The Price Of Freedom

Rate this book
This book is born from the harrowing truth of those who risk everything to escape persecution—families forced to flee in the dead of night, leaving behind their homes, their history, and often, their loved ones. Their stories, whispered through generations, are woven into a powerful narrative that blends fact with fiction, not to distort the truth but to illuminate it. This is not just one family’s story—it is the story of countless souls who have endured unimaginable hardship yet somehow found the strength to keep moving forward. It is about the agony of displacement, the battle for identity, and the relentless hope that carries the human spirit through even the darkest of times.

A beautiful real and raw story about family and self identity. Following Sana, a 6 year old girl who is forced to flee with her family from their home in Iran. This is her story of her growing up as her and her family find a new life in a new country. Exploring themes of love, self identity, and deep rooted trauma. This story is Sana’s story of finding who she is while exploring her mixed cultures and identities. I felt so connected to Sana and her experiences as she grows up and becomes her own. I was emotional invested in her journey and that’s the result of a brilliant storyteller (: I learned so much from Sanas story and felt so connected with her, I couldn’t recommend this book more! 🩷 will never stop recommending ((:

As a man, I didn’t expect The Price of Freedom to hit me the way it did. I picked it up thinking it was just another memoir about hardship, but this book shook something deep inside me. Reading about the family’s escape, the fear, the courage, the impossible choices it made me realize how much we take our safety and freedom for granted. But what moved me most was how the author wrote about pain without bitterness. The raw honesty about trauma, faith, and forgiveness made me pause more than once. This book is about what it means to be human. About carrying scars without drowning. I finished it feeling humbled and inspired, with a new respect for the strength that lives inside people who have been through the unthinkable.

It’s not an easy read, but it’s one that stays with you.

The Price of Freedom by Neda Leon is a deeply moving story that lingers long after the last page.
The Price of Freedom isn’t just a book. It’s a testament to the human spirit. It makes you feel every fear, every sacrifice, and every hard-won moment of peace.
It hurts and it heals.
Neda Leon shows us that freedom is not a moment, but a series of sacrifices—some so deep they stay with you forever.
When you don’t want the book to end, you know it’s a good one.
Thank you Neda Leon.
Can’t wait to read more from you.

This book hits hard. It’s raw, honest, and full of heart. The way it tells the stories of families fleeing persecution feels so real—you can almost feel their fear, loss, and hope on every page. It’s not just about one family, but about all who’ve had to start over with nothing but courage. Heartbreaking at times, but also deeply inspiring. A powerful reminder of how strong one can be when you are sure of what you want.

Just received them book 2 days ago, I’m only about 15 pages in. All i can say is wow. Although being mainly fictional, This story is a captivating representation of REAL things that happens. I can already tell it will be a nail biter and keep me on the edge of my seat. It gut wrenching but filled with beauty in the struggle. The true meaning of hope and resilience.
