The Court of Unforgiving Gods: The Blood of the Gods

Rate this book
The fates created the Gods to ensure peace within their kingdoms. The Gods are the most powerful beings in all the realms, which means nothing can stop them from abusing the power that was given to them.
For decades, the Gods abused fae, humans, and other beings alike. To restore the balance, the fates created the one creature that can kill even a God.
The Dragon's hellfire can kill any being it touches, making Gods and Dragons mortal enemies.
King Granger of the dragons is a force to be reckoned with. He has not been seen since the war of the dragons began, and his father was brutally murdered in the war. He never wanted to be king, but he will protect his people from any unwanted beings.
Capri, Daughter of King Ragnar, must go to Beithir, Kingdom of the Dragons, for a mission. Her mission? Take over Beithir, either alongside their King or by force. If she fails, her father, the God king, will kill her mother.

Everything You Want From a Fantasy

This book was everything I want in a fantasy romance.

Capri is an absolute badass FMC. She's resilient, driven by revenge for reasons that actually make sense, and every decision she makes is backed by a strong moral compass. I loved that she wasn't just powerful. She fought for what she believed was right and her strength was earned.

Granger and Capri's relationship was exactly what I hope for in romantasy. He would burn the world for her, and she's just as fiercely loyal to him. Their devotion to each other never wavered, and it made every emotional moment monumental. Their love was built on trust, respect, and unwavering faith in one another.

The second half is packed with action, shocking twists, and betrayals that completely changed the course of the story. Some of the biggest betrayals came from the people who should have protected Capri the most.. her vile father.

The ending left me longing for book two. It leaves off on cliffhanger, and while it broke my heart, I have no doubt Capri will keep fighting for what's right. Her resilience is what made me love her so much, and I can't wait to see where her journey goes next.

I thought I knew how this was going to go… Capri and Caspian, right? Wrong. Abby completely flipped the story, and then Granger Rhodes happened—chef’s kiss. I did not see that coming, and I am so here for it.

Capri is everything. A total badass FMC, she is unapologetic, fierce, and owning every scene. She doesn’t shrink for anyone, she doesn’t apologize for her power, and watching her navigate a world full of gods, dragons, and danger while staying true to herself? Absolutely addictive. Every choice matters, every moment pulls you in.

And Granger… slow burn, tension, that way he fell first—chef’s kiss again. Their chemistry simmers just below the surface until it explodes in the best possible way.

The world-building is immersive, the stakes are intense, and the politics are layered but it’s the found family and emotional depth that make this story truly hit. The connections Capri forms feel real, giving every triumph, every heartbreak, and new friendships have so much depth.

And the ending… I was not ready. I want book 2 like yesterday.

So this was a unique world where the species have their own worlds for the most part and those that have the most power believe others to be beneath them. This story follows Capri, a God that was raised fae until her powers showed up in her teens. Since then her father the "God king" and her half brothers have tested her in cruel ways trying to kill her. She is sent on one final test and if she succeeds she will be part of the royal family. He sends her to a world filled with dragons, that happen to be at war. She finds a mate she didn't expect since they're different species and secrets about who she truly is by someone thought to be dead. This book ends in a cliffhanger after her family invades the lands and separates the mates in the hopes that her father can gain the power he thinks he's owed.

I struggled a bit with the novel strictly because I tend to gravitate towards strong FMCs. Capri appears to be a strong FMC to start, living fairly independently and standing up for herself and her mother, but soon you start seeing her actions and hearing her inner monologue where she chooses to defend her evil father and family despite them never treating her well and clearly using her. Her naiviety throughout the book drove me nuts until the very end. I like the world building, love the MMC and his friends but Capri's inability to see her situation is bonkers

The plot was excellent and paced very well. I was sucked in from the first page. I had to force myself to stop reading and go to sleep a few nights. Capri and Granger are both super lovable characters and are so perfect together. Also super lovable side characters like Caspian and Everett and even Callahan(I knew he’d come around). I am super excited to see what all unfolds in the next book. I don’t know how I’m going to wait because it was getting unbelievably good!!

I am absolutely obsessed with this book!!!

Capri is sent to take over a world for her father as a final test in order for her to join the family since she is the bastard child of the god king. Her bothers and father all underestimate her and don’t know the extent of her powers. She is determined to complete this test to set herself and her mother free from her father. But what Capri finds when she arrives on this new world with turn her world upside down.

King Granger wasn’t supposed to be king his father was still supposed to be king. He has just been trying to bring his people together and stop the war between his people for too long.

This book has so much packed into it!!! There is a great plot, a strong fmc, found family, enemies to lovers, and fated mates. The spice is written perfectly within the plot and it is so good. The cliffhanger this book ends of is absolutely devastating and I am not ok I want to read the next book Already!!!

I was a little worried about this book since it was off to a slow start but around 20% in, things started to get juicy. Our FMC Capri has quite a few tricks up her sleeve and I was honestly left speechless. Our MMC is King Granger and oh my, if you love a he fell first trope this book is for you. There’s banter, there’s spice, there’s plot twists that you weren’t expecting. There are definitely a lot of things that were left unanswered but because this is an incomplete series I am very curious and excited to see how we get the rest of the information in the other books. This book does end on a cliffhanger so as soon as the next book gets announced I will be rereading this! I would highly recommend this book for your next romantasy!

Amazing book and an easy 5 star. I loved all the components of the book, crazy strong fmc, enemies to lovers, war, politics, unique magic system, unexpected plot twists, easy to follow world building, super strong cliff hanger that has me wanting more, and family vs. family. This book reminds me “Percy Jackson” and I love that series and I highly recommend reading this.

I loved this story. Took me a minute to get into it (mood reader here) but once the plot started plotting I didn’t look back. I loved the fmc Capri, she is a powerhouse. The MMC Granger was also a surprisingly strong dragon shifter with shadow powers. Their relationship was clear from the beginning but watching it build was really impressive. Check this out if you like romantasy, this will 100% be for you!

This story completely pulled me under and didn’t let go.
A fierce heroine steps into a dangerous mission, determined to prove her worth while hiding just how powerful she truly is.
Watching her navigate a world full of secrets, war, and shifting alliances was gripping from start to finish.
The king’s struggle to unite his people adds another layer of tension and depth.
With tropes like found family, tension-filled romance, and destined bonds, there’s never a dull moment.
Everything blends together so seamlessly, including the heat without overpowering the story.
And that ending? I’m still recovering and already desperate for the next book.

Once again, Abby has wrote a wonderful story!!

I love Capri and she may just be my favorite FMC. She is strong, kind, and doesn’t care to do what is needed in order to protect herself or the ones she cares about.

I loved the found family aspect and getting to know all of the dragons and the love story that unfolds. I truly don’t think I can wait for the second book, because WOW, I need answers!!

📖Capri, daughter of the God King, has been sent to another realm to either become an equal with their King, King Granger, or take over by force. She has her work cut out for her since King Granger is King of the Dragons, a species who loathes the Gods. The Fates had created both species for balance, Dragons are the only species that are able to kill a God. Gods who go there do not return, but she must in order to save her mother from her evil fathers and brothers wrath.

When Capri gets there, she has to help unite both the north and south, since they are at war with each other. Her hope is that this will allow the dragons to see her as a positive to their realm. However, she is considered “God Trash” there, and many do not respect her. Together, she and King Granger will work to bring both the north and south together, but when Capri starts to realize it is not just her mother she wants to protect, everything about her mission becomes harder.

📝This book was just great. The world building was well done and the characters well developed. The found family aspect was one of my favorite parts of the book. The slow burn and tension that builds up was the chefs kiss.

The best part about this book was that it is unique. There is no comparison to other popular books like Fourth Wing or ACOTAR. This book was just … an amazing book. It was a great read and I encourage everyone to check it out!! It comes out November 25th and you do NOT want to miss it. Keep an eye out on KU and on my page for a giveaway in December!!!

The Court of Unforgiving Gods completely wrecked me—in the best way. Capri is the kind of main character I live for: unapologetic, fearless, and absolutely done with everyone’s nonsense. She’s a God in a world ruled by dragons who could kill her without blinking… and she genuinely does not care.

Watching her step into deadly political territory and attempt to broker peace between the dragons of the North and South—while casually positioning herself as their ruler or co-ruler—was wildly satisfying. She relies on sheer will, intelligence, and an unshakable sense of self. And will do anything to protect her mother.

The tension in this book is constant, the power dynamics are delicious, and Capri never once makes herself smaller to survive. If you love fantasy with ruthless gods, dangerous dragons, and a female lead who refuses to be intimidated by anyone (or anything), this book is an absolute must-read. Also the romance and banter between the FMC and MMC, is just *chefs kiss*. Abby is such an amazing writer and a very inspirational person.

My favorite read of 2026 so far!

Abby Moore somehow made me fall in love with a world where gods are the villains and dragons are the only ones capable of bringing them down. From the very first chapters, I was completely invested in Capri’s journey. She’s fierce, resilient, and refuses to let the people who underestimate her define who she is. Watching her navigate impossible choices while fighting for the people she loves made it impossible to put this book down.

Granger was everything I wanted in a romantasy hero. The slow-burn chemistry, the tension, and the way their relationship developed felt natural against the backdrop of war, politics, and dangerous secrets. The found family was another standout—I became just as attached to the side characters as I was to the main couple.

The world-building strikes a great balance between being detailed and easy to follow, and every revelation raised the stakes even higher. Just when I thought I knew where the story was headed, Abby Moore threw in another twist that had me frantically turning pages.

And that ending… I am absolutely unwell. That cliffhanger was brutal, and now I’m counting down until the next book. If you love dragons, powerful heroines, enemies-to-lovers vibes, found family, political intrigue, and a romance that keeps you hooked, this is one you don’t want to miss.
