A gripping, emotional, and surprisingly tender Thanksgiving romance
Stuffing My Obsession is a fast-paced, addictive novella that blends suspense, heat, and heartfelt emotion in a way that kept me turning pages. Paris is an immediately sympathetic heroine—caught between grief, fear, and the pressure to hold everything together for her family. Her need for safety feels incredibly real, and Myles steps into that role with a loyalty and intensity that makes their connection impossible to look away from.
The tension between them—emotional and otherwise—builds beautifully. Myles is rough around the edges but deeply devoted, and watching him fight his own inner battles while trying to be the protector Paris needs was one of my favorite parts of the story. Their chemistry is strong, but the heart of the book is really about trust, healing, and the unexpected ways people can fit together.
The Thanksgiving backdrop adds warmth and charm that balances the darker elements perfectly. This novella is short, satisfying, and packed with character depth, especially for fans who enjoy protective heroes, high-stakes romance, and stories about finding comfort where you least expect it.

I loved this novella! It’s been a minute since I’ve read any by this author, so now I’m gonna have to go binge read all her latest releases haha. I’m such a sucker for instalove novellas, and this one had all the tropes I love. I adore how the misunderstanding didn’t last too long, and the spice?? Phenomenal. The spice in the epilogue was chef’s kiss as well!

This book had me from the first chapter. It was a little dark, more like dusk. I loved the plot and execution of it. The climax and the HEA. I wish we knew a little bit more about what happens to the villain after his is caught. But let me tell you that the epilogue spice scene was top tier baby! HOLY smokes!.

There's an irony in being hired to protect someone from you...
Myles first noticed her in their apartment building and noticed how she spoke to residents, especially Captain. He started watching her. Good thing he did. She's doing food deliveries late at night in sketchy neighborhoods. So he took to following her, protecting her from men like him or worse...

Then roses began appearing on her doorstep, a single red rose every morning. There are texts calling her Angel. Then last night she awoke to a shadow in her room, but by the time she could investigate, he was gone...but her window was open a crack...
The police reluctantly take a report, but she knows they aren't likely to do anything about it. She needs to give them a name, but how do you name a shadow?
After her frustrating trip to the police, she stops at "Mabel’s Corner," the cafe next to her apartment building. Captain is ex-Army, and he and his wife, Mabel, are both warm, caring people, and they soon get her story out of her. And Captain knows just who can help her, another ex-military who had been in special forces and survived horrors most men wouldn't have. His name is Myles Carter. Captain is certain that he'll help, but Mabel is against the man known as the Grim Reaper in the neighborhood anywhere near Paris.
He's shocked to see her at his door. He's even more shocked to learn that she wants to hire him as her bodyguard to protect her as she visits her family in Asheville for Thanksgiving. They already think she's crazy for living alone in Baltimore. The thought of someone following her home and harming her family kills her. If Captain says she needs Myles, then she needs him!
The pay she offers for a week is less than he earns in a day. But he knows she won't accept charity; it's important for her to pay. So he agrees.
Her truck smells like her—too sweet for someone like him. It's old and stubborn, and then she remarks that the truck never liked her. It had belonged to her sister, Tonia, and ran like a dream for her. But after her death, it's always been temperamental for Paris.
Tonia had suffered from depression and had never been able to get a handle on it. Paris had felt so lost at not being able to help her. Tonia is the reason Paris is studying psychology. She wants to help people who are stuck and who feel invisible know that she sees them and their worth.
That's his aha moment, when he realizes she's not just light, she's fire! Now he gets why she works as hard as she does and does all she does; it's all to help others! And it's humbling to him.
He also gets that she's a talker, but it doesn't bother him; he actually likes it, although he'll never admit that to her. She is not only fun to be with, but she also is funny with her sense of humor that can even make him laugh, something that doesn't often happen! He's falling even more under her spell.
Then his world comes crashing down over his head. Paris knows! She orders him to leave...
She'd told him about her childhood friend, Danny Meyers, the boy her mother swore she was destined to marry. He was not happy to hear about him. But Danny was her past, and Myles is confident that he's her future. But he's been banished. His own stupidity has left Paris in danger. Although, surely Danny got the memo to leave Paris alone...

The title says so much about this story. Stuffing. Stuffing. And yes. Obsessed.🤪 This went a bit dark, a former military man justifying his stalking, his impulses, there's slight suspense, it's kind of weird, plenty of rough BDSM to take this book in a whole other direction.🙊 Like I wrote above: unexpected.

Paris feels like she's being watched, and the police are not taking her seriously. And after the loss of her sister, she doesn't want to worry her parents, but still wants to feel safe. When she's told about Myles and his protective services, she decides to hire him to keep her safe, but she doesn't realize who he really is. Secrets come to light when they head to her parents' house for Thanksgiving, and she brings Myles with her, where things get complicated.
I liked that this had a bit of a darker feel to it; he was super protective and possessive, and she walked right into his obsession. She doesn't know who he is, and they aren't together, but he's decided that she can't be anyone else's. Paris is innocent but also courageous in her own way. The connection they have is sweet (in a darker romance sort of way), and the spicy scenes were steamy!

This was a quick spicy read 🌶️ that delivered on heat and suspense, even if the story had a few bumps along the way.
The premise? Darkly intriguing:
He sees her walking home alone one night 🌙.
His protective instincts kick in... and suddenly he's stalking her 👀.
Weeks go by, and she starts to feel it—her spidey senses are tingling 🕷️.
But the police don’t believe her 🚓, so she ends up needing a bodyguard as she heads back to her parents 🏡.
I get it—it’s a novella, and there’s only so much room to build a full arc. But a few things felt abrupt:
The “I’m a Dom” moment came out of nowhere 😳. No hints, no tension—just dropped in like a plot twist that forgot to twist.
And... no lock code on his phone? 📱🔓 That felt more like a plot convenience than a believable detail.

I am all for these short smutty novellas by Cassi Hart, and this one is exceedingly good.
I was roped in from the first chapter.
Such a broody Alpha male, Myles, who has his sights set on a woman in his apartment block, Paris.
He watches from the shadows, making sure she is safe, not realising that she felt anything but safe.
A feeling of being watched, has her rattled....enough to go to the police, who laugh at her as she has no real proof of anything. Wait till something "happens"!! Yeh right!
When she reveals to friends that she is frightened.....they recommend Myles Carter for the job as protector. An ex soldier who has experience in protective duties. He is happy to fill in the position of Paris's bodyguard.
Hiding secrets never goes well, but he is so smitten with her, he allows himself to dream of her being his and keeps his stalking of her to himself!

Short but addictive so hang on you won’t put it down until the last page has been turned. Paris knows someone is watching her, following her, but she can’t prove it, it is getting worse she doesn’t feel safe scared enough to go to the police who informs her nothing they can do since there is no proof or until she is hurt when telling her friends they tell her to hire a retired military as a protector. Myles sexy as all get out retired military (uncover stalker…shhhhh) has been watching the women who lives in his apartment complex (Paris) from the shadows making sure she is safe (that is the excuse he tells himself 😊), he didn’t realize he made her feel unsafe with all the following, the watching and when she asks him about taking on the job of being a bodyguard it is then he realizes he scared her but accept the job none the less since he is the only man for the job. Now he knows he should tell her the truth especially with the magnetic pull between them neither of them can ignore it and keeping secrets isn’t a good thing especially the stalking but when the truth comes to light where will it leave them, will she forgive him, will she understand his reasoning, and will it lead them to happiness her protector for life?

In this crazy romantic short story, there is an unorthodox caring, wooing method. I don't know whether should I be smitten, laugh, feel horrified, or a mix of all. Myles does what he knows best: observe and protect. By not doing it openly and honestly with a direct approach, hurtful fallout is inescapable. During their short time together, Paris has fallen for him too, and when the truth comes out, it really is a mix of hurt, betrayal, feeling safe, seen, and emotional feelings for him, not only attraction. I like his genuinely sweet explanation. Good that by still being around, sticking to his ways, he averted danger. One's obsession can be more dangerous, more frightful than the first one's.

This was such a gripping read that flows a little darker than we’re used to by this author but I was definitely here for it ;) Paris feels like she’s being followed and the mysterious gifts she keeps finding are telling. Little does she know that Myles, the guy she asks to help keep her safe, is actually the guy following her and leaving the gifts. Lol! Of course, it’s not all sunshine and roses and Myles needs to legit save her. Nothing better than having a book with a sexy broody alpha man who becomes obsessed with a woman, and he starts following her to keep her safe. And has that soft, sweet side to him when he leaves her a rose as a sweet gesture. Paris feels like she is being followed and is starting to get scared cops won't do anything so she gets told about this guy Myles who is really good at protection. She never had any idea she would be hiring her stalker. There was something about him that draws her in, and she can't help falling for him. This is a must read!!!

If you don't mind some obsessive stalking mixed in with your romance, then this is a book you'll enjoy. While it was definitely steamy, the stalking part was a bit unnerving, especially when it happened the second time around. It left me feeling a bit icky and like she fell in love because of Stockholm syndrome rather than true feelings. Then the whole D/s relationship was just too much for this story. There were too many tropes all being thrown in at once and then someone turned on the blender.

Myles becomes her shadow, her stalker following and watching her every move. When Paris begins to finds roses on her doorstep and she gets the sense someone is stalking her she asks ex military Myles Carter to be her bodyguard. The cover of this book does not fit the inside at all. So hopefully everyone knows to not judge the book... ya know the saying. I think it's the bubble like font makes it look light and goofy but that is not what it is. In the best ways!!! So read it!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Paris has a delivery job in the city and has been feeling like someone has been following her for weeks. However, she can't get the police to help her. She is referred to Myles because he works in security. Paris doesn't know it, but he is her stalker — but in the best way. Now she's about to find out, and she’s falling for him. A fantastic book with a perfect HEA.
