Alien dragon riders. Fated mates. A forbidden love that could save—or destroy—a world.
Mae’s mission was to scout humanity’s next colony. What she discovered instead were myths come alive—alien dragon riders who dwell among towering trees.
When Watai, a fierce warrior bound to his dragon, attempts to teach her about his world, he declares that she is his cosmicmate, bound by the same cosmicthread—a fated cord tying them together, heart and soul.
Every moment with him blurs the line between duty and desire, until Mae is torn between betraying her people or betraying her heart.
Now she faces the ultimate embrace her connection with Watai… or resist its pull, sever their thread of fate, and flee to protect everything she has come to love.

Jade has overdone herself with this book. She truly knocked it out of the park with this new series/universe.
The beginning was a little slow, but it quickly picked up and kept me turning my pages all night long.
Epic unique world building, with fated mates and dragon riders (and it appears to be other types of creatures as well w/the mounts introduced).
Watai wondered why he couldn't find his threadmate... and Mae landed on his moon on a mission.
Their fates cross and now Mae wants to protect Watai and his people from being discovered by other humans... while falling in love with the male who caught her.
This is the first book of a slow burn trilogy, but I know Jade knows how to turn up the heat, and this feels like she returned to her roots (her long Project: Adapt series) w/her epic world building and interesting characters.
I can't wait to see what happens next after that ending... the hook definitely makes me want the next book. It's not a cliffhanger and the couple is happy, but it definitely opened some options/makes me wonder what's to come.
Thankfully, Jade stated in her newsletter that this trilogy will be complete this year.
Don't walk, run... this book is a breath of fresh air to the SFR genre.
Meh... great concept and a good start, but just didnt really deliver... the writing was too much telling and not showing, and needing some more editing with some entire sentences being repeated, and then those telling words, oh I felt drawn to him but I didnt know why and I couldn't be blah blah, kept going most of the book. Characters couldve used more developing too... like main girl is all like I need to save them before my ship sends out data locations of this beautiful moon! ...thrn does absolutely nothing to get back to her ship and stop that from happening? And the guy is like I need to train her... you see him throw her in the water to swim once and then its days and days later before any other training with him happens? Like he should be doing that everyday... idk this whole book just could've been better i guess...
This was a really enjoyable read with great world building, likable characters, and a story that makes it hard to put the book down. I can’t wait to read how Mae and Watai’s relationship develops in the next book. I’m especially excited to see Mae get her threadmount so I’m hoping that’s in the next book too!!
