The Cartel Brotherhood #4

Cartel Rose: Jorge

Rate this book
Liesel— He prowls into my boardroom like he owns it—broad shoulders, smug smirk, and the kind of danger that doesn’t just whisper, it promises to burn. Jorge Diaz isn’t here to do business. He’s here to dismantle everything I’ve built. Arrogant. Gorgeous. Lethal. He looks at me like he knows every secret I’ve ever buried, and worse—like he wants to strip me down until there’s nowhere left to hide. I should hate him. I should fight him. But when his hand brushes mine, I forget how to breathe.

Jorge—She thinks I’m here to invest. She’s wrong. I’m here for control. Anneliese Schlossberg is ice wrapped in silk—sharp tongue, flawless skin, and eyes that dare me to push her over the edge. I should walk away. My family’s empire is built on blood and shadows, not women like her. But every time she looks at me with that mix of fury and desire, I want to taste what’s forbidden. She’s supposed to be a means to an end. Instead, she’s becoming the one obsession I can’t let go.

Cartel Rose is an interconnecting, standalone Dark Mafia Romance with a HEA and no cliffhanger. It contains EXTRA-STEAMY scenes that will make your toes curl and your granny blush. The Cartel Brotherhood is a six-book series that’ll keep you warm at night.

Discover the four NYC rival families that make up The Syndicate Wars world. Each family has their turn to be heroes in their own series. When it’s not their family’s turn for love, discover whether they’re the villain. You’ll meet all 24 men of the Four Families throughout the interconnected series, each taking their turn to fall in love. By the end, you’ll have a love/hate relationship with them all.

I found this book to be well written but parts of it dragged for me and took me out of the story. I liked the connection between the main characters and the other secondary characters. Jorge was definitely protective and I got the insta love feel from him. I didn't get to know Anne as well. I felt like she was underdeveloped and more secondary instead of primary. I guess I would have liked to get a stronger feel of her when the story switched to her point of view.
I felt like the lead up to the end was a little rushed and disappointing. Not as villiany as I thought it would be. The sexy times were okay but some just didn't add anything to the main idea. Some seemed more filler than connection.
Overall a good story, just not a great story. I got some feels but nothing that would make it a five star read for me.

Jorge Diaz travels to Frankfurt on business where he meets Anneliese Schlossberg. Their attraction is immediate but there is business to complete. The fourth book in the Cartel Brotherhood & another very well written engrossing, captivating & enthralling dark romance. I’ll admit I wasn’t the Diazes number one fan & that’s putting it mildly but the author weaves her magic & pretty soon I like Jorge & lo & behold before half way through I love him. I also love Liesel she’s no shrinking violet but a hard headed business woman. I loved their journey to a HEA there were edge of the seat moments, surprises that’ll knock your socks off, plus it’s steamy & also tender. Family is everything & Jorge is so protective. Then there’s the icing on the cake, the epilogue – no one does epilogues like the author & if you’re invested in her characters you’ll understand why I say that.

Jorge didn't expect to go halfway around the world to find his love. Liesel didn't expect her life to be shook up. I didn't expect to need a flow chart for the ever-expanding world.

This story starts out centered revolving around Liesel and rapidly expands to include the Four Families and their familial ties & then to more families. Jorge is the possessive, protective man as with the other men in his family but still attempts to pull the "I'm the baby of the family" card. That still doesn't work. Liesel is hiding secrets and trying to figure out who's the leak all while trying to land a client. This was a bit harder to get into because it starts in a different area and we're introduced to new characters which play a more prominent role.

I keep running the side comment Jorge made about familial ties. That would be a big change for the Four Families. They already have to watch ties.

Cartel Rose Is the 4th story arc of “The Cartel Brotherhood” the latest series by Sabine Barclay. This series is set in het Dark Mafia world. This story follows Jorge as he finds his other half. These Diaz men have been taking us on quite the journey. I have been eagerly anticipating Jorge’s book. As always Sabine does a good job of creating really meticulous, zestful, and dynamic characters. The female characters are always so impactful. She really knows how to write amazing, engaging, strong and impactful women which I always appreciate. Sabine is a master at weaving her characters across the different series in this dark mafia world. The book has a good amount of steam. I loved these two characters together. They really had such a good dynamic. This was another wonderful story in this series/world and as always I am eagerly anticipating what will happen next in the series.

Sabine has done it again. This book was so good from the very first page. I absolutely love all the dynamics between all the family members, and you get to read your other favourite characters that were in previous books. I love the flair and the mystery to characters that sabine brings to her writing you never know what is around the corner and you just sit there totally blown away by the revelations she puts into her writing. I love every single moment of this book it was so amazing. The chemistry is off the wall, action is non-stop, and the way the family interacts have you laughing along with them. I loved every single moment of this book and I cannot wait to see what this author has in store for us in the future!!!! This is a must read do not regret not getting into this series!!

Within the first two pages my attention was caught and it was held until the very end. Due to the descriptive writing, it is easy to envision what is currently happening and what is coming. Unfortunately just when I think I have figured out what is happening another surprise comes along and I am back to guessing. Jorge and Liesel are two well developed main characters and I loved both of them. It’s always great to see previous characters appear throughout this story which shows how close the Diaz family is. I absolutely love Epilogues that gives a glimpse into the main characters future and this one is absolutely precious. I actually hated seeing this story end and it was definitely worth reading.

I loved this story and the characters of The Cartel Brotherhood.

These men are ruthless and dangerous, and the women are just as ruthless when need be. They are strong and can hold their own when they need to. They also know when to let their men take the lead and protect them when they need to. The women in Sabine Barclay's books are not wilting violets, they are strong, independent and dangerous if they need to be.

I love the multiple families and the way they all interact. They are enemies, but they have boundaries that hold close when it comes to dealing with each other. The men are fair game, but the women and children are off limits, no matter which family you are reading about. I love the characters and the stories in each series. I am looking forward to more in 2026 to read from Sabine.

Sabine Barclay does it again. "Cartel Rose" is another fabulous book in The Cartel Brotherhood series. It would be so easy for these to be cookie cutter stories but book after book this author delivers action packed stories with fabulous characters. I absolutely love this authors female characters, they strong and bada--. If you have read the other books in the interconnected universe than you are no stranger to Tres J's and they are not the most beloved characters but as we learn the things that shaped these men you cannot help but love them. Sabine Barclay is one of my favorite and go to authors, I cannot wait for the next book.

Cartel Rose immediately stood out to me for its strong premise and the emotional undercurrent woven through the opening of Jorge’s storyline. Barclay’s writing has a smooth, immersive quality that makes it easy to settle into the world, and the tension between danger, loyalty, and desire is crafted with care.

What I appreciated most is how the story balances grit with vulnerability. There is an intriguing blend of cartel intensity, family bonds, and romantic pull that hints at deep character development as the story unfolds. From the tone and setup alone, it's clear this book offers a rich emotional landscape for readers who enjoy romance shaped by power, devotion, and hard-earned trust.

I've not been a fan of the other books in this series, but this book is better than the rest. It has a good plot, quite a few plot twists and two strong main characters.

Jorge and Liesel meet over a business deal. There's an instant attraction there, but she's stubborn and has a boyfriend. Jorge "sweetly stalks" her for awhile and becomes obsessed with her. She's put in danger due to said business deal, he protects her and her family ... and the relationship blossoms from there.

I liked this book more than the others, because although the smut is there, Jorge is such a good character - he has very bad anxiety, but often doesn't let it show, and Liesel is actually strong and intelligent. The chemistry between the 2 characters was believable.

I should know better than to start one of Sabine’s books at night before bedtime. Stayed up until 2:30am and was only half finished. Totally exhausted the next day. I should know better.

Book followed the similar format of the rest of her series on how her main characters fall in love. This one had an intriguing story line that kept me hooked right away. This one was less graphic than I expected and had a nice happily ever after. Really enjoyed the epilogue where we got to see into the future. If you like her books, you will definitely enjoy this one.

I absolutely love anything Sabine Barclay writes! The characters are always so well developed you feel a connection to each and everyone. Jorge and Anna grabbed your heart.
It’s so fascinating to see the inner workings of each group. They all have their own ideas of the other family, but as each character is brought to life, you grow to love each one.
This story is the slower burn of all I’ve read and the least violent, yet it brings everything to the table you want and expect from the series.
The TresJs are not what you except and everything you will love.

“Cartel Rose” by Sabine Barclay continues the captivating journey of her Cartel Brotherhood series. The characters are exceptionally well-crafted and engaging. Jorge, a quiet yet formidable adversary, captivates the reader with his intense presence. Liesel, his perfect complement, embodies unwavering tenacity. Their love story unfolds gradually, building to a passionate climax. As they face an enigmatic adversary, the narrative transitions into an action-packed adventure. The narrative is also characterized by its steamy and sensual elements, drawing the reader into the story’s intense atmosphere. The descriptions of the settings are vivid and immersive, allowing the reader to fully immerse themselves in the narrative. The plot is exceptional, as the author maintains a seamless flow of information regarding the characters and their relationships. Her ability to weave interconnected worlds and characters is truly remarkable. The story concludes with a heartwarming and satisfying resolution.

I really enjoyed this book, I loved the story and I always love reading about the Diaz family, ever since reading Cartel King. Daddy Enrique and Elodie will always be my favourite.

I really liked the FMC, she was smart and sexy. And I adored how obsessed Jorge was with her. I think the author managed the anxiety aspect well, you just want to hug the Tres J's.

I felt the ending was slightly rushed, and some of the middle was a bit drawn out. So in some places it felt a bit long.
But overall, I really enjoyed this book.

Thank you Sabine Barclay for letting me read this early ARC!

Liesel & Jorge - Insta-everything!
I truly loved this book! These two are so intriguing and the plain simple fun deriving from their dynamics are not just intercontinental but also intercultural. They cannot be more different from each other than fire and ice but they work so well together. After everything that happened in this book, I’m surprised that the syndicate works didn’t implode, and yet, there is two more book before this world comes full circle. I can’t wait to see what’s coming!

This author is a master at creating characters you will have a love hate relationship with. Each new story makes me love the MMC and rethink my stance on previous ones. The romance is sexy and steamy. There's action, suspense, humor, and so many emotions. You will be sucked in from the first page and hate for it to end at the last.

Company Connections

Liesel and Jorge could not help their attraction to each other but as they grow closer so does the tension. This story was just as dangerous and suspense as the prior books in The Cartel Brotherhood series. It was entertaining and I found the connection to the authors other series intriguing. It was a great read!.

This book continues on in this Cartel world and I utterly loved it!! It’s another international travelling one but I won’t spoil that for you and it’s the younger of the brothers’ turn to try his hand at romance. And we all know how hard these guys fall!
This book will have you enthralled almost from the first page and keep you there until the end! The twists get twisty-er and so much goes on.

We already know Jorge: we’ve met him several times during the syndicates’ stories. His is more subdued and Liesel is totally different from the other wives. I’ve enjoyed to get to know Jorge and his secrets: he’s not what I expected! A nice lighter story.

When he travels to Germany on family business, Jorge finally meets his soulmate in Anne. Both characters are enmeshed in the world of finance. But everyone has secrets and it's up to Jorge and the Cartel Brotherhood to protect Anne and uncover those secrets. Their story was a little slow moving, but no less intriguing than previous books by this talented author.
