Hollywood is full of scandals…what’s one more?

When Amelia’s identical twin sister, Zoey, asks her to step in for her at a conference for supernatural TV shows while she auditions for a blockbuster movie, Amelia reluctantly agrees. She could use the money to keep her mini highland cow rescue, Mizzou Moos, afloat. She can pretend to be famous for twenty-four hours. What could possibly go wrong?

Lindsay Brooks hates playing babysitter to the stars, but that’s part of her job as assistant producer for the breakout show Thirteen Witches. Things get confusing when sparks fly between her and one of the main leads at the con, and all hell breaks loose when evidence surfaces of the actress and her identical twin switching places. Everyone’s in an uproar about getting duped, but Lindsay’s more concerned about finding out which twin she made out with.

That kiss made her melt and no one else has ever made her feel like swooning, but tracking Amelia down and getting to the truth might change the course of her career. She’s prepared to lose her job, but losing her heart would be scandalous.

3.25⭐️ Amelia and Zoey are twins who grew up on a farm in Missouri. Zoey has gone to Hollywood to become a tv star. Amelia has stayed on the farm and started an animal rescue operation, giving tours and barely making it on donations.

Zoey needs to audition for a movie at the same time as she needs to be at a HEXCON convention in Vegas. So she begs Amelia to pretend to be her for the convention for 24 hours. Everything goes to hell when they get caught by a fan. The only good part is that Amelia meets Lindsey., a producer for Zoey ‘s TV show.

I liked the beginning of the book. The switcheroo was funny. I liked all the characters and the dialogue was good. A few times I had to reread a paragraph to figure out who was speaking. The rescue animals were cute and even though it would be a ton of work, it would be a job that I would like. I would have liked the book to be longer and have more angst.

Overall a fun and quick read. Thanks to Net Galley for the opportunity to read and review this. ARC.

4.5 rounded up.

I've become a pretty big Kris Bryant fan over the years. Yes, I've liked some of her books better than others, but there's always something good in them. I went back and forth several times before requesting Scandalous from NetGalley because I have a hard time with the lying that is a given in a twin-swapping story. One of the love interests is going to be fooled and, for me, it's almost always an uncomfortable situation. I'm a firm believer in open, honest communication - both in real life and in my romance novels. There's plenty of angst and drama to be found without miscommunication or lies to be needed as a plot device. But I like Bryant, so I figured, what the hell?

Luckily, the deceit doesn't last long and then we get lots of communication. Sure, there's still some things that either or both don't want to talk about, but it wasn't used as a way to ratchet up the drama.

I loved Lindsay and Amelia together. Very different women with different needs and careers but they fit so well together. But the best part of the book? The animals, hands down. And the little logo at the beginning of the book makes me so happy! It's worth picking up a print or ebook copy just to see it. Also, my wife absolutely refuses to let me get a mini cow. She's mean but also probably very smart to deny my life's dream of owning a cow.

There's also some intrigue mixed in with the love and sweet, sweet farm babies. It was fine. I'm not sure how much it adds or takes away from the main story, but it was fine.

My only real issue with the book will probably be fixed by the time it's published. There were still lots of typos, extra or missing words, and stuff like that. All proofreader stuff and I don't know that it went that far before NetGalley got it.

So, as far as I'm concerned, Scandalous is another hit for Ms. Bryant.

Big thanks to Bold Strokes Books and NetGalley for hooking me up with an ARC!

3 .75⭐️ round up to 4, and 3.5🌶

Ok, so the premise of this book drew me in. Who doesn't love a little twin swapping a la the parent trap? Add in a side of celebrity vs small town cowgirl and you've got the basic concepts here.

The twins Zoey and Amelia couldn't be more opposites. That alone should have been easily discernible. The fact none of Zoey's costars figured it out is crazy, but that just added to the hijinks of the swap.

Lindsay, the poor PA who has to corral the TV stars at the tv con, really didn't understand her sudden attraction to the slightly different Zoey.

The slow burn between Amelia and Lindsay will draw you in. The fallout from the twin swap let's you see what could have happened if Amelia and Lindsay didn't meet under the false pretense.

The escape back to the farm and plot to save the animal rescue let's the slow moving story unfold. One of the small detractions for me was the inability to communicate feelings between the FMCs. they do end up speaking their truth/ feelings but it seemed to drag out a bit too long.

All in all, I enjoyed this story, it easy could be another hallmark holiday movie. If you're looking for that cute animal loving back story this has it in spades. I mean I would help the Mizzou Moos in a New York second.

I want to thank Netgalley and Bold stroke books for the early opportunity.

The cover, title and the blurb don’t do justice to what the book contains, they only reflect the initial premise. The story begins with Amelia and Zoey switching places, bringing good tension. The connection between Amelia and Lindsey felt palpable and was sweet. Most of the book is about the twins facing the consequences of their mistakes and try to save the rescue with Lindsey’s help and the two MCs having opposites lives. The farm felt like a cocoon. Bryant shows well how cancel cultrure works these days and how unfair it can be. There is also some underliying mystery around people possibly wanting to harm the twins, making this book a well balanced book. Did the some things seem way too good to be true and last in the long way ? Sure, but will that matter to you? It’s sweet and comforting!

First off, don’t judge a book by its cover. Because this cover does not match what the book is about. Scandalous is a cute, cozy story. The cover had me thinking it was going to be less plot driven and more spicy(which isn’t my thing). I’m not sure the thought process behind the cover, yes it takes place in Hollywood at the beginning but that is such a small part of the story and the majority of it takes places in Missouri.

This book is so freaking cute. There was very little angst and the plot was unique. I wasn’t sure how I felt about the whole twin switch thing. I was afraid it would take up too much of the plot and a lot of the book would be Lindsay trying to figure out which twin she kissed. Thankfully, the switch part was only a couple of chapters.

What’s cuter and more adorable than Mini Highland Cows? Freaking Lindsay and Amelia, that’s what. The way they care about each other and other people is so sweet and refreshing. I love the found family of Scandalous. There is mentions of parental deaths, so please be mindful of that.

This was such a cozy read and I feel like I will definitely be rereading in the future. I can see this being a book I come back to again and again when I need comfort. Thank you so much to NetGalley and the publisher for allowing me to read the ARC in exchange for an honest review. I 100% recommend reading Scandalous by Kris Bryant!

The original idea was cute, twins switching places, one an actor and the other runs a rescue farm. Amelia, who runs the rescue, fills in a a con for her sister, who is going on an audition. Amelia meets Lindsay, who works for the studio at the con. They are definitely drawn to each other. Zoey, the actor twin, can’t get back to the con in time and the twins get caught switching places. Lindsay quits her job in protest of Zoey losing her job. It could been a really good book, but the stakes were too low. The writing was too simplistic and lacked sophistication. Too many short sentences and a distinct lack of emotion took away from the development of the characters. Everything was just a little too easy and no real conversations left me a bit empty. It’s an ok book, just not better than ok for me.

This is a fabulous book! Amelia runs a mini sanctuary in Missouri. Her identical twin sister Zoey is an up and coming actress. Lindsay works as a production assistant on the show Zoey stars in. The trouble ensues when Zoey has an audition for a movie the same day she's to be at a convention. So she enlists Amelia to stand in for her at the con! Lindsay is the one in charge of the group of actors from the show. When Amelia (as Zoey) goes to dinner with Lindsay and then kisses her, sparks fly! But then the twins are outed! This is a beautiful love story and you'll love the minis! A FAVORITE! 5 Stars!!

I received an ARC copy of this book from the Publisher via Netgalley and voluntarily leaving my review.

Amelia needs the money for Mizzou Moos, a mini highland cow rescue that she owns so she agrees to step in for her twin sister Zoey who can be at two places at once they did before what could go wrong. Amelia meets Lindsay who is a PA what shocking to Lindsay is her sudden attraction to Zoey when she learn the truth it’s becomes a slow burn between Amelia and Lindsay. I find it very funny with Zoey costars who couldn’t tell the difference when they spend a lot of time together because they both are different and it’s shows. Cute read some angst and can’t go wrong with animals in the story.

would like to thank netgalley and the publisher for letting me read this awesome book

amelia and zoey are twins and they use to play tricks on people when they were younger by swopping identities with each other.... and though they hadnt done it in years when zoey asked amelia for this favour how could amelia refuse

so thats how amelia found herself at vegas being her sister at a convention

what amelia hadnt counted on was meeting lindsay

lindsay was an assistant producer on set of thirteen witches and with that came a lot of responsibility what she hated most though was being babysitter to the stars and her role at this moment was to keep them organised and to turn up when they were needed

what she hadnt expected was to spend a few hours with zoey and their kiss was off the charts.....

what nobody saw coming was the scandal that happened when a clip was released showing zoey and amelia swopping roles....

it caused no end of trouble

what a read... i loved it all .... the journey of discovery and the farm and all its needs but it was also the journey and realisation for lindsay and amelia wow just wow

The start of the book is fun with the twin swap between the famous actress Zoey and Amelia running an animal sanctuary. Amelia heads to Vegas pretending to be Zoey at a conference Zoey can audition for a new role. While Amelia is in Vegas, she meets the production assistant Lindsey and chemistry there, but she must back off and pretend to be Zoey. Zoey finally joins Amelia in Vegas, and they can switch back, but the switch is exposed and both Zoey and Lindsey lose their job. Fortunately, Zoey proposes that she and Lindsey visit the farm and help Amelia out, she is struggling with the finances. Obvious for everyone that Amelia and Lindsey are perfect for each other and Lindsey is the perfect fit to help with the farm promotion. The question is whether this is a temporary hook-up or can they find a way to make it work more long term.

I really liked the twin swap in the beginning and would have loved that to drag out a lot longer to see how Amelia and Lindsey struggle to stay off each other. The farm part is cute but not as interesting apart for the bad guy part trying to destroy the idyllic life there. A nice read I can recommend if you want an angst free sweet read.

The problem with blurb sometimes is you know a plot point and you kind of want it to hurry up and happen so you can see the aftermath because that bit you don’t know. That was the probably insurmountable problem I had for the start of this book. Instead of just enjoying the relationship development I was waiting for it to go wrong as the initial relationship was based on a false premise.
I have to say a plot point straight after the blurb point happens really got me interested, in a way the preceding bits hadn’t.
My interest sort of held but I confess to wondering how the plot would fill out the quite substantial amount of book left.
The book went on, as did I, neither really interested nor disinterested.
Perhaps my ambivalent attitude meant the first intimate scene didn’t then work for me. Some of the word choices pulled me out of the scene.
There should be tension from the imminent departure, but I’m just not feeling it. Having said all that, the aftermath of the departure is well written. For this reason, despite my ambivalence for most of the book, it’s a 3 from me.

This was such a cute, yet thrilling sapphic romance! Didn’t really know what to expect going into it, but enjoyed every second of it! The MCs had great chemistry and the storyline was so unique and fun to read. Plus, who could hate a book about a rescue farm and two women falling in love?!

Thank you NetGalley, Bold Strokes Books and Kris Bryant for this ARC! I am happy to leave my honest review.

Scandalous is a really fun and flirty love story with heartwarming vulnerability. I was immediately intrigued by the cover of this book along with the title. The title captured my attention because I love reading scandalous and taboo sapphic love stories wrought with intrigue and sizzle. I really enjoyed this book and found myself thoroughly entertained until the last page. This was my first book by Kris Bryant and I loved it! I will absolutely seek out more from this author. Scandalous is fun, humorous and riddled with delightfully chaotic moments that both highly and further the central love story. I love sapphic romance with a celebrity twist and the glitz and glamor that only can provide. Okay, so I will admit that there is a little bait and switch in this regard because very little of the story actually takes place in Hollywood and instead is mostly in Missouri. However, you’ll hear no complaints from me. I admit that this story wasn't exactly what I’d had in mind, but in many ways, exceeded my expectations.

I really enjoyed this story! I found it to be such a unique take on a celebrity romance. Amelia is a sweet and humble young woman who runs a mini Highland cow rescue in Missouri called Mizzour Moos. This prompted me to research mini highland cows and I am officially in love! They are so incredibly cute! Honestly, scrolling image after image of these sweet, fluffy and adorable mini cows made me fall a little in love with Amelia too. I just figure any woman who would dedicate her life to the care and rescue of these sweet creatures must be a woman with a heart of gold, kindness of character and humility to boot. Amelia’s identical twin sister is an actress on a hit tv show and begs her to impersonate her at a fan convention so she can run off to audition for a big movie part. Amelia, against her better judgement, agrees. She is just supposed to smile for pictures with fans , schmooze a bit and earn some dough to help her ailing mini cow sanctuary. Of course, nothing is ever as easy as it seems…especially when deception is involved. Things go a bit hardwire and there is definitely some backlash. But before that, there is Lindsay. Lindsay Brooks is the assistant producer on Zoey’s show and is burdened with the task of making sure the convention goes off without a hitch. Lindsay is sharp, hard working and more than a little guarded from years working with celebrities. The sweet storm really unfolds as Linsday and Amelia (pretending to be Zoey) hit it off. I mean sparks fly between them and their chemistry is all too real. Lindsay is taken by how down to earth and genuine “Zoey” is and things heat up quickly. Unfortunately, when the truth about the twin swapping comes to light, a scandal ensues. Needless to say careers are threatened and reputations are questions in the wake of the fall out but all that Lindsay can think about is love. Who did she fall for and was it real? Ooohhh ladies and gentlemen, it gets good!

The writing is super easy to read and so engaging. Kris Bryant’s writing is lighthearted but also intentional and emotionally resonant. I was delighted with wonderful dialogue and descriptions. Bryant certainly paints a picture with words and provides elegant sensory details. I was impressed and greatly appreciated her voice. Lindsay and Amelia were special. Both of their characters were written with such care and I found them both to be really loveable. Their connection was believable and the gentle sensuality expressed was really beautiful. Their romance felt so realistic and swoon worthy. I was rooting for them all along. It is always satisfying to read about good things happening for good people and I was thrilled with their happiness ever after!

Kris Bryant delivers a charming and delightfully witty sapphic romance that is as tender and heartfelt as it is entertaining. The pacing was on point for me. There wasn’t a great deal of angst in this story and the central romance is a real joy to watch unfold. I found the relationship between Lindsay and Amelia to be authentic and believed in their love. I found myself smiling through most of this book and can't wait to read more by Kris Bryant. I found Scandalous to be a feel good romance that was so much fun to read. I highly recommend it for fans of sapphic romance with emotional depth, believable love and a bunch of chaotic intrigue. This is a fantastic book that you will want to read and re-read.

*Possible Spoilers*

Scandalous by Kris Bryant is a cute, inconsequential romance about a loyal farm girl (Amelia), and an ambitious big-city girl (Lindsay). It feels exactly like watching the Hallmark channel. The main couple has mediocre chemistry, and tends to handle situations in slightly icky and immature ways. The plot was more interesting. Figuring out who was trying to sabotage Amelia’s animal reserve was what kept me going.

Amelia didn’t appeal to me as a character. She just doesn’t have any personality past being a country workaholic who doesn’t have the money to keep her passion afloat. Her parents are dead, too, figures. I did respect her absolute loyalty and love for her sister, Zoey. So often books like this have rocky sister relationships. Seeing a relationship where both sisters would drop everything for each other is nice. I could see/read the love she has for the people and animals she loves. I just wish she was more human and less of a cliche.

I wasn’t in love with some of her responses to situations including Lindsay, her love interest. When Lindsay doesn’t instantly jump at going to dinner with her, Amelia’s disappointment reads slightly like a teenage boy: “It stung and Amelia couldn’t help but react…She took a step back, shoved her hands in her pockets, and turned on her heel.” Rejection isn’t fun, but please react maturely, you’re an adult. Also, feeling jealous and inferior because Lindsay has an objectively pretty boss; red flag.

I liked Lindsay more than Amelia. She’s ambitious, a planner, and, like Amelia, a bit afraid of letting go. I respect the fact that she took a stand against unfair treatment of women in the workplace. Also like Amelia, I basically know nothing about her. Her life before the start of the book isn’t really mentioned. I wasn’t exactly rooting for her, but I definitely didn’t dislike her.

I liked the farm-house mystery part of the plot. I enjoyed riding with the characters as they tried to figure out who was burning down barns and dishing out threats. Chilling with Amelia’s plethora of cute animals was fun. The twin-switch plot felt like an unnecessary catalyst. It worked to get the plot moving, but any other Hallmark-style trope could’ve done the job well, and streamlined it more. Maybe I just found the whole “switching with your twin and making out with her acquaintance-level colleague” plot uninteresting.

While this wasn’t my favorite book, it did have a few things it did well. I loved Becks and Robbie, the farm hands. A cute, supportive sapphic couple, and the most chill out of the characters. The animals were cute, the influencer career was incredibly expedited, but I’ll go with it, and it had a happy ending where no one gives up her dream to follow her partner around. If you’re into cable channel romances, but want a more sapphic twist, this is probably for you.

Thank you to NetGalley and Bold Strokes Books for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

(3.5 Stars) Breezy story with likable characters. Amelia runs a small animal rescue farm which includes goats and mini highland cows in Missouri. Her twin sister Zoey is a Hollywood actress on a tv show. When Zoey has an audition for a part in a new movie that conflicts with a fan conference in Las Vegas she asks Amelia to come and pretend to be her for 24 hours. In Vegas Amelia meets Lindsay Brooks who is an assistant producer on the show. Her job in Vegas is to make sure the talent stays out of trouble and gets to all the contracted appearances.

That is pretty much a summary of the blurb on the book and it all happens in the first third of the book. It was also my favorite part of the story. I could have gone on longer with the twinning shenanigans. But the story changes to the rescue farm where there is a fall out from the bad public relations as the switcheroo goes public. Lindsay comes to Missouri to see if she can get to know Amelia better and help promote the rescue.

First, the cover is beautiful but tells me nothing about the story. With more than half the book being about an animal rescue farm with adorable mini highland cows, how are they not part of the cover? And nothing about the cover says Missouri Farm girl. Second, the whole twinning switch seemed like a stretch of a way to get Lindsay and Amelia to meet. Third, Amelia is the least interesting of the three characters. All I know about her is that she is devoted to her animals and works very, very hard.

There are things that worked for me. The twin relationship. I liked that they supported each other at the drop of a hat. Lindsay is creative and driven. She jumps in with her talents and thinks of out of the box ways to help the farm. I liked the sapphic neighbor couple. And I liked the bit of mystery about who was causing issues on the farm, although the answer was fairly obvious. And I liked that Lindsay and Amelia don’t go further than a kiss before true identities are known.

I’ve enjoyed and given other books by Bryant five stars. This one isn’t as memorable for me but I am still happy to have read this low angst story. Thank you to NetGalley and Bold Strokes Books for the eARC and I am leaving an honest review.

Double the fun!

Amelia covers for her twin Zoey at a convention for the TV show she is in, but only because the money will help her with her mini highland cow rescue. There Amelia meets Lindsay who is assistant producer for the show and keeping everyone where they should be for the weekend. When Amelia and Zoey are caught switching places, everything starts going wrong, but leaves Lindsay wondering about the connection and kiss she shared with Amelia, so much so she will do anything to help her out.

This was so much fun to read! Amelia wasn’t thrilled about going to the con, but I think she had a better time than she thought, especially with Lindsay around. They had a great connection, but that meant things got awkward really quickly when they shared moments together and a kiss. I was relieved that the truth came out about her and Zoey switching places because it then meant we got a chance to really know her, as did Lindsay. That’s when the real sparks started and I was all for it.

Lindsay’s actions from the moment she found out about the switch to when she turned up at the rescue to help told us all we needed to know. She was a good person through to her very core. She was selfless and although the scandal had nothing to do with her, she was loyal to Zoey when the production company were unhappy about everything, and she made sacrifices to her career for both Zoey and Amelia to go and help with the rescue when they were accused of using the funds for other things. I admired her dedication and smart ideas to get them back on track.

I enjoyed every second of this and loved the connection Lindsay and Amelia had immediately. As soon as she knew who Amelia really was that only deepened and I knew there would be no tearing them apart from one another. Zoey added a lot of fun into the mix of the story too, and was a great sister and friend to Lindsay. I hope we have a follow up story in the future, because I am excited to know more about Amelia and Lindsay’s future.

Amelia and Zoey are identical twin sisters. Zoey is an up-and-coming TV star in Hollywood and is currently featured in the supernatural series, Thirteen Witches. She must attend a Las Vegas conference for supernatural TV shows but she has already booked an audition for a blockbuster movie. She doesn't want to give up her dream of potentially staring in the movie so she asks Amelia to attend the first day of the conference in her place. What could go wrong? Amelia hesitantly agrees to help her sister in exchange for some of the conference and selfie funds to keep her mini highland cow rescue, Mizzou Moos, afloat.

Lindsay Brooks is a production assistant for Thirteen Witches and will attend the conference in Vegas to coordinate the schedule and needs of the show's stars. Although she is a lesbian and Zoey is just out of a relationship and supposedly straight, sparks fly when Lindsay and "Zoey" connect at the conference. Little does Lindsay know that it is not actually Zoey, but rather her sister, Amelia. Eventually they get caught, but Lindsay and Amelia can't seem to forget their short time together and the sparks that they generated in Vegas.

This was a charming book with the two main characters meeting in a unique way and add in all of the animals at Mizzou Moos and the charm factor just increased. I also enjoyed the mystery addition that occurred just when the rescue was climbing out of the trenches and that a potential tragedy brought the main characters and the supporting characters together to fight for the rescue and the animals. I thought sparks flied in the spicy scenes between Amelia and Lindsay and the level of communication between the two women in those scenes was refreshing. Finally, there were several typos in the book that should be corrected. A good edit is in order. 4.25 stars

Scandalous follows Amelia, the owner of Mizzou Moos, a mini highland cow rescue, who ends up being convinced to dress up as her twin sister, Zoey, for a comic con convention. They have swapped places before but this is the first time they've done it in public to strangers, but Zoey has a movie audition and and can't be in two places at once, and Mizzou Moos needs the money. What could go wrong? Unfortunately, Lindsey, the production assistant tasked with babysitting the actors at the convention discovers what could go wrong, but just maybe it could lead to something right.

This was a fun read. I've always enjoy Kris Bryant's books. They are funny, warm hearted, and quick and easy reads. They never take me more than a couple of days and I tend to come back to them in the future, and this is no exception. Who doesn't love cute animals and the people who take care of them! It's a favorite trope of mine. Amelia is strong, caring, self-less woman that prioritizes everyone else over herself and gives her all in supporting those who she love. Lindsey is self-driven, creative, and ambitious, and uses those skills to help the rescue. I'll admit, I wasn't fully prepared for where the story went, but I really enjoyed the ride. Add in some fun side characters in the form of cows and donkey's, and you got a great story.

All in all, another enjoyable book and I would recommend it to fans of contemporary romance and of Kris Bryant.

Amelia and Zoey are twins, but otherwise different. Amelia runs a animal rescue, Zoey is a actress on a hit TV show and wants to do movies. She needs to do a movie audition, but is booked at the same time for a con... so she asks Amelia to stand in for her. They meet at Z's apartment, and go over who's who.
Lindsay Brooks is there on behalf of the show, and instantly notices something off with 'Zoey'. She's less outgoing, less self absorbed and seems nicer, oddly.
(Amelia learns from a comment that Zoey has a gambling problem.)
Lindsay and 'Zoey' really click, and they enjoy each other's company. They go out for dinner, drink a bit too much and nearly sleep together, until Amelia remembers she's in disguise and should not sleep with her.
Zoey is delayed arriving, so Amelia is stuck another day. They switch, Amelia heads home... and it turns out they get caught. Was not expecting that.
Zoey gets fired, Lindsey quits in protest, and all end up back at Amelia's farm. As the scandal is hurting the animal rescue, Lindsay offers to help promote it...
As they save the rescue, there is mysterious sabotage, including fences cut and a fire.
Third act breakup.
Good wrap up. The third act breakup felt kind of unnecessary, but tastes vary. I liked the romance and writing, everything worked pretty well.

Scandalous packs an emotional punch under the trope of twin swapping in a surprisingly soft way. It nails its beats and the characters breathe and grow as one struggles to find a new purpose and spark, while the other overcomes a cynical world view.

The title and the cover don't particular mesh with a story that largely takes place, and is about, an animal rescue farm in the Midwest. And while scandal does impact the story and is a backdrop for Lindsay (big city girl looking for a fresh start) and Amelia (small town twin of a famous star) struggling, it is hardly the most important part.

Kris Bryant does a wonderful job of weaving a tense, looming problem throughout the book that doesn't take away from the budding romance, but does provide a contrasting undercurrent of uncertainty. Like Amelia, Kris's passion for the animals and attention to them is adorable, but I would have appreciated the same attention given to Amelia and Lindsay outside of their feelings for one another. Amelia is fairly flat as a character outside of her relationships to others.

Overall, this is a cute, low stakes romance the likes you'd find on streaming. If you came for the spice, just know its a bit stale. As always, thank you Bold Strokes Books, Inc. for the book for review consideration via NetGalley and it is written with full honesty.

To start off, I want to say that I really enjoyed this story. I was worried that the twin switching plot would be longer in the story and take longer for people to find out that the Amelia and Zoey switched places and be harder for the two main characters to move past, I was pleasantly surprised that the twin switching plot was over pretty early into the book and we got to spend more time seeing the relationship between Amelia and Lindsay develop.
The pacing of this story, I feel, was perfect. While there was initial attraction, it took time for Amelia and Lindsey to build up their relationship and not just jump into it. I loved Zoey's character as well, I enjoyed that while she was a Hollywood star, she was still a down to earth character who cared deeply for her sister and was extremely supportive of her.
I enjoyed the animal rescue plot of the story and how it added additional drama and obstacles for our two main characters to overcome and that they were able to weather the story together.
Overall this story was hands down a 5 star book to me, was it perfect? no, but I enjoyed every second of it and would highly recommend it!

This is a cute, easy read. The story is well paced and tension is well built.

The funny moments made this story feel like you were being told a real life story by a friend. Amelia and Lindsay are a sweet pair that you cannot help but root for, you feel them both slowly falling for each other but know that the situation is temporary.

For once the third act break felt heartbreaking but not at the same time, you know the whole time that it is not a situation that will last, so when the time comes, you’re both prepared and not, just like the characters. With so much else going on in the story you are swept up in the romance and the longing but the knowledge that there is an expiration date is always looming in the background.

This is a lovely, well written story that has me looking for other work by this author but now I’ve read the book I am throughly confused by the cover; is the lady not standing in front of a motorbike? (There are no motorbikes mentioned in this story) And does Zoey’s TV character not have her wearing a white t-shirt with the TV show’s logo on it for the con? Who is this cover person?!?

Thank you to NetGalley and Bold Strokes Books for the opportunity to read this enjoyable book, I am look forward to reading Ms Bryant’s other books.

Amelia runs a rescue farm for mini-animal - cows, donkeys, Highland cows, and goats. She and the farm are struggling, but agrees to stand-in for her actress twin sister, Zoey, at a conference in Las Vegas because Zoes agrees to pay her what she would be paid and assures her nothing can go wrong since she would be in Vegas the next morning. But of course things do go wrong, very wrong.

Kris Bryant’s latest book moves along at a leisurely pace, but has all the elements her readers expect from her books - well-developed main characters and secondary characters, including the animals on the rescue farm. The storyline is pretty much like all sapphic romances - girl gets girl, girl loses girl, girl gets girl back, and they live happily ever after. However, Bryant has added a few unexpected twists, including a nasty bad guy, that keep the book interesting and doesn’t bog the book down in angst and/boredom.

If you are a fan of Kris Bryant, you will undoubtedly enjoy this book. If this is your book by this author, you will probably want to pick up a few of her earlier books to explore the talents of gifted author.

My thanks to Bold Stroke Books for an e-ARC.

This book is the epitome of a cozy romance. The cover is a little misleading as far as that goes and the premise hints at a different direction but the story between Amelia and Lindsey is 100% the best part of a heartwarming love story.

I was a little unsure of the initial twin plot and how long the mix up would take to resolve but I was relieved that the set up didn’t take too long to sort out to get to the meat of the story. The heart of the plot is the love that the characters have for the animals in the rescue and then the love that develops amongst found family.

The author did a fantastic job creating a story that has the reader not only rooting for the main characters but also get them invested in the journey Mizzou Moos goes on as well.

The pace and the spice level made sense for the characters and sufficiently moved the plot forward. This is definitely on my least to revisit in the future!

Thank you Net Galley and Bold Stroke Books for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This book had a really fun storyline. Twins swapping places, cute animals on a farm and TV stardom.
I enjoyed the first part of the book and loved seeing Amelia and Lindsay’s chemistry, especially with mistaken identity being involved! It was fun and it helped demonstrate Amelia’s characteristics, as well as the strength of her relationship with her twin sister Zoey.
However, the latter part of the book missed the mark for me in places. I enjoyed the forced proximity between the main characters, but found the pacing a touch too slow for me.
Overall, Scandalous is a cosy read, with a touching storyline and found family.

I know what I'm getting into when picking up a book by this author. A good read that might potentially leave me with a book hangover and not enough sleep.

This is a story about twins (which I love as I myself am one) but also about found family and meddling people.

Amelia gets a call from her twin Zoey asking her for a favour. Nothing is too much for her sister, but this one takes the cake. She wants to do a twin swap like they used to do as kids.

Lindsay is an assistent trying to get through her days by doing her job well so she can climb up the ladder and do what she actually wants to do in the industry. Her job has it challenges but overall she enjoys it. That is until a certain someone makes her heart skip a beat.

I just loved everything about this story. Amelia and Lindsay are such great MC's and the side characters are just as great. I was invested from the get go and could not put it down. The story runs smoothly and you are never really bored. The animals are just the cutest to read about. I for one would also like to live on a farm like Amelia's and I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one.

The cover is different than what the book is about. Scandalous is a cute, heartwarming story. It takes place in Hollywood in the beginning but the majority of it takes places in Missouri.

This book is so good with very little angst and the plot was unique. The twin thing has been done before, but Bryant did it well and it wasn't throughout the entire story. Lindsay and Amelia were good and they are good for one another and others. The found family is perfect and it was very enjoyable.

A very cozy read and is perfect for the sitting by the fire and a drink. I received an ARC from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

Disclaimer: I received a free copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This may be my new favorite by Kris Bryant.

I loved the twin swap idea, and the different settings we got to explore in Vegas and on the farm.

The slight mystery element kept me invested, and there was plenty of spice as well.

And of course, the cute cows of Mizzou Moos were a very sweet inclusion.

Overall, this one was a cute and lighthearted romance with just enough going on to keep things interesting. 4.3/5 stars!

A fun twin swap that pretty much goes as you would expect at first. It’s not all picture perfect though, as the author managed to bring in a bit of drama and genuine menace into the storyline. The community and the friends are warmly portrayed. The farmstead is very appealing. But the livestock are the stars of the book. Who knew there were so many miniature version of all these animals. Why have I never seen them? They sound, and yes I have now researched them so can confirm they also look unbelievably cute.

This was an enjoyable read that combined the drama of Hollywood/celebrity tropes with added tension of a twin swap. Even with what felt like some manufactured drama, I couldn’t help but root for both twins to get their happily ever after. This is definitely a cuter and sweeter story than I’d expected based on the cover (I so feel its missing a tiny cow) and I enjoyed it more than I expected. I’d love additional novellas or bonus content featuring the Missouri Mood crew. And I can’t even express how much I want to go cuddle some tiny cows now.
