When I was a kid, I was torn between whether or not I was going to grow up and be the Incredible Hulk or Wonder Woman. I flirted with being a Jedi Knight for awhile, but I wasn't up for the intense travel associated with the gig. In my teens, I settled on being a writer -- although I had no idea the effort that would entail. Not only am I a writer now, but I'm a writer in several different mediums. I'm a longtime newspaper reporter, an avid reader and a voracious science fiction fanatic.
Another banger from Amanda! I’m almost concerned when she has one this good because she’s been going up and down like a roller coaster. This one was definitely sky high up. Not only the adventures but the way the characters went to the next level. I loved how Zoe stepped into the role of squelching the whining, something I would have liked to do so much throughout reading these series. Zoe needs to be in every book to tell them to shut up and move on.
Always nice when Zoe, Aric and Sami visit. Everything is always so chaotic around Zoe and Sami with Aric being the strong, silent support. Luna is faced with a plague which breaks out among the vampires but it quickly spreads to the humans. This scourge but vampires 200+ years ago before a cure was found, how it has resurfaced in Detroit, Michigan is a mystery. Zoe and her family rush into town to help Luna and of course The Grimlocks solve this mystery which seems to involve her father Booth and a vampire named Roman Blackstone ........................... Both men are up to something and are hiding information from Luna but the still expect her.to help them................... Best not to ask about Jessie he seems to spend all his time crying ......... Seriously.............
Luna has her hands full in this one! She has to be careful on two fronts and she quickly becomes immersed in the action. Zoe, Aric and Sami make an appearance that frustrates Luna but is reluctant to admit she’s happy to have help. Jesse seems to have a minor issue with the new villain and the insinuation that Luna may have been involved with someone else. Poor Luna is really going through all the “what ifs” but she slowly gets better at excepting everything. We do get a very big surprise visitor from her future that made a cry happy tears! The information she gets sets the stage for her eventual battle with Booth. I’m ready for Luna’s next adventure!
Talk about die laughing omg… I hang out for the first Tuesday of the month to grab Amanda’s new release and honestly I don’t care which series is up in any given month because I love, love, love them all. Vexing Vampires was all round entertaining, we had snark, sass, adventure and hilarity from the get go, we had old favourites drop in, future favourites made an appearance, memories were made and found. Surrounding it all Luna came more into her own and really started to fully understand family and loyalty at it finest. Family isn’t always blood or dna it’s unconditional love, trust, loyalty and knowing those people truly have your back for life.
Always a great ride with Luna, the Grimlocks, the others!!
The storytelling in Ms. Lee's books are Always a great read. The cast of characters she throws into the mix from her many other series are Always just the right amount of flavoring, so to speak. They are engaging, fun, suspenseful and hilarious all in one fail swoop. Highly recommend to new readers of hers, and yes, each book are stand alones! I loathe when an author won't finalize a book to where you have to read the next in series to have a conclusion. I just dropped 2 authors this week for the same b.s.! Amanda m. Lee can tie up all the loose ends in one book! Touched'
This series keeps getting better with each new addition. How Ms. Lee keeps improving on perfection is beyond me but she does. This book had my favorite characters of all of the series by Amanda M Lee and her other pen names, visiting Detroit. Actually, a few different characters pop end and each one was a surprising shock. This book adds more dimensions to Luna too. This is a must read once you read the other books in this series in order. Awesome read, I am bummed it ended.
If you can get past the part with Zoe early on it will get better
I've read the books with Zoe and understand that driving others daft is a weapon. But it goes to the extreme and becomes almost a reason to not read this book. UGH It does get better after she calms down. Time travel is great unless there are unscrupulous people, vampires and witches. Some are after wealth, some are after fame, and some are just evil. Nothing is solved in this book, just a reaffirmation of love and family.
Luna is enjoying some time with Jesse when a bunch of vampires attack the location and they seem to be sick. She gets help from an unexpected ally, one she knows by name but had never met, is he friend or foe? A new threat appears and even though he claims to be more than he appears, Luna’s instincts are telling her, there is no way. Once again dear friends come to the help and Luna finds out there are secrets close family members have been keeping that could make or brake the relationship. All part of another day in Luna’s life.
I want to jump up and down and talk about all the amazing things that happen in the book, but I would never spoil the joy for you. Suffice to say that this is a MUST read for fans of Luna, and that to read it out of the series sequence would diminish the impact & confuse a novice. Exciting, funny, snarky, mind blowing, and satisfying, "Vexing Vampires" is a stellar read! Thanks Amanda!
Oh my goddess, I absolutely NEED the potion ingredients listing and directions for the exploding diarrhea spell 🤣. I just love the crazy antics of Zoe (just not her narcissistic methods). Nothing but exhilarating paths from the second I started the book. So happy for Luna and gang, just wish there was more Izzy (she is one of my favorite characters and hate that her series was short lived). October cant get here fast enough.
Excellent reading. I love when other characters like Zoe and her family come to help out. The Grimlocks are a loving crazy family. Luna gets help when she doesn't even know she needs it. The part when baby Lily suddenly has a future self is fun. Can't wait to find out Boone's fate. What other memories will Luna get?
Just released and already on my list of favourite books. I loved the story, the characters are great and I enjoyed all the shenanigans going on in Grimlock Manor. I’m absolutely looking forward to the next book in the series and can’t wait to get my hands on it. 5 stars for sure.
This was a really good read. I want to say so much, but it all would be spoilers, and we'll that is just not fair. If you enjoy the antics of Luna, the Cathedral, and the Grimlocks, you will really enjoy this story!
I enjoy all of the books in this series but this one is one of the best. Twists you’ll never expect! Plus it was great to have Rafael around again. I’ll definitely be re-reading this one. Can’t wait for the next book.
Sick deadly vampires and a new danger. Great characters, danger, mystery and humor. I love the support Luna gets from the family she made. No cliffhanger and happy for now. Can't wait to read the next book.
Just when you thought the last book was the best one, along comes the next one and you discover that this one is the best one! I love everything about this book except that it ended and now I have to wait for the next one!
spectacular adventure with plenty of laughs along the way
What can I say I love Luna and her made family. Epic adventure that has some reveal moments that gives us a peak into the complexity of Luna. A blast to read. Hoping the next adventure comes sooner rather than later
Another wonderful book to read. I love the way you write. I love the way you are adding The Grim locks and Aric,Zoe and Sami. It will be a long wait for the next book. Thank you for writing these wonderful books.
The plot lines vary from suspense, to laughter, to anxiety. The characters are great, relatable and interesting. I love seeing everyone working together.
