This is a short novella of 91 pages.
Ms Duffy is an excellent writer,. and known to bring the heat.
The story isn’t very exciting at the beginning, and the characters aren’t unusually interesting.
Ho Hum,...
EXCEPT,...
They make a bet with each other, which leads to one of the hottest thirty pages I’ve ever come across.
Her clarity of description,.. The Heat.... The Vivid technicality of the actions,..
And last, but absolutely not least,... the emotions of the husband as she forces an emotional Stag into accepting himself as a semi cuckold.
If there were awards given for eroticism.... I would submit Ms Duffy loud and clear!!!!!

It’s a beautiful story. A story about a couple who wondered where they were, why had they let themselves get to that point.
But what could they do? What did they want to do to get away from where they were?
They loved each other and challenged themselves to get back to where they used to be.
Challenged themselves with a prize that they couldn’t have done before.
And then they did it, all of it. She did it in front of him, just like he wanted. But it changed her. Changed her in what she knew she now needed.
The prize, no full sex, only a mouth. He asked her and she agreed and came up with the rules. The rules for this time.
And she did it. Tired, tough, persevered till the end. She finished with a flurry.
A flurry that she wouldn’t give to him. The guest was more important than him, right then, forever?

She knew that she needed it now and forever. She didn’t ask her husband. She didn’t discuss it with her husband.

And god I hope it happens.
