The second volume of spine-chilling horror stories based on anecdotes collected from all over Japan across twenty-plus years, adapted into manga by Kensei Hokamoto, whose art captures the truth and madness of the human soul. The world of grim ghost stories beckons you.
The newest book in the series and we have our girl holding someone hostage again telling spooky tales with us finding out who that guy is which had me gasping and wanting even more backstory + Editor Y is back again finding new spooky tales. Those overarching plots were fantastic, but the stories themselves were so fantastic. We have a guard at night following rules, we have a bartender with a scary story (and that one was two for the price of one which I love), we have hide and seek but now super dark and scary (are you ready? are you ready?), and more. I just flew through this book and I cannot wait for the next volume!
This manga was pretty solid however I definitely like the stories in the first one a little bit more. But overall, I will be continuing to read this manga series.
I think I liked the stories better in the first volume. However, I liked the presence of the editor and girl in this volume. Don’t know if I’ll remember to be on the look out for volume 3, but these two volumes were fun and felt complete.
