Rosalind Tate lives in Gloucestershire, England, and holidays on the Cornish coast. She served in the British military, then worked as a journalist and a lawyer. She has grown up children, a tolerant husband and two utterly gorgeous dogs.

I received an advanced review copy of this book from the author. This is my honest review.

This is the last book in the Shorten Chronicles series that documents the time travels and troubles of Sophie, Hugo, Freddie and Charlotte (Sophie’s Labradoodle).

If I thought that the last book was as dangerous an adventure as it could get for the group I was wrong. The tension ramps up dramatically in this final instalment.

Sophie desperately wants to get back to her daughter, Bella and Freddie is missing his love, Clarissa. Even Charlotte wants to get back home to Jack.

Janus has different plans for the various universes making the journey home a hazardous undertaking, if it should even be made at all. The alternative is not feasible if they want to be reunited with their loved ones but is the risk too great?

This has been a truly great read full of ups and downs.

Endgame, the sixth instalment of the Shorten Chronicles, brings this excellent series to a thrilling conclusion. The stakes couldn’t be higher for Sophie in this race against time to find the artefact that she hopes will reunite her with her young daughter. There are twists and turns aplenty as Sophie, Hugo, Freddy, and Charlotte the dog endeavour to survive the perils of nineteenth-century London, all the while fearing for their lives and unsure of whom to trust. The action builds steadily to a thundering showdown with an ancient Roman god who will stop at nothing to destroy them.
What a fabulous series! I didn’t want it to end.

I would have liked to see more of a wrap-up. I felt like there should have been more about what each person did after the adventure.
