I picked up this book (and also am trying to get my teens to read it) because I felt that they really do need some help in getting organised and staying focused. And these are more important than actually knowing the "stuff" that they teach in school, so that you can study smart and live life efficiently. Especially in a world where the future remains so uncertain with AI, I think that executive functions are even more important than ever.

I liked the overall tone of the book, it is casual and very collaborative instead of coming across like a lecture or a nagging session from your mom. There are various prompts and anecdotes and examples for teens to think about how each aspect of the executive functions is relevant in their lives, because it's one thing to read about the theory but what is important is the application. And honestly, I could use many of these tips and strategies in my adult life too!!

I also really liked the chapter for parents, which I felt helped pull the whole book together. It had some good reminders (and affirmations!) for me and hopefully it will be an eyeopener for others. There is also an extensive list of references (with websites) if you want to learn more about a certain topic. If there is anything I would like to suggest, perhaps a little summary after each chapter to recap what was read? Overall, great read. Thank you!.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I do appreciate a book like this. The author provided examples both in word form and in charts and graphs for teens to help understand certain techniques. The real life examples of celebrities, athelethes helps kids to relate to someone they look up to, or at least they have a reference point. The techniques such as time blocking is not new and it's often mentioned in other Executive Functioning books; at the same time, author provide visual of what that looks like, break down by categories and further relate to say, family, personal, social. Though some other charts feels a bit too clinical, feel like too much infographic for teens to drill in the same points.

I think teens can have enough of attention span to digest the book. The wording is friendly and provides guidance. Paragraphs are not too long were kids lose interest. I do, however feels like author's Social Skills book should be read before this one, that's just a personal opinion.

Thank you NetGalley & author for the ARC.

I found the seven power moves can work really well for teens. Will teens read this book? I hope so as I think that it will give them the opportunity to see things in a different “light” so they stop procrastination. It will help with focusing and become organized. The teen’s school life and succeeding in school is great. It gives a solid base for the teen to continue to grow and learn new life experiences.

Uses scaffolding that is designed to fade over time

This self help guide for teens succeeds because its scaffolding is thoughtful, practical, and deeply empathetic. The author offers teens not just information, but a structure that helps them build lasting habits and confidence. For parents, educators, and teens themselves, this book is a reliable guide that turns executive functioning from a source of stress into a set of skills anyone can learn.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

This useful and encouraging book teaches teens important skills like time management, memory hacks, organization, finding focus, emotional regulation, dealing with procrastination, and building a support squad. Each of these topics is addressed in a separate chapter making the skills easier to apply in everyday life. I also like the section for parents at the end on how to support teens without constantly micromanaging them. 5 stars! Thanks to the author for an eARC via NetGalley.

Overcome Procrastination

I learnt that time is a perishable resource and utilising it for valuable things makes great asset. I felt that memory techniques were peripheral , It would be great if depth were given. Mind maps are other area where I have learnt some more ways to organise learnt content.

Finished this in a day. This is a good book for anyone. A few grammar issues or typos is why I took it down a star. Still good tips to apply to stay on top of your goals.
