If you loved Whispers from the Past, you NEED to read this! Seeing Captain Joe Bower again felt like reuniting with an old friend. Bratcher expands his world beautifully, introducing Elizabeth's storyline while keeping the Berryville setting we love. The way these stories interweave is masterful. This works as a standalone, but reading both books makes the experience even richer. Can't wait for the next one!

What sets this apart from typical thrillers is Elizabeth's backstory—she's "haunted by a past she can't outrun." Bratcher handles trauma recovery with sensitivity and realism. Elizabeth's healing isn't linear or easy, but it's authentic. Seeing her confront her past while fighting for her future is incredibly moving. This is suspense with emotional depth. Thank you for this representation.
