Cirella Chamberlain has been invisible her entire life. Shielded from the spotlight, her father kept her existence a secret from the high society of Evermore, Washington, wanting her entrance into that world to be her choice. But after his untimely death, her cruel stepmother took that freedom away.
Dean Kensington is a renowned defenseman for the Happily Ever After University Legends and the heir to the Kensington empire. Raised to one day take over the family businesses, he knows how to control his emotions, or rather hide them–both from the world and himself.
Asher Kensington, known as the playful and witty younger brother, is good at hiding behind a quip and a flashy smile. But wearing his heart on his sleeve has never kept him out of trouble, on or off the ice, especially when it comes to love.
When the three share a night none will soon forget at their parents' masquerade engagement party, they form an unforgettable connection, one that lingers long after the clock strikes midnight. After Cirella vanishes, leaving the brothers without a word, they swear to find her at any cost.
But the problem with tracking their mystery girl down is that she doesn’t want to be found . . . not until the secrets threatening both her past and future are finally unmasked.
This Cinderella-inspired romance book was so fun! 🩵 It’s actually the first Cinderella themed MFM book I’ve read where there isn’t just one prince figure but two. 🤭🩵
Thank you so much to House of Hearts and the author for the free ARC of this book. This is my honest, voluntary review.
‧₊ ᵎᵎ 👗 ⋅ ˚✮
I really liked the FMC, Cirella, she’s such a courageous and kind protagonist. She’s been through a lot of hardships, she’s been treated unfairly and yet she still has so much kindness and love for others. 🥹 The two MMCs - Dean and Asher - were wonderful as well. It’s so beautiful having three main characters who are all massive GREEN flags and whose relationship is healthy and supportive. Honestly, at several points I was expecting things to go a certain way based on usual romance book expectations. However, this book is so gorgeously doing something healing and healthy with the way these characters react and behave. Communication and respect, you guys! 🥳💗 I love how supportive Dean and Asher are of Cirella and I love how she stands up for them too. Don’t you just love reading about beautiful relationships and love?! 😭💖
Although this romance book is inspired by and based on the Cinderella story, there are many differences! I liked all the details from the fairytale and I loved how they were modified to fit this particular story. It felt as if you’re reading something entirely new. 🥰 Not just with the MFM dynamic but also with the secondary characters and the villain.
Speaking of secondary characters, I loved the found family element! One of my favorite elements in fiction actually and it was done beautifully! The characters are so funny and their interactions added extra depth to the story. I have another book in this series so now I’m even more excited to read it 🤭💞 Special shoutout to our best boy Gus 🐭
The chemistry was intense! The gazebo scenes were iconic, I will not accept anything else as fact. 😌💫 Also, there were illustrations of two adorable moments!! I was surprised and extremely happy to see those 🥹
I can’t wait to see whose story the author will take on next! In the meantime, I’ll be busy binge reading the other two books in this enchanting series 💖
It is a stunning Cinderella retelling that somehow makes hockey players and motorcycles feel like the perfect fairytale match. Watching Cirella go from being trapped by her awful stepmother to finding her own voice with the help of Asher and Dean was so incredibly satisfying. She is such a hardworking, resilient heroine, and I found myself cheering for her through every single challenge she faced.
The relationship between the three of them is truly the heart of the story. Dean and Asher are the ultimate golden retriever heroes who are completely obsessed with their mystery girl, and their devotion is honestly melt-worthy. They offer her so much more than just protection because they give her the support and found family she has been craving her whole life.
The chemistry is off the charts, the drama kept me glued to the pages, and the balance of emotional depth and spice was just perfection. I loved how they made her feel safe enough to finally thrive on her own terms.
It is a total page-turner that left me feeling so happy and fulfilled.

Huge thank you to Pru Schuyler & House of Hearts Lit for the ARC! 😍 All my bookish thoughts are completely my own. ✨
I don’t always read hockey romances, but if I do they are normally (typically always) written by Pru Schuyler.
I was so excited to see the ARC opportunity for Breaking the Glass because I loved the two other HEAU books, Saving the Beast (Beauty and the Beast retelling) and Redeeming the Villain (Sleeping Beauty retelling). A Cinderella retelling that’s also MFM? Count me in.
Breaking the Glass was a great addition to this series. I love the found family that the players and the girls find with each other (and of course the appearances by the characters from the first two books). I also enjoyed the references to Cinderella placed throughout the story, and the spice with Asher and Dean was steamy.
Thank you so much to House of Hearts Lit and Pru Schuyler for the opportunity to ARC read!
A sweet, little palate cleanser wrapped up in healing, found family, and hockey boys who fall HARD.
Cirella absolutely broke my heart at the start of this book. She’s spent so long surviving abuse and grief that she barely remembers what it feels like to actually live. But, watching her slowly find safety, confidence, and people who genuinely love her had me gushing.
Also, Asher and Dean had me immediately gone. The devotion to their mysterious girl was adorable. I really loved that this wasn’t about them rescuing her, but about helping her remember she deserved love and happiness all along.
The found family vibes were definitely the best part for me—the team, the friends—it all gave the story this cozy, comforting energy even with the heavier themes woven throughout.
I DO wish we got more interactions between the main characters because I wanted to soak in their connection a little longer. And for a hockey romance, I definitely wanted WAY MORE hockey. Ya girl is down bad for the boy aquarium.
Short, cute, emotional, and easy to binge in one sitting. The perfect reset between some heavier reads.
*Thank you to Pru Schuyler for this arc opportunity.
✨I’m a sucker for a good Cinderella retelling, and Breaking of Glass delivered all the fairytale vibes while adding hockey players. I was here for all of it.
Cirella was easy to love and root for. After spending most of her life hidden away and controlled by the people around her, ❤️🩹it was satisfying to watch her grow into her own person. 💕Dean and Asher were both great in completely different ways. Dean being the quiet, dependable one and Asher bringing the charm, humor, and heart. 🫠I loved the connection between all three of them and how their relationship developed throughout the story.
🎭The masquerade ball was easily one of my favorite parts.🫶🏽The mystery of the girl who disappeared kept me hooked, and I was fully invested in seeing how everything would unfold once the brothers finally found Cirella again. The chemistry? Hot!🔥 The tension? Chef kiss🤌🏽 The drama? I ate it up🤭
⭐️Overall, if you love Cinderella retellings, hockey romance, family drama, hidden identities, and protective heroes, this one is definitely worth picking.🙌🏽
Thank you to the Author Pru Schuyler and House of Hearts PR for the opportunity to read this ARC!💙
I adored this Cinderella retelling 🩵 . It was heartwarming and a unique take on a classic, yet still whimsical enough to feel like a fairytale.
Cirella has been broken down to a shell of a person who is trying so desperately to just survive. Enter our Prince Charming and knight in shining armour ❤️🔥Asher and Dean are absolutely smitten with their mystery princess from one magical night together. We’re talking absolute goners, who would crawl on their hands and knees to find out who she is 😍
This story wasn’t about someone saving her, but finding a family who would love her, support her and stand by her to give her the strength to stand up for herself.
It was truly a wonderful story filled with emotion, magic and two protective golden retriever MMCs to die for 🩵
Thank you to Pru and House of Hearts Lit for the ARC.
Loved, loved, loved this Cinderellas MFM retelling!!! Cirella lost both of her parents and has been under the “care” of her stepmother for years. She finally sees a light at the end the tunnel. She’s working for the Kensingtons and is going to school. If her step monster can get Dean and Asher’s dad to marry her, she’ll give Cirella back control of her childhood home. Easy…until she meets them at a ball, and they all instantly click. They guys just want to help and take care of Cirella, but she’s worried about what could happen to all of them if she step monster gets wind of their feelings for each other. Spicy and fun twist on this fairytale. Loved it!!!
overall a cute story with all the classic makings of a cinderella retelling. happy ever after, evil stepmother, but also add in why choose and it’s like if cinderella and your fav smut novel had a baby.
Breaking the Glass absolutely shattered my expectations in the best possible way. 🥹🏒✨ This MFM Cinderella retelling completely stole my heart and reminded me why I love fairytale retellings so much. It had all the magical Cinderella vibes I wanted, but with college hockey players, emotional depth, swoony romance, and a heroine I couldn’t stop rooting for.
Cirella’s story honestly broke my heart at times. After losing both of her parents, she’d spent years trapped under the control of her awful stepmother, constantly manipulated and emotionally blackmailed. Watching her slowly find hope again felt so emotional and rewarding. 🥺 She wasn’t written as some helpless girl waiting to be saved either. She was strong, hardworking, determined, and trying so desperately to build a future for herself through fashion school while surviving impossible circumstances. I loved her so much.
And then Dean and Asher entered the picture… and WOW. 😭💖 These men made me want to believe that good men really do exist. They were protective without being controlling, sweet without losing that teasing charm, and so deeply caring toward Cirella. The way they immediately wanted to help her, support her, and simply make her feel safe had my heart melting nonstop.
The chemistry between the three of them felt natural from the very beginning. The emotional connection, the tension, the softness, the loyalty—it all worked SO well together. Every interaction felt meaningful, and I loved how both Dean and Asher brought something different into Cirella’s life. Their relationship didn’t feel rushed or forced at all. It felt genuine, emotional, and completely addictive to read. 🏒✨
And honestly? The Cinderella retelling elements were PERFECT. The ball, the hidden identity vibes, the cruel stepmother, the impossible choices—it captured that fairytale magic while still feeling fresh and unique. Adding hockey players and motorcycle-riding rich boys into the mix somehow made everything even better. 🚨🏍️🏒 It was dramatic, emotional, fun, spicy, and impossible to put down.
This was one of those books where I kept saying “just one more chapter” and suddenly the entire book was over because I physically could not stop reading. The romance had me giggling and kicking my feet one minute, then getting emotional the next. I loved the balance between the heavier moments and the softer, comforting scenes.
✨ This book is perfect for fans of: 🏒 college hockey romance 👑 Cinderella retellings 💖 MFM romance 🏍️ protective motorcycle-riding MMCs 🎭 hidden identity vibes 💰 rich boys / poor girl dynamics 🖤 evil stepmother drama & blackmail 👗 fashion major FMC 🔥 emotional & spicy romance ✨ found safety, comfort, and love
Breaking the Glass felt magical, emotional, comforting, and completely addictive from beginning to end. I loved every second of this story and honestly didn’t want it to end. 💕🏒✨
Thank you so much to Pru Schuyler and House of Hearts Lit for the ARC opportunity. I’m so grateful I got the chance to read this one early!
The way I'm obsessed with these three and this Cinderella retelling!
Cirella is our FMC and she's being hidden in plain sight by her step-mother who, after her father passed away terrorized Cirella and has kept her tightly under her thumb with threats of destroying her childhood home if she doesn't comply. Asher and Dean are brothers who's father is now going to be marrying Cirella's stepmother following the loss of their mother not too long ago.
The two of them are star hockey players for Happily Ever After University and have aspirations of getting into professional hockey one day. However, their father has different goals for Dean as he wants him to carry on the family business, something Dean really does not want to do. Cirella works as a maid for Asher and Dean's father while attending college. Cirella also has an amazing talent as a fashion designer, something Adrianna uses to her advantage ALL time time!
Asher and Dean are both living in their grief from losing their mother and dealing with the fact that their father is moving on so fast, seemingly forgetting about her. This causes a rift between the 3 of them as their fathers once cheerful personality is replaced with a stoic and almost angry man.
No one knows her true identity or her connection to their future stepmother. On the eve of their engagement party, Cirella with the help of her best friend Jules and Jules' mother Myra, sneaks into the ball where she catches the attention of Asher and Dean but thanks to the masks required for the party, her identity was hidden. The guys are IMMEDIATELY enamored with her and set out on their mission to find her true identity.
As they all attend HEAU, they use their status to send out a blast text message for their mystery woman to meet them at their spot. Cirella hesitantly meets them and still keeps her identity hidden but exchanges number with them still keeping her identity secret. When they finally discover her identity (completely by accident) they learn more about her life and how she's been treated. Asher remembers the bruises he saw on her throat from Adrianna before her knew her true identity.
The three of them devise a plan to not only prevent their dad from marrying her stepmother, but also to get Cirella's house back and find out the truth about her father’s wishes.
The way these two absolutely dote on Cirella and care for her in every single way possible is absolutely heartwarming. The chemistry, spice and banter between the three of them is *chefs kiss*. The way that not only Asher, Dean, Jules and her mother want to help Cirella but Asher and Dean's friends help as well once they learn who she is and what has been done to her.
I thoroughly enjoyed this retelling and can't wait to see what’s next from Pru!
Thank you Pru Schuyler and House of Hearts Lit for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

***MAY CONTAIN POTENTIAL SPOILERS***
I’ve read the previous books in this series and LOVED them, so I had high hopes for this when it was announced and let me tell you it didn’t disappoint. The writing was smooth and the story flowed, the pacing was a good speed too.
Also omg the spice… Miss Pru ma’am 🥵🥵🥵
I have to admit I was a bit skeptical at first by the step siblings part as it’s a trope that I really dislike and usually I avoid books with it but i didn’t know this had it until I looked further (can you tell the HEAU series/ anything hockey romance is a auto buy for me 😂 ) however as I read I found it was completely different to what I thought would happen (yes I know they wouldn’t be blood related but the trope still icks me out)
I love how each book is a reimagining of a classic fairytale.
And Cinderella is my favourite princess.
I read this book so fast, I was obsessed and didn’t want to put it down. It had me laughing, giggling and crying too.
My heart just broke so much for Cirella and what she went through. Also what Dean and Asher went through too.
Losing a parent is the worst feeling ever and I feel like Pru wrote about this in a very respectful way because it can be a very sensitive subject.
Pru’s books really just make you feel deeply and that’s what I love about her writing.
It was nice to see Cirella start to believe in herself and to stand up for herself, and I loved how Myra, Jules, Dean and Asher were there for her and always stood by her side though it all.
Everyone needs a bestie like Jules 🥹 and I’m so lucky I found mine irl.
I loved how Myra became a kind of mother figure to Cirella.
And I think we can all agreed that Adrianna is a b!tch and we hate her so much for what she did and put Cirella through.
Gus Gus was so freaking cute I couldn’t cope. 🐭🩷
Honestly think this is the best in the series so far and I can’t wait for the next one and to read Pru’s other work.
And whilst I’m rating this 4.5 stars (just because of the step sibling part for me), it’s definitely one of my favourite reads of 2026 and is one I 100% recommend. Also it’s my favourite in the series so far.

The third entry into HEAU, we get a Cinderella retelling with a twist - Cirella snags herself a Knight and a Prince Charming! This is an MFM book, with adopted brothers as the love interests.
Cirella grew up in a happy household when she was younger, being very close to her father. She had no idea they were even considered rich or 'royalty' growing up. Her father lived a simple life shielding her away from society and their claws. Protected her so much that when he passed away, she was left in the hands of her evil stepmother, and no one even knew of her existence. It was easy to threaten and hide her away with leverage over her parent's belongings and home.
Asher and Dean Kenisington are still grieving the loss of their mother recently passing when their father announces his new 'love' with Adrianna and their intent to marry. The boys are furious and hurt by their father, and they can't understand how he can move on so suddenly after losing their mother. Especially with Adrianna, who makes their skin crawl and sets them on edge. They just know there's something off about her.
A grand masquearade ball is thrown for Adrianna's proposal to Mr Kesington. Cirella is forced to go along with her plan to snare another rich man and marry him, her parent's house and cherished belongings used as leverage to keep her in line.
With the help of Myra and Jules, fellow servants of the Kensington household and fairy godmothers in the making, Cirella attends the ball dressed and masked as the secret princess she is. Cirella only wanted one nightof dancing, gowns, and fun before returning to her simple life until the deal with the devil was complete and she got her family home back. She certainly wasn't expecting to meet a Knight in shining armour or Prince Charming.
When the clock strikes midnight, the glass slippers are removed and Cirella is ushered away back to her servant life, clinging to the brief amount of happiness she received to get her through her days, because as much of a connection she felt with Dean and Asher, nothing can ever come of it. Not when her evil stepmother holds the very keys to her future happiness.
A cute retelling twist of Cinderella, including a mouse named Gus, fairy servant mothers, and an evil stepmother. The gang make appearances and bring Cirella into the fold of their own found family, helping her realise that a house and belongings aren't what connects her to her parents. Their memories will live on within her.
Cirella really grew on me throughout the story. Watching her transform into a strong, confident woman was one of my favorite parts of the book. Her resilience and determination to stand up against the abuse she had endured made her character feel real! Asher and Dean were the perfect counterparts to Cirella because they came from different backgrounds. Growing up in the spotlight because of their family, they never had to question who they were or where they belonged in the world. I think that the emotional connection they made with Cirella over the loss of a parent really made their relationship feel natural. And let's be honest Asher and Dean were absolutely smitten with her!
One of my favorite aspects of the story was how it stayed true to elements of Cinderella. Especially Gus!! The little mouse was such a fun addition and constantly brought me back to the original fairytale. The strongest part of the book, however, was the found family. Cirella, Asher, and Dean all found people who supported them, believed in them, and helped them through some of their most difficult moments. These relationships really were the heart of the story!!
The reason this ultimately landed at 3.5 stars for me is that I found myself wanting more emotional depth in certain moments. This story tackles some heavier topics, and I would have loved to explore the character's emotions and how these situations developed the characters as people. While the emotional moments were impactful, I just think some additional development would have made those scenes stronger. I also felt like the writing sometimes was a bit younger than I expected for characters who are college aged adults and stepping into their own. At times, I wanted the dialogue and interactions to reflect a bit more of the maturity and independence that I felt like the characters had. That said the lighter tone did make for an easy reading experience and I can see how people could enjoy that! Overall, this was an enjoyable read with some great character growth, strong found family elements, and Cinderella inspired details.
A huge thank you to House of Heart Lit and Pru Schuyler for the gifted copy, as always all opinions and thoughts are my own!
WOW! This retelling was so unbelievably good! I already love a good retelling, but this one? It absolutely knocked it out of the park. The Cinderella vibes were PERFECTION—familiar enough to give you that magical fairytale feeling, but fresh and unique enough to feel like a completely new story all on its own.
Criella was such a fantastic FMC. I absolutely loved her. She had the perfect mix of strength, heart, vulnerability, and determination that made her impossible not to root for. She felt like such a well-developed character, and I loved getting to experience this retelling through her perspective. She wasn’t just a damsel waiting to be rescued—she had her own spark, her own voice, and that made the story even better.
And then there’s Asher and Dean. Ohhhh my goodness. These two were the perfect MMCs. If you’re going to give me a Cinderella-inspired story with hockey players as the knight/prince figures? I am immediately sold. And these two absolutely delivered. They each brought something unique to the story and to Criella’s life, and I loved the dynamics between all of them. The chemistry, the tension, the emotional moments—it all worked so incredibly well.
Asher and Dean had that perfect balance of protective, swoony, and completely lovable energy. They weren’t just there to be the romantic leads—they genuinely added so much depth to the story. Their connection with Criella felt meaningful, natural, and completely addictive to read.
And can we just talk about the fact that this is a retelling with hockey? Because honestly? That combination is chef’s kiss. It’s such a fun, creative spin on a classic story, and I loved every second of it.
This book grabbed me from the very first page and refused to let me go until the very end. It had that dangerous “just one more chapter” effect where suddenly you realize you’ve read the entire book in one sitting because there was absolutely no chance of putting it down.
The characters, the romance, the hockey vibes, the fairytale magic—it all came together perfectly. This was fun, emotional, addictive, and such a memorable read. I absolutely devoured it and loved every second.
There are some books where you enjoy the romance, and then there are books where you become emotionally invested in a character’s healing journey.
Breaking the Glass was absolutely the second type for me.
This Cinderella retelling follows Cirella, a heroine who has spent so much of her life simply trying to survive. Between abuse, grief, and everything she’s endured, she has forgotten what it feels like to truly live for herself. That was what made her story so powerful to me. Her journey wasn’t just about finding love—it was about finding safety, confidence, belonging, and a future she never believed she deserved.
And then there are Asher and Dean.
I completely fell in love with both of them.
What I appreciated most was that their relationship with Cirella never felt like they were trying to “save” her. Instead, they became people who reminded her of her worth. They supported her, protected her when needed, and showed her what unconditional care and acceptance could look like.
Their devotion to their mystery girl had me hooked from the beginning.
The found family aspect was one of my favorite parts of the story. Watching Cirella slowly build connections and realize she wasn’t alone anymore made the emotional moments hit even harder. Every small victory felt earned, and every moment of happiness felt meaningful because of everything she had survived.
If you enjoy why choose romances that balance romance with genuine emotional depth, this one is worth picking up.
The hockey setting, the college atmosphere, the forced proximity, and the Cinderella-inspired elements all blended together into a story that was both comforting and emotional.
Cirella stole my heart, just like she did with Dean and Asher.
Cirella was incredibly sweet and open about her feelings, especially for her parents, her pet mouse Gus, and her friends who knew her story.
Dean and Asher were both adopted brothers who attended the same college and played hockey for the same team. They were popular and every girl’s dream.
Dean was the older, serious, responsible, and quiet one. He wanted to pursue a career in professional hockey, but his father wanted him to take over the family business.
Asher was the younger, playful, witty, and humorous one. He hated being alone and used humor to cope.
Like Cirella, both Dean and Asher were open about their feelings and protected each other fiercely.
One night, Cirella’s friends encouraged her to live her life as a princess at a masquerade party at the house she worked for as a maid.
Cirella found her Prince Charming and her Knight, both Dean and Asher. They waited and chatted for their princess until the clock struck midnight, when she mysteriously disappeared.
Dean and Asher couldn’t go about their day cause they kept thinking who the mystery girl from the masquerade party was until they sent a text throughout the college to find her. Little did they know, their princess was right under their noses.
I absolutely despised Cirella’s stepmother and Dean and Asher’s father. They were always self-centered and focused on money and work, especially when it came to mistreating Cirella and Dean and Asher.
However, I eventually saw Dean and Asher’s father change after a revelation.
Overall, I absolutely loved this book. I enjoyed the characters, the storytelling, and the dynamics between Dean, Asher, and Cirella. Their nicknames, flirting, ownership, protectiveness, and friendships were all amazing.

Breaking The Glass is the third book in the HEAU Hockey Legends series by @pruschuyler and it follows the story of Cirella, Dean and Asher🩵
❓—> What is your favorite fairytale to read as a retelling? Let me know in the comments⬇️
📖: Cirella Chamberlain has spent her whole life hidden from Evermore’s elite, kept secret by the father who wanted her to choose her own future. But after his untimely death, her cruel stepmother took that freedom away. But one masquerade party changes everything.
Dean Kensington, the controlled, golden-boy hockey heir, and his charming younger brother Asher can’t forget the mysterious girl they shared one unforgettable night with. After Cirella vanishes, leaving the brothers without a word, they swear to find her at any cost.
The only problem? Cirella doesn’t want to be found. Not until the secrets threatening both her past and future are finally unmasked.
Review💕: This Cinderella retelling was absolutely brilliant and I loved every second of it. Pru keeps amazing me with every book she writes🥹 This one was impossible to put down and I finished it in less than 4 hours👀
Cirella was an amazing FMC. I loved her strength and her vulnerability at the same time. I especially adored her character growth, particularly toward the end when she didn’t hesitate to speak up for herself and her determination to fight for what had always been hers from the star.
Dean and Asher were the perfect fit for Cirella. The way they both cared so deeply for Cirella was beautiful and genuinely touching. And the motorcycles scenes?!?! FIRE🔥
I do wish there had been just a bit more character development for the boys, maybe with more insights into their individual backstory, but overall I still really enjoyed how the way the story turned out.
Thank you @houseofhearts for providing me with an eARC of Breaking Glass🩵
Breaking the Glass – @pruschuylerauthor 🗓 Release: May 21, 2026
This was such a sweet and heartwarming take on Cinderella with just enough spice, emotion, and fairytale magic woven through it. I absolutely loved this one.
Cirella has spent years feeling invisible after losing her parents and being trapped under Adrianna’s control. Watching her carry grief, fear, and self-doubt while still holding onto kindness made me want to reach through the pages and hug her. But what made this story shine was seeing her slowly step into the person she was always meant to be.
Enter Asher and Dean — our Prince Charming and knight in shining armor. I loved that this wasn’t a story about someone “saving” her, but about finding people who reminded her she deserved love, safety, and happiness all along. The chemistry between the three of them felt so natural and effortless, and I adored how quickly they just fit.
The found family in this book completely stole my heart too. Myra, Jules, the hockey team, and even little Gus, made this feel warm and comforting even through heavier moments surrounding grief, trauma, and mental health.
This story had healing, family, love, growth, and justice wrapped up in a beautiful fairytale retelling. By the end I had the biggest smile on my face and exactly the happily-ever-after.
✨ Tropes: 👑 Cinderella retelling ✨ Why choose 🏒 Hockey romance 🫶 Found family 💖 Mental health representation 🏠 Forced proximity 🩷 Healing & self-love journey
If you love soft fairytale touches with emotional depth and a couple of protective golden retriever/book boyfriend vibes mixed in, definitely add this one to your TBR.
Thanks to @pruschuylerauthor and @houseofheartslit for the gifted copy — all opinions are my own.🤍
Nothing says it better than the dedication, “For those wanting to be claimed by two massive hockey players at the same time. Enjoy, Princess.”
Dean Kensington is the heir to the Kensington empire. He is serious and responsible. Asher Kensington feels deeply. He is playful, witty, and flirty. They are both adopted, play hockey, and are forming a found family with their hockey teammates. And they both were enchanted with Cirella at first sight.
One thing all the MMCs in the series so far share is how protective, possessive, and down bad they are for their FMCs. Dean and Asher are no exception. Their only problem is how do they find the beautiful woman in the blue mask?
Cirella is such a sweetheart. Once the daughter of two doting and loving parents, now stuck with an evil stepmother who has diminished. But with the help of her “fairy godmothers,” she gets to experience one night in the world she was meant to belong. Only the two men she met that night won’t let her hide in the shadows.
Ciri’s knows how to get under Dean and Asher’s skin. Whether that be by her wit, just by existing, or her very on-the-mark and honest observations. I loved seeing her sassier side come out with the boys. She makes the boys feel seen, whether they want to be or not. In return, Dean and Asher are fiercely protective of Ciri and determined to show her how much she means to them.
I can’t wait to see what Pru has in store next! I can honestly say I get caught up in the current love story to notice any Easter eggs for the next book, if there are any. Since Pru has shared who the next two MMCs will be, I now have a theory on what the next retelling will be, and I can’t wait to meet the next FMC.
Thanks to Pru Schuyler and House of Hearts for the gifted copy — all opinions are my own.
Pru Schuyler + a Fairytale Reimagining = MY FAVORITE! 🩵🐁🧵🪡
“We’re trying to be gentlemen here.” “Who said I wanted gentlemen?”
HEAU Hockey Legends is one of my all time fave sports romance series. Fairytale retellings are so fun to read and with this one being a why choose situation I was a seriously happy reader!
“You’re so strong, so resilient, and so brave. We’re in awe of you, baby.”
Cirella deserves all the love and protection that her guys give her. Her evil stepmom had me fuming but the ending was really satisfying! All of the dark thoughts that Cirella had engrained in her mind were vanquished one by one by Dean and Asher.
“You’re a warrior, Ciri.”
Those guys were so head over skates obsessed with their ‘Princess’ before they ever even knew her name. They have hearts of gold and I loved them so much! (They also WORSHIPPED Cirella in and out of the bedroom!) 🤭
“Look at me, Princess. Eyes on me as I fill you up.”
Everyone is a little broken in this story so their road to healing and HEA was truly so special!

I was really looking forward to this book as I loved the first two books in this series and it didn't disappoint. The story wasn't at all like I expected it to be and I think that brought another level of enjoyment to it.
I expected Asher and Dean to be these bad boys who taunted Cirella but they weren't even remotely this way, they were incredibly sweet, gentlemanly and loyal. I found it refreshing how down to earth they both were considering the family they come from. My heart ached for Cirella's story, I loved her growth throughout the book and the journey she went on for her happy ending. The dynamic between the 3 of them was incredible honestly, they fit so perfectly, bounced off each other and it really was written so well. This book was different from the first couple and I love that Pru did that with this book. I related the most with Asher thoughout this book, as a very emotional person myself and because I know what it's like to watch a person you love become a different person through grief and losing their most important person. I also related to Dean and his coping mechanism needing to be alone and in the dark, I always love when I can really relate with parts of a character it brings a deepness to the contention to the book. The book had a lot of deep emotions and as always with a Pru book she did an amazing representation of abuse and coping with grief. I honestly can't recommend this series enough.
This book is a modern retelling of the well-known cinderella fairytale. We follow Cirella, who is working for the Kensingtons in exchange for education at HEAU. As a creative soul, Cirella studies design and makes the most beautiful clothes. Her evil stepmom, Adrianna, is soon marrying the head of the Kensington family and made Cirella promise not to reveal her true identity.
After years of abuse and pestering, Cirella is afraid, small and lost all belief in herself and the world. But the end of this toxic relationship is almost over, when the wedding of Adrianna is done, she will at last sign the deed to Cirella's parental home over and she will finally be free.
However, when a magic night happens, Cirella meets the charasmatic, sweet and protecting Asher & Dean Kensington. She starts to form a new family, which is not only a remain of the past. The deeper she falls, the higher the stakes. Will she save this new household from the terror of Adrianna, or will she safe the last shred of her parents thats left?
The characters are all sweet, with a good amount of back story to give the story a genuine feeling. Adrianna is a true villain, the princes the true heroes. Schuylers writing is magical, bringing the most endearing characters alive. The side-kick mouse was a cherry on top!
This book is a non-traditional lovestory, in which a poly relationship is followed. However, this quote of the book perfectly described what I was feeling throughout the story:
"Seeing how much you both care about her makes me so happy. It's a situation I may noy fully understand, but I don't need too. As long as you guys are content, that's all that matters."
It was my first book of Schuyler, but I will definitely catch up on the previous 2 of the series. I would def recommend, with some notes, as I think it will not be for everyone due to the non-traditional setting.
“You’re so strong, so resilient, and so brave. We’re in awe of you, baby.”

I was so excited to be accepted to ARC read this. MFM Cinderella Retelling…. Say Less! I loved that this was not about someone swooping in to save her but showed the growth, strength and resilience of Cirella. The found family element was just so wholesome and them having her back was everything. This was my first fairytale retelling and won’t be ,h last.

Words that Linger: 🐭 “One kiss from each of us, and you’re already starved,” I tease her. “But if the lady insists, then my lips are yours.”
🐭 “But when it comes to you, there’s nothing I wouldn’t do.”
🐭 “Are you trying to play hard to get, Cirella? Because I hate to break it to you, but it’s way too late for that. You’re already ours.”
🐭 “You’re selfless. So goddamn beautiful. You’re the reason we’ve been staying afloat lately. You’re everything to us, Cirella.”
🐭 “I might be biased, but if it were up to us, there’d be a story named Cirella to inspire others to take control of their life the way you have. You’re a warrior, Ciri.

This was such a fun and emotional modern retelling of Cinderella that completely swept me away. Cirella's story broke my heart from the very beginning. After losing her mother at a young age, she was raised in secret by a father who believed he was protecting her freedom. When he passed away, everything changed. Her stepmother didn't just take away her independence—she spent years tearing down Cirella's confidence with cruel words and emotional abuse until Cirella began believing the lies herself. Now attending college and working as a housekeeper in the Kingston family home, Cirella is determined to build a better future for herself. Her dream of becoming a fashion designer keeps her moving forward, even when life continues to throw obstacles in her path. When her stepmother becomes engaged to Mr. Kingston and a masquerade ball is planned to celebrate, a little help from a friend gives Cirella the chance to attend secretly. One chance encounter changes everything. A moment outside for fresh air leads her to Dean and Asher Kingston. Dean, the future heir to the family empire, has spent his entire life hiding his emotions behind a carefully crafted mask of control and responsibility. Asher is his complete opposite. He is charming, witty, and effortlessly able to make everyone around him smile. What begins as a simple meeting turns into a magical night that none of them will ever forget. But when midnight arrives, Cirella disappears. With nothing but memories of a mysterious woman behind a mask, Dean and Asher become determined to find her no matter what it takes. The problem? They have no idea who she is or what she looks like.
I've always loved fairytales, and Cinderella is the first VHS tape I remember watching on repeat, as a child.
Pru's modern retelling of Cinderella includes two adoptive brothers who are hockey players, falling for their future stepsister, Cirella, who has served her evil stepmother for the past six years. She meets the Kensington brothers, Dean and Asher, at the masquerade ball. For one night, she finds happiness from her miserable life as a maid and servant to her stepmother, Adrianna, who is engaged to the brothers' widowed father.
Some of the chapters felt really long, especially the hockey scenes. The brothers, Prince Charming and Knight, are flirty with their Princess, patiently waiting for her texts, which drags on. The slow burn felt a bit lackluster. While it was a quick read, I never felt fully invested in the relationships. I did like how they figured out Ciri's identity without her leaving a glass slipper behind. The found family aspect with the hockey team and the Kensington staff is wholesome and endearing. Adrianna deserves to be thrown in jail for all of her crimes, and I'm relieved Everett escaped marrying a cruel woman. Her father would be so proud of the woman Cirella has become.

Firstly thank you to the wonderful Pru for the opportunity to read her book Breaking The Glass which is the third book in the HEAU Hockey Legends series. I have been loving this series so much and when I saw the email I was approved I was even more excited and this did not disappoint.it was so so good.
Breaking The Glass follows Cirella, Asher and Dean. Two different worlds collide. Three people different journeys but together they are unstoppable. Together they grow and support one another.
This was such a special journey and I loved the way the boys helped support Cirella they didn't try to rescue her. They helped her heal, grow and show her what she deserves and that is all the love.
These three have a comfortable chemistry, fabulous found family vibes, its emotional, there's healing, cheesy nicknames that I personally adored, mmc's who fall hard for their girl, and its swoony. Also that gazebo scene 🥵🥵
If you’re looking for a Cinderella retelling romance with a prince charming and knight in shining armour and a sprinkle of hockey check out pru's newest book Breaking The Glass.
Thanks to Pru Schuyler and House of Hearts for the gifted copy — all opinions are my own.
This is a modern day retelling of cinderella but with a little twist which is its a MFM which is so good.
Cirella lost both her parents and during that time her dad remarried and she got a horrible step mother.
Dean and asher Kensington are brothers and very rich they also got to heau they are also hockey players 😍.
Dean and asher lose there mum and when that happens there dad kinda turns into this person that they dont recognise especially after he gets engaged to a women named Adrianna who happens to be the step mother of cirella.
Nobody knows how horrible adrianna is to cirella because nobody knows that shes her step mother.
When Dean and asher meet cirella its at the engagement party but they don't know its her because shes got a mask on and also they didnt know who she.
I really like how they both really like her and both fall for her as well.
Theres so many details that also relate to the organial cinderella book which i love.
Id rate the spice in this book 🌶🌶🌶 out of 5.
This is the first ever mfm book iv read and I loved every second of it I also cant wait to find out who the next book is
Pru Schuyler always always always delivered on amazing character that you can’t help but love and romance that will make you swoon over and over again! And of course Breaking The Glass was no exception! Now I’ll admit I’m not normally one to pick up a MFM or a reverse harem kind of book but I love Pru Schuyler’s writing, it’s always so beautiful and emotional so I decided to give it a try. And I definitely wasn’t disappointed! I loved Ciri and just how much she stayed true to herself and continued to love those around her even though she had a rather difficult set of circumstances to overcome, and of course you can’t not love Asher and Dean while they definitely have different personalities one a jokester and the other a more stoic they both love fiercely and with their whole hearts. And their dynamic OMG the romance, the spice, the way they just absolutely click from the second they meet will just keep you swooning throughout this whole book! So if you’re looking for a forbidden Cinderella, MFM, hockey romance, with amazing characters, a cute animal companion, secrets, plenty of swoon-worthy moments and spice, plenty of twists to keep you guessing and a happily ever after then I highly recommend grabbing a copy of Breaking the Glass today!
A real-life fairytale? How about a real-life Cinderella? The story of Cirella, the girl who lost both her parents and was stuck with the evil stepmother is now a modern tale with two hot-as-sin hockey players who will burn the world to protect what’s theirs. Cirella struggles to survive after being stripped off everything she had, but she doesn’t give up and survives abuse and neglect growing up as a beautiful, caring woman. Working as a servant for a wealthy family while being threatened by her stepmother, she meets a new found family, new friends and most importantly, the love of Dean and Asher. The boys grew up entitled, but remained humble and honest. Facing grief, after the loss of their mother and the change in their father’s personality, the adopted brothers grow closer and decide to fight for what they want: Cirella and their family back. This modern take on Cinderella is beautiful, spicy and raw. Pru Shuyler explores concepts such as vulnerability, loneliness and grief, but also real friendship and true love that overcomes all obstacles. I received an ARC in exchange for my honest review.
