Rick L. Phillips was born in Covington, Kentucky. He recieved a BA in Radio, Television and Film production from Northern Kentucky University. He is an announcer and voice actor and his agent is the Heyman Talent Agency in Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana. His first professional story was a short story titled "War Between Two Worlds" published in the book "It's That Time Again Volume 3". It was edited by the late, great writer and editor Jim Harmon. His next book that was published was a children's book. It was his creation called "Dinky the Elf". It was with that book he was compared to Dr. Seuss. Rick was raised in a Christian family. Both parents were Sunday School Teachers and his Father was a Deacon in his church. Rick accepted Christ into his heart when he was 9 years old. He was a Sunday School Teacher in his home church of Elsmere Baptist for 3 years and was active in the church choir and has sang solos and as part of a group at other churches. He later moved his membership to Erlanger Baptist Church. There he continues as a member of that church's choir and is a Deacon in the church. He lives in Erlanger with his wife Violet.
This is a fantasy/super hero story set in Atlantis and on dry land in the present tense. This book had a few twists in it, some action, some humor, and I believe it would make a good super hero movie. I've not read a book by this author before but I will be sure to again. Being a fan of comic books I liked this story. I even imagined the scenes in comic book form. This was a good quick read.
Another great comic/novel style read from Rick. Although there is some spelling errors sprinkled throughout the story, the story is still a great read. Especially for those who love the superhero's and comics.
I would highly recommend this to any who love superhero's.
If you like superhero comics, you'll love this installment series from Rick L. Phillips. There's plenty of hard-hitting crime, mixed in with good humor, ranging from silly to wry to full-on satire, and sprinkled with ancient myths retold in new ways for a new generation. I really enjoyed reading through it!
I am the author of the book so I am biased on any thing I may say but I believe that this second book in the Project: Hero series is better then the first book. If you liked Project: Hero, you will love Project: Hero Atlantis Under Attack.
