For twelve years, this book has been my life—but I didn’t know it was only just starting… When I was sixteen years old, I found this old, leather-bound spell book at a garage sale. Something about it drew me to it, and when I noticed that it was written in an unfamiliar language, I decided that I wouldn’t stop until I could read it.

I obsessed over it all through the rest of high school, then college. I couldn’t get past the idea that it could be a real grimoire, telling myself that it would be super rad to be able to use magic, or maybe even travel to another world like in that movie from a couple of years ago, Labyrinth. After all, wouldn’t it be great to find my very own Jareth?

For some reason, this book has always made me feel like it was the answer to my happily-ever-after. And when I translate the Verus Amor spell and discover it really is a true love spell, I decide to give it a try.

Instead of a Goblin King, though, I accidentally summon a fearsome horned man into my home. With shocking white skin and glowing blue eyes, he crooks his claw imperiously, expecting me to follow him. And when I don’t? He leaves before returning with a shadowy creature—and a pair of gold chains for me.

Next thing I know, I’m pulled to another world and thrown in a dungeon cell, Duke Haures’s human prisoner. At least, that’s what I think I am.

The powerful demon duke? He knows better.

He knows that I’m the one true mate he’s waited two millennia for… and he’ll do anything to keep me.

I don’t know why I’m so drawn to this series despite spelling errors, misuse of words and in this volume, actual blanks where the name of the demon lurking behind the throne should have been supplied. I’m usually really picky about these kinds of errors but I give them a pass here.

Anyway, I was really happy to read about Susanna and Haure’s romance. It was also fun to find out how the Grimoire du Sombra came to be located on earth (Sixth time’s the charm)

Sad to see the last of Sombra but looking forward to the author’s next book(s)

P.S. I looked up Bon Jovi’s Runaway on YouTube. OMG, all that hair!

A good end to the series that ties up some loose ends/ answers questions from the other books in the series.

It was a shame that there were so many errors in the book. There were unfinished sentences, missing words, and wrong words as well as other grammar mistakes which hopefully can be fixed soon.

Someone forgot to edit

This one felt a bit…. hasty. The plot wasn’t all that well thought out, actions occurred that earlier in the book they said didn’t/couldn’t, it has spots where it contradicts earlier books, and little to no editing happened. There’s even spots where a name was obviously going to be inserted but they forgot to go back and insert the name.

Great story and an amazing conclusion to this series. Did deduct a star due to typos, errors, and some sloppy writing here and there. In two instance an underscore is placed in a sentence instead of a demons name. This happens twice on the same page. The errors got worse the further into the book you get.

Reading this one last gives you all the answers you are missing through the series. This was a great way to get to know the Duke and Susanna. We see where the story starts from without getting all the spoilers first. With reading this book last you get all of the jaw dropping twists. I loved this series and it was such a quick read.

Susanna & Huares

I’ve absolutely loved every book of Sombra Demons, all of the human women meant for a Sombra Demon. The books have been perfectly written, I’ve immersed myself in this World and I’m so sad to see the end. Huares & Susanna was a perfect way to close this. These book boyfriends had spice, charm, devotion even when being clueless.
