On Halloween night, the storm comes for me…and so do three dangerous men who swear I’m theirs.
At nineteen I’ve taken my knocks, parents gone, extended foster care, and one bad night at my group home that lands me with a court-appointed, distant “relative.” He’s a beautiful stranger in a black suit; I’m a disaster in borrowed shoes. Neither of us wants this. Still, he brings me to a mansion that breathes. The halls listen. The portraits watch. Outside, the thunder speaks my name.
He tells me to stay in my room. I don’t.
Downstairs I meet his friends.
Mick, the big one who growls. Caspian, the quiet one who can’t stop staring. Alister, the grump who brought me here.
A storm rages outside. The house whispers. The lights die. They tell me I’m the key to whatever’s waking inside these walls…and inside me. I have to complete a ritual before midnight or the thing under my skin will tear me and this town apart. They say it’s simple.
Fight and die. Yield to it, and to all of them, and live.
But in this house, nothing is what it seems, least of all me, and when the clock strikes twelve, I’ll have to decide whether to resist the monsters at my door or admit they already own my heart.
A wicked, why-choose Halloween romance with crackling chemistry, haunted-house vibes, and a fierce heroine who doesn’t have to pick. High heat. No cheating. HEA.
Perfect if you love fated mates, found family, grumpy–sunshine, forced proximity, hurt/comfort, protective, possessive heroes, age-gap tension, witty banter, and a chosen-one heroine.
Lexi Davis loves long walks on the beach, drinking iced mochas, and writing smut. She believes in the ultimate power of love to both heal and transform. Her greatest hope is that her books bring joy to readers and allow them to escape one page at a time.
This was such a fun Halloween vibes novella! It is a fast paced, easy to read, engaging and mysterious book. The beginning started off on the slow side, but it quickly picked up. I enjoyed the short chapters and how it really had me wondering what was going to happen next. The way this author wrote the book was incredible! I would say the only thing that did bother me in the book was the girl being under 18. However, she was very close to being 18 years old. This is a book that is perfect for the fall time!
This paranormal why choose romance has all the haunted elements in it. I loved the haunted house feels and the found family in this book! The world building of this book was great, with it being under 200 pages! This book is filled with spice, steam, monsters and sacrifice! It comes with a twist that i didn’t expect and spooky vibes. Overall, I give this book a 4 out of 5 stars!
This book reminded me of the book “Hallowed by Monsters” by author Sarah Piper! Be sure to check out the content warnings before reading the book.

👻 A spooky-spicy novella that embodies the spirit of Halloween season 👻
Summary On her nineteenth birthday, after committing a crime and having to leave her foster home, Madison is taken under the wing (ahem) of her only traceable family member, a distant relative of her father. After moving into her new home, Madison soon discovers a secret about her life that threatens to imminently destroy her and everyone else in her vicinity… unless she agrees to have a gang bang.... with three supernatural entities.. 🤔🤔
My Thoughts First off, I've noticed several reviews mentioning the ambiguity of Madison's age. — I can only assume that the author later edited the character's age and that I received an edited arc copy, as the character is definitely mentioned several times as being nineteen in my version of the book. — Having said that, the way she was written still made her come across as very immature which made me feel quite uncomfortable.
I very much enjoyed Lexi Davis' descriptions of the atmosphere and environment. Her exposition of the house set the perfect spooky atmosphere and allowed me to be able to vividly picture the setting.
Character wise, I feel like I didn't find out much, if anything, about the characters, and I also felt that their relationships were a bit rushed. Now I understand that this is a novella so this can be expected to some degree (especially a novella where the primary focus is the spice), but I personally would've liked to have got to know each character and their backstory a tad more. — I think this may be the reason as to why I didn't particularly vibe with any of the characters. I personally found Mick to be a bit creepy which I think was to do with the instant sex pest sense of humour and the immediate use of pet names. However, the ending seems to set the tone for a follow up series, which could potentially provide more of each characters' backstories in the future. Honestly, the only character I did quite like was Caspian — I found his awkwardness and reserved nature cute.
Similarly, I would've preferred if the characters' sexual escapades had had a more natural and organic lead up, where Madison got to know the characters a bit better, instead of being put into a situation where, essentially, she has no other choice but to participate in the foursome (which is also the only sex scene). I personally found it a bit dub-con ish, although others may disagree.
I did find the monopoly scene pretty sweet though. It was nice to see the characters bonding together in a cosy situation.
Overall This was a book of firsts for me; my first why-choose romance, and my first paranormal/monster romance. And unfortunately, (and this is in no way a reflection on this book), I think I've discovered that paranormal/monster romances are not my cup of tea. However, if that is your thing and you're looking for a quick and easy read with spice and a fast-paced storyline, then this might be the book for you!
Thank you to NetGalley, Lexi Davis and Victory Editing NetGalley Co-op for gifting this eBook in exchange for an honest and unbiased review. All opinions are my own.
This was a fun, spicy read! I really enjoyed the vibes and the setting; perfect for spooky season. While short, I think the author did a good job of depicting the characters, giving them their own distinct personalities. I did feel like the last couple of chapters lost their way a little bit and could have used a bit more build up. However, I still enjoyed this book and would read more of the author’s work!
Thank you NetGalley and Lexi Davis for the e-arc in exchange for my honest review.

CLAIMED BY HER MONSTERS — A Spooky, Storm-Soaked Why-Choose Treat 🖤
Lexi Davis is one of those authors I trust enough to go in completely blind—and Claimed by Her Monsters was a wild ride from page one. While it didn’t hit quite as hard for me as Naughty Saint Nick, I still devoured this novella in a single sitting because Davis’s writing is just that addictive. 🌩️📖
👻 The Setup This story follows a nineteen-year-old heroine who’s survived loss, foster care, and one disastrous night that lands her with a distant, court-appointed “relative.” He’s a beautiful stranger in a black suit. She’s a mess in borrowed shoes. And the mansion he brings her to? Yeah… it breathes. It listens. It watches. 😈🏚️
🔥 The Monsters Downstairs, she meets the three men tied to her fate—and honestly, the vibes were immaculate:
• Mick — the big, growly one • Caspian — the quiet one who can’t look away • Alister — the grumpy one who brought her here
⚡ The Vibe Once the ritual plot kicks in, the story turns into a fast-paced, eerie, sexy roller coaster where the storm isn’t the only thing waking up. The atmosphere is thick, the pacing is addictive, and the paranormal heat delivers. It’s messy, fun, and perfect for spooky-season binge reading. 🔮🔥
🖤 Final Thoughts A solid 3.5 stars because the vibes, the spice, and the one-sitting readability absolutely deliver. If you’re craving a spooky, sexy novella you can inhale in one go, grab this—preferably during an actual thunderstorm for maximum effect. 👻⚡📚
🙏 Acknowledgments Thank you to NetGalley, Lexi Davis, and the publisher for providing me with this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Alister & Madison took us on a wild ride! This fast and fun read was very engaging and held my attention throughout the entire novella. I loved the spooky element and it was absolutely perfect for this season, but also loved how Lexi Davis threw in some of our favorite tropes, such as why choose romance & forbidden love. Overall a solid read that I enjoyed and would recommend! Thank you ARC provided by Victory Editing NetGalley Co-op, Lexi Davis and NetGalley for an advanced reader copy. All opinions are my own.
1 ⭐️ In just a little over 100 pages this book tried to include: - a plot - character backstory - development of character dynamics - philosophical insights into the characters - a complete game of monopoly - a chosen one - fated mates - a foursome and it didn’t do anything well! None of those things worked! I thought this was going to be a silly goofy smutty monster novella, and instead our immature 19 year old protagonist is pressured into having sex with 3 strangers she sort of finds hot after they convince her the world will end if she doesn’t spread her legs for them. It was so icky and gross. Also, none of the men were particularly monstrous, overall they were just 3 hot guys with some anemia and body hair issues.
So yeah. My expectations going in were on the floor, but this novella somehow managed to dig underneath them.
Thank you to netgalley and the publisher for the eARC!

Overall: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Readability: 📖📖📖 Feels: 🦋🦋🦋 Emotional Depth: 💔💔 (It’s pretty short and there’s a decent amount of characters) Sexual Tension: ⚡⚡⚡ Romance: 💞💞💞 Sensuality: 💋💋💋💋 Sex Scene Length: 🍑🍑🍑🍑 Steam Scale (Number of Sex Scenes): 🔥 (It’s a short story and there’s just one full scene) Humor: A bit Perspective: first person from the heroine only More character focused or plot focused? plot How did the speed of the story feel? fast When mains are first on page together: immediately for Alistair and Madison, the other 2 are soon after Cliffhanger: No, this ends with a happily ever after Epilogue: No Format: Voluntarily read an advanced reader copy through NetGalley in e-book form Why I chose this book: It sounded like something I would love! Mains: This is a MMFM romance with wolf shifter, vampire and ghost heroes and a witch heroine (Descriptions found at end of my review)
Should I read in order? This stands alone
Basic plot: Madison is brought to a house of a distant relative of her adoptive family after she is excused from her extended foster care.
Give this a try if you want: - monster romance - contemporary setting - why choose – This is a polyamorous relationship between 3 men and a woman - Halloween - Wolf shifter / vampire / ghost / witch pairing - close proximity - average novella steam – one full scene
Ages: - heroine is 19, didn’t catch ages of the others but assume they are much older
First line: There’s blood under my nails when the man says, “This is a terrible idea.”
My thoughts: I really thought this one was going to be my jam. It had so much that I was looking forward to and I’m not sure what went wrong for me. I think I could have loved all the characters, though I didn’t know them well.
I’m not sure if there was too much plot for what I was expecting for this novel? But at the same time it’s so short that the plot wasn’t really that developed? I think the one encounter was a let down for me – especially because of the way it was presented to Madison and that they spent a whole chapter convincing her to do it with the choice of sex or death.
I wasn’t in love with the reincarnation theme, I felt like I was getting the tail end of a story and Madison was just a conduit for these other lives (I didn’t have a moment where like...her prior lives felt like HER and that bothered me).
So I don’t know. I guess this just went in a direction I didn’t love. And that’s just me! It has a lot of fun elements and I still recommend.

Full break down on what my ratings above mean here: Overall: How I felt about it everything considered! Readability: How ‘readable’ was the book? Did I fly through it? Did I have to tell myself to pick it back up repeatedly? Were any passages confusing? (I will probably score like (1) is literally unreadable due to formatting/typing errors, etc (2) There were lots of errors that made it difficult to read OR It was extremely confusing and I had to reread passages to make sense of it OR I disliked it so much I had to bribe myself to keep reading (3) I didn’t really want to keep reading and would have preferred to abandon the read and start something else OR some minor continuity issues/confusion (4) I liked it fine, maybe a minor error or 2. I was happy to pick it up when I had time. (5) I never wanted to put this down. I thought about it when I wasn’t reading it. I hid in the bathroom from my kids to read. I threw inappropriate food at my children for dinner so I could read instead.) Feels: Totally subjective to each person but did the book give me any tingles? Any butterflies? Did it rip my heart out (in a good way?) Emotional depth: How well do I feel I know the characters at the end? How much did I feel their emotions throughout the story? Sexual tension: Again, subjective, but how strong was the wanting and longing to me between the characters? A book might have strong sexual tension without a single touch. Romance: Was there romance? Did romantic things happen? This can be actions/words/thoughts of the characters and again is subjective. Sensuality: This is how the intimate scenes are written. Kisses and sexual scenes – how sensual were they? Were they on the mechanical side? Was there emotional pull tied in? Were the details explicit or flowery? These are subjective but generally (1) too short to get a good judgment (2) not all what I'm looking for - very vague or flowery prose (3) either not explicit enough or not enough emotional pull (too mechanical/physically descriptive without the emotions) (4) what I love in a scene (5) absolute perfection - perfect balance of emotional longing and explicit descriptions Sex Scene Length: How long the bedroom scenes are (generally (1) is 1-3 sentences (2) is a few paragraphs to a page-ish (3) is about average, a few pages (4) more well developed scenes, quite a few pages with descriptions (5) the majority of the book takes place in the bedroom. This is always hard to tell for me on audio! Steam Scale: Generally, each flame is a scene. If scenes are super close together I sometimes combine them. If a scene is super short or so vague I don’t know what’s happening, I don’t count it. There’s some levels of grey but generally the number of flames is how many sex scenes there are (I max out at 5 so I’ll put a + after if there’s more than that)
#Review: *Claimed By Her Monsters* - Lexi Davis [21+] 4.7/5✨ 3.5/5🌶️
I really liked every book I've read by Lexi Davis so far. That made me apply for this ARC and I really wanna thank her and Hayling Bookstorm Pr for accepting me for this one.🤗
Madison was a young girl who lost her family and was living in a group home. From there she will be taken by a handsome man, who claims to be part of her family. When they arrived at his mansion, something strange was in the air and with that house. But besides that, Madison finds another two men under that roof. So, grumpy Alistair, the man that took her to his home, accompanied by two of his friends, Mick and Caspian. Their connection was something Madison could never imagined and they needed her to bring to surface something that was hiding inside herself. It was something of life and death, so she needed to accept the idea that all of these men needed to claim her as theirs. Will they all be able to accomplish what they planned?
This story was completely different than what I've initially thought, giving me those vibes of uncertainty, not knowing what exactly was supposed to happen. It was indeed filled with so much lust, tension and spice, something which was oozing from all those four people from the mansion. I haven't expected for that connection to be so much more than I what thought and I felt the care all those three man had for Madison. The creepy house brought even more mystery and some chills to my bones, not knowing what was all about until the confession Alistar made later on.
A super, super hot read, one filled with so many things, a story which had that element of surprise. It was pretty spicy, with a crackling tension between all those present in the mansion, even without knowing each other that well. Recommended to mature readers and for those who like a little more spice in their books.
This is short , sweet and spicy . I was nervous about her age but I think the author actually handled that well. This is a great Halloween read and I’m curious to see how it continues. Thanks to Netgalley, the author and the publisher for the arc.
Claimed by Her Monsters by Lexi Davis is a spicy, eerie paranormal Halloween romance novella about Madison, a nineteen-year-old with a fractured past who is claimed by three dangerous, beautifully mysterious men on the stormiest night of her life, and told she may be the key to unlocking a power that stirs both within her and the ancient mansion she has just been brought to. As thunder thunders, portraits seem to watch, and the lights flicker in that house that feels alive, Madison must decide whether to embrace the terrifying magic that binds her to Alister, Mick, and Caspian or resist and risk all she has left.
Reading this was like sinking into a gothic fairytale soaked in spice, suspense, and whimsical terror. Right from the moment the storm tossed her into those whispering halls I felt the book’s atmospheric pulse: the mansion was almost another character, its dark corners and creaks stirring both dread and curiosity in me. Madison’s strength and vulnerability felt real and raw in the midst of her loss and confusion, and the three men each had distinct personalities that made the “why choose” tension unpredictable and thrilling. The chemistry crackled, the paranormal stakes felt high, and even though I sometimes wished the story had a bit more room to breathe given its short page count, the emotional beats still landed with honest impact.
For all its haunted energy, fierce loyalty, and candid exploration of connection in a world beset by magic and threats, I would give Claimed by Her Monsters 3 out of 5 stars because it delivered exactly what it promised: a heart-pounding, spooky-season fantasy that left me wanting more of these characters and their world.
I absolutely loved it, until I felt ripped off…lol As great as the build-up was, I not only felt cheated from some yummy, naughty, glorious MMM action, their MFMM time was just *blop* done… and the ending was abrupt & kinda meh, at least there’s going to (hopefully/supposedly) will be another book!! (I would have waited until both books were available before reading this one!!…sorry)
The flashbacks were nifty, but short, and what about the Tall Hat Man? (whom you’d think Alister would know his name since he created Alister!!) 🧐
Loved🧡 🪟The House 🥣 her bumping into Mick😆 🎩💰Monopoly 💚🐺+🖤🧛🏼+🤍👻=❤️🍀 📙Book Cover…but you are missing something to symbolize Mick
This book is hard to describe and was very hard for me to get into the story. Upon seeing the cover, my mind immediately went to a dark romance with some morally grey characters. Instead, I was surprised to find this book has actual monsters – ones who reminded me of Scooby-Doo Villains instead of the dark and scary ones of the night.
The story resolves around a girl named Madison who is in extended foster care at the age of 19. Upon stabbing a man (claimed to be self defence), the system seeks out her only living (and very, very distant) relative, Alister McCrane, to take her in until the charges are decided. The plot twist that we all saw coming? He’s hot and she wants to fuck him.
This is where things start to get strange, confusing, and hard to follow. Madison returns to his house, he tells her to stay in her room, she disobeys, and then there’s a 4 player game of... monopoly?
So let’s talk about what didn’t work.
If you are looking for a serious story, this is not the pick for you. Fast-paced and with plot all over the place with no connections from point A to point B, I’m at a loss to even try and describe this story to you. We learn of the three monsters – a grumpy vampire, a cuddly werewolf, and a shy ghost.
Madison gave off a vibe that she was originally intended to be a young child. She talks of drugs, sex, and alcohol abuse but the furthest her mind thinks with the three men is kissing. She has a sparkly pink backpack, attends a community college, and is still on social supports simply because she cannot afford to pay for her own place...? I’m not an expert but I’m pretty sure the government wouldn’t keep you in foster care over 18, let alone pay for a place for you to stay without an application and transfer to a different branch of funding.
The story built up to one sex scene – which was disappointing and very vague on the details.
So what did work?
If you’re looking for a fun and quick read, you may consider this.
Lexi perfectly captured a nostalgic feeling for me with the same kind of cartoon Halloween movies we all knew and loved as children – except they fuck her. This reads heavily like the kind of stories that you would have read on Wattpad or Quotev.
I have more bad than good to say regarding this story; but, when looking back, I can’t say anything except this was a fun and nostalgic read for me. I don’t regret reading this and I can honestly say it was great for a palette cleanser. Just a fun, spooky, and immature read in time for Halloween.
This book was funny, light-hearted and fast to read.
*I did recieve an ADC (Advanced Digital Copy) of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
My Book Rating System 1 Star means it was a DNF. 2 Stars means I should have chosen to DNF. 3 Stars means it was okay. I will not read this again. 4 Stars means it was good. I will probably read this again. 5 Stars means it was amazing. I am obsessed.
My Spice Rating System Green Pepper means no spice. 1 Pepper means it has closed door or implied spice. 2 Peppers means it has open door scenes but they're more on the vanilla side. 3 Peppers means it has descriptive scenes, starting to get kinker in description. 4 Peppers means it has numerous scenes in the books and lots of description. 5 Peppers means that we aren't reading it for the plot anyways. * Please note that I will not add my Spice Rating Scale on any book reviews that are meant for young children or middle grade ages. A Green Pepper or 1 Pepper may appear on books classified as Young Adult.
Book Review: Claimed by Her Monsters by Lexi Davis 🧛♂️🧙♀️🐺👻 Short, spicy, and suspiciously snuggly
Tropes - Found family (but make it freaky) - Insta-love with zero chill - Reverse harem, light on the angst - Paranormal roommates with benefits - “I just met you but let’s soulbond” energy - Age gap (with a side-eye and a shrug)
This book is like walking into a haunted house and getting immediately emotionally adopted. We’ve got a ghost, a vampire, a witch, and a shifter so not quite monsters, but definitely not your average boy band either. It’s giving Monster Mash but make it horny.
The plot? Barely there. But the vibes? Immaculate. Our girl shows up looking for love and gets scooped up by four supernatural hotties who offer just enough explanation before she’s like, Cool, I’m in. Is it realistic? Absolutely not. Is it fun? Oh, hell yes.
Now about that age gap… I wanted to side-eye it. I did side-eye it. But Lexi Davis addresses it in a way that kind of works? Kind of. I’m not spoiling it, but let’s just say: I guess I’m okay with it. You’ll know what I mean when you get there.
Final thoughts: If you want emotional depth and monster lore, this ain’t it. But if you want to feel like the main character in a chaotic supernatural cuddle pile with zero consequences? Welcome home.
I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.
Claimed by her Monsters is a perfect Halloween read for the why-choose girlies. It's a super fast burn, spicy novella set on Halloween.
Halloween happens to be Madison's birthday. She's freshly 19, and is being kicked out of her group home after defending herself against an attacker. Her new (reluctant) guardian whisks her away to a giant mansion.
While there Madison learns shocking information about her past, including that her gorgeous guardian, and his 2 equally arresting friends are her fated mates (yes, mates, plural). If you like vampires, ghosts, werewolves, and witches, Claimed by Her Monsters is the perfect, quick Spooky Season read.
Thank you Lexi Davis and NetGalley for the opportunity to advance read!
It was good for what it was. Short? Yes. But its meant to be a short and spicy little read. I think it might be a prelude into a series the author is planning based on how it ends, which might be cool.
There were some factors that gave me the ick, not going to lie, like that everyone thought she was 17, it does turn out that's wrong and she 19 in the story, but still wigged me out a bit. Also one of the MMC is supposed to be her temporary guardian, again, turned out she is an adult but still.
But if you look past those are that just doesn't bother you, the story itself was good. Fast paced and spicy just like you would expect for this book. I give it a 4 star. I really loved the cover of the copy I got, its different from the one here on Goodreads though which is sad because the other cover is awesome.
I would also like to mention that it is an ARC read so thank you to the author for approving me and giving me the chance to read your book early.
I went in expecting a quick, spicy Halloween read and ended up completely invested in the characters and atmosphere. The story balances tension and tenderness with mystery and the paranormal so well!
I really appreciated the detailed content note at the start — it showed care and made me feel immediately at ease before diving into the story. Once it starts, though, it’s all stormy nights, gothic halls, and dangerously charming men with secrets.
If you’re after something spicy, spooky, and quick enough to read in one sitting, this one’s a great pick for autumn. 👻
Sometimes you just need a book like this, I guess.
This was a very fast-paced occult ... romance? Let's be honest, it's just smut.
Well, I THOUGHT it would just be smut, but then there was actually something of a story line baked in. Truthfully, it was too short of a story to even attempt a plot. Give me the smut and let me go about my day.
In all, this was fine. Good, even. The boys kiss - huzzah!
Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for an ARC.
I received this advance review copy for free from Netgalley and Lexi Davis. I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I'm glad this was a quick read, because the vibe is not it.
Our 17 yr old FMC Maddie gets picked up out of foster care by her "adopted uncle". Less than 24 hours later she is coerced into spicy times with several people at once when she clearly didn't want it and said so at the beginning.
The age gaps are huge, and the whole thing has a really creepy SA p3d0 vibe with her birth certificate saying she is 17 for another week, but her body magically being 18 and her powers activating. The guys are a lot older, and ancient in some cases. The power dynamic with one of them being her caretaker/uncle somehow makes this even worse. There was also underage drinking too.
EDITED to add that between the time I read the ARC copy I received and publication, the book was changed to make the FMC 19. I guess that's better, but the original ARC was still about an underage girl being SA'd.
First off, thank you to NetGalley and Lexi Davis for the ARC!
This was such a fun little read! Especially after the emotional devastation the last book I've read left me with. So, thank you Lexi Davis for saving me from a bookslump. Claimed by Her Monsters is a MMMF Halloween monster smut novella, about 100 pages long, and honestly? I wouldn’t have minded if it had been longer!
It really read like a mini smutty romantasy and I could easily see it expanded into a full length romantasy because I definitely wanted to know more about Alister, Caspian, Mick, Madison, the man with the top hat and that semi cliffhanger around Mick?!
Long story short: this is a super fun read for Halloween! Especially if you’re looking for a smutty monster book that builds tension well, manages to sneak in a decent plot (within 100 pages?!) and even gives its characters more backstory than you’d expect in such a short story.
Thank you to the author and NetGalley for allowing me to read Claimed by Her Monsters! All opinions are my own.
This was such a well-thought-out and dynamic novella. The story felt complex and genuinely engaging. It can be difficult to craft a solid plot within such a short format, but this one packs a punch right from the start. I loved all three MMCs, and I think the author did an excellent job balancing character development with story progression.
I’ve read my fair share of erotica novellas, and this one definitely stands out as one of my favorites. I would highly recommend it!
Thank you to NetGalley and Lexi Davis for the eARC. 💗
I would like to start by saying this book would have been better as a fully fledged novel. 🥲 I think, as a novella, it was trying to do too much with very little space. It felt like 300 pages worth of story was crammed in and there was a lack of focus and direction in where it was going. 🙃
There was definitely potential for this to be good but unfortunately, it was very rushed. As a result, it was very difficult for me to feel any kind of attachment to the story or the characters, which is sad because I really think I might have enjoyed this if it were a proper full-length novel. 💔
If you're looking for something that's very fast-paced, with plot and spice, and filled with Halloween vibes, this might be for you.
There wasn't a thing about this story I didn't love. The perfect paranormal why choose for the spooky Season do truly think it deserves to be fleshed out further because I wanted to know more about the characters, I considered dropping my starts because of this BUT I think maybe there is more to come from these lovers. The ending definitely teased at it. I have my fingers crossed super tight that I'll see all the characters again very soon!
Overall, I loved the setting, the characters and the smut... I personally love a good MMMF dynamic. I would have loved to see a little more MMM action but beggars can't be choosers now can we?
I am not ashamed to admit I had never heard of Lexi Davis, before requesting this book. Luckily for me she has multiple titles available on KU. Since I enjoyed this one so much I'm going to be taking a peak at some of her other titles soon!
I received a copy in exchange for my honest review.
This was a really quick and fun read. There are a lot of trigger warnings so make sure to check that out before picking this up as there may be some things (such as age gap and questionable consent) that may bother some people. For me I read this all in one sitting. It was so spooky and gave the perfect Halloween vibes for October. It is about a girl who is turning 19 being picked up from foster care by her adopted father's relative. When she shows up at her guardian's house, there are weird vibes in the house and with all the three people that are in the house.
For being so short I think the author did an amazing job of describing their personalities and giving each character’s vibe. It was very fast paced but laid out well so you were engaged in what was going on from the beginning. This also gives a nice dose of spice for being a short story. Near the end I feel like it could have been wrapped up a bit better as it felt a little rushed in the very end. I would have enjoyed seeing a bit more of what is going to happen now that she is 19 or how the four of them will move forward. However even with that rush, it was wrapped up in a nice way that it did not upset me as an ending, just wanted a little more from the story. I also loved all creatures that were brought into such a short book.Thank you so much to NetGalley and Lexi Davis for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.
Thank you Lexi/Melissa and Netgalley for letting me read this ARC. I had a blast!
This was one of the few novellas I've read but let me tell you, more are coming. I didn't always connect with characters and storylines in novellas but I guess I was reading the wrong ones 🤭
In this book Maddie spends the night with three handsome strangers who have a secret to hide. Who or what are they? 👀
The guys are such good characters with their own unique manners and language. I loved that! And for sure, I also wouldn't be able to choose! But I do have a soft spot for Caspian. The other two came on so strong, meanwhile he was just a sweetie 🥹
Of course there was spice. Because how can there not be in a 'why choose'? However, it didn't come immediately, which I appreciated. It gave me the chance to get to know the characters more before they all had their fun, if you know what I mean haha
Without too much spoilers, the age gap concerned me a bit. The maincharacter was still very young and these guys... were not. In the beginning it made me a bit uncomfortable. It got an explanation which made it kind of better, but to be completely honest, I would have preferred it if it was thought out a bit differently.
Also, the plottwists in the end came a bit out of nowhere and I wasn't sure what to think about it. I still liked it though and it definitely gave some intrigue for a next part! And I would like to read more about these guys! ✨️
It was short and sweet and PERFECT for Halloween! It has everything you want; nice characters, an intriguing storyline, some spice and of course monsters!
⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
Claimed By Her Monsters will come out on the 7th of October!

“On Halloween night, the storm comes for me…and so do three dangerous men who swear I’m theirs.”
I requested this novella on a whim because I liked the cover and the synopsis sounded interesting. Unfortunately, this one did not hold up to what I was hoping for. This novella is only 100 pages, so there is a lot that is trying to be packed into a short amount of time.
My biggest issue with this book is that the main character seems very young. In chapter two, she states that she is 17 and is two days away from turning 18. That was my first red flag. Later in the book, she states that she is 19. It is then stated multiple times throughout the rest of the book that she is turning 19. Regardless of what age she is, I could not get past how young she read which made the rest of the book feel icky.
There are a lot of supernatural elements to the book as well that I think overall were fine, but if we had a little bit longer of a story then they could have been fleshed out more because I have a lot of questions that I think could be answered in a longer book.
There is also a mention of a stabbing in the beginning of the novella, but I feel like there weren’t any answers to that. That should have been addressed a bit more than it actually was.
Overall, I am giving this book a 2.5 star rating. The idea of it was great, but ultimately just fell really flat for me. If the female main character was aged up a bit and the story was longer, this could have been really good.
A great novella that captures the struggles of how it feels to be a lonely soul, lost between the foster system and trying to find a place of love in the world.
This follows the story of Madison as she finds not only support in a very strange place, but perhaps love also. She may only be on the verge of being only nineteen years old, but because she’s turning nineteen, that is more powerful than she will ever know. And she will learn this through the friendship she gains from some very unlikely friends.

“Claimed by her Monsters” was a short, sweet, and Bootiful good time!! This novella made want more of everything. The back story’s of each monster and what is going to happen next. Loved this book!!
