Moon Shadows: A Reader's Choice Tale

Rate this book
Fresh from a break-up, John’s routine jog becomes a run in with fear when he is surrounded by a pack of larger than life wolves. There’s no time to wonder how these creatures arrived in non-wolf country, CA. They want a snack and he’s clean out of Scooby treats.

When the alpha arrives, John is given a choice. Surrender to his previously hidden animal instincts or leave and never look back. Something in the fierce creature’s eyes holds him enthralled and his decision is made. By night’s end, his life is changed—forever.

This book is an adult tale which offers a reader’s choice for you to pick the pack’s alpha. Make it a She-Wolf or a He-Wolf. Or read both.

How steamy do you like your romance? The heat level of this adventure is placed in your hands. Read John’s journey in its entirety. Or skip past the hotness to the happily ever after.

Enjoy reading the way you like it. Or try it with a twist.

Do you talk back to your novel? Does a character in a book ever do something you don’t want them to do? Kenzie Mack puts some of the power in reader’s hands with her creative and captivating debut Moon Shadows.

Growing up, I read those choose-your-own books, where I was instructed to go to page X if you wanted to take one road, or page Y for another decision. Mack brings that fun back in an electronic Reader’s Choice.

My first glimpse into Mack’s book was during a short story class. I remember being caught up in the storyline, and wondering “what would happen next?” That’s when she sprung the idea on me. I wasn’t quite sure how it would play out, but after reading the finished Kindle version it all comes together quite craftily.

The book offers varied heat levels, and a variance in the mate choice. If you’re a reader open to possibilities, think of it as twice the fun! I look forward to seeing what else is in store.

Growing up, I loved reading choose your own adventure books. It was a treat to read an adult version where the reader can choose the heat level as well as the gender of the alpha wolf.

John is the kind of protagonist the reader can't help but root for. He has a void inside him and is searching for the home the wolf pack and Ebony can provide.

I'm looking forward to the next installment in this spicy werewolf series.

Moon Shadows by Kenzie Mack is a new take on love at first sight. Our handsome hero went out for a jog, encountered great danger, and found the love/lust of his life. Kenzie constructed the story to allow the reader to choose the path and degree of hotness of the story. A tight, suspenseful, well-written paranormal love story. Can't wait for the next installment.

A great beginning to a great series! When jogging John hears something and before he knows it he's surrounded by wolves but they're not ordinary wolves. What happens next in a way depends on the reader because you can choose the sex of his partner and how much heat you want in the story. And once you're done you can go back and make a new choice. This is a fun way to read a story and I very much enjoy it.

The author gives you a story that you want more of with glimpses of characters you can't wait to learn more about. I definite read for anyone who loves shifter books and would enjoy a fun new way to read a book.

This is one of the hottest books I've read in awhile. The reader's choice feature allows you to choose whether or not his partner is male or female. I read both, and it was fantastic! The story was fast-paced and riveting, so I read it all the way through without putting it down, anxious to see what would happen next. I've never read a shifter book before (Unless the Twilight series counts) and it was extremely erotic! I'll definitely be reading the rest of this series and more from this author.

I've always loved those choose your own adventure books when I was little so this book brought back those fun memories. While this is a very quick read it's quite fun and you can choose your level of hotness as you go along. I do wish this was a lot longer with more options to make it more fun. But this for sure is a great quickie read with a unique twist of which path you want to go on first. For sure a great start to a series of them. Only downfall is the ride is over too quick.

Wow! This is one of the most creative books I've ever read. Remember the "Choose Your Own Adventure" books from when you were a kid? Well, this is one of those but with a sexy werewolf shifter as the main character. Lots of other sexy werewolves show up and the steamy hotness ensues. What a treat to discover this new author. If you like shifters, sexy romantic scenes or choosing your own storyline, this is a fantastic read!

Interesting Werewolf story.

I was tweeting with the author when she asked if I would read and review her book, of course I would! I’ll give this book a 3.5 as it’s fairly short, chose your story type of read and an interesting take on the werewolf genre. It’s also hot and steamy which is a bit out of my genre, but this book was fun and the author has an excellent voice. If you want a hot, mini romance story with a twist? This is perfect for you!! Enjoy!

I have never seen a 'choose your own path' erotica before. This really made the story even more interesting than a singular path alone. The protagonist is written somewhere on the bisexual scale which as a pansexual myself, I found incredibly cool. Choose the events of your own sexy adventure with werewolves by deciding if you wish the character to mate with a he-wolf or a she-wolf. Wonderfully creative and erotic.

I don't read romance much, so I don't have anything to compare this to, but the book was well-written and the story plotted well. It was tight and short, so no needless baggage. I also found it interesting how you were able to choose a version of the story. If this is a genre you're interested in, it's definitely worth a read.

Fun, exciting.

I have never read an interactive story before, so that was great!

The story was hot and exciting even for how short it was. You can choose the level of hotness as you go. Very exciting book.

This action packed suspenseful novella was a fun read. The romance was hot, with an option to bypass which of course I didn't. I can't wait to read the next book in this series.

This was a fun summer read - I loved being able to choose the direction of parts of the story. I ended up going back and reading each combination because I enjoyed the story!

This reminded me of those books we used to read as a kid where you got the choose which path your characters took but in adult form. It was basically where you could choose if one of the characters were male or female. They if it got sexy or not. Even though there were a few different paths to go, reading all of them went fairly fast. Most of the scenes were in both paths you could go. So after reading the first time, I skipped that part the second go around.

Was it entertaining....yes. Was it OMG I must have more.... no. This is more a lunch time filler read than an action packed, emotional roller coaster ride book. This was short, no back ground information provided, just story that happens in a 24 hour time span. No hearts and flowers, no time to become emotionally attached to the characters, just 30 minutes of lunch time entertainment. That isn't a bad thing, don't get me wrong, but to read this you need to go in with your eyes open to that fact.

All in all, an entertaining read. Written as a single pov. You can chose the sweet route (which basically skips the sex scene) or the erotic route (which was really very minor compared to most erotica that I read.)

Would I recommend this book? Yes, as long as you know this isn't your typical read.

Would I read more from this author? Yes (but not sure if I would do Readers Choice - if it was longer probably)

This was my first interactive ebook. Of course, I had to read both options. Moon Shadows is a fun read with lots of heat. This was my first Kenzie Mack book but I'll be happy to read more from this author. Moon Shadows is a short read. It's not a cliff-hanger.
