Holy Shit!

I read this book as an ARC and ai was instantly pulled in from the first few pages!

This book was thrilling and mysterious. Taylor who found herself having a close call with death, now has these gifts that allow her to see paranormal things.

Detective Reed is doing all he can to track down the possible serial killer and keep Taylor safe.

There tension and energy throughout the book is intense and you can't help but route for them, as a team to catch this killer.

What I wouldn't give for this book to be turned into a movie, seriously it was amazing!

Love You to Pieces by Jerri Drennen is a gripping blend of crime, suspense, and just the right touch of the paranormal. The plot is strong and well-paced, pulling you in from the very first chapter. I really enjoyed how the author balanced the gritty investigation with the eerie ability to see the dead—it gives the story a unique edge without feeling overdone.

The characters, especially Taylor and Reed, are relatable and easy to root for. Their dynamic adds depth to the story, though I do feel the author could have explored their relationship a bit more. The ending, while satisfying in its own way, felt a bit anticlimactic compared to the buildup. A stronger, more impactful conclusion would have taken this to the next level.

Overall, Love You to Pieces is a solid and engaging read with a great storyline, strong character foundations, and an enjoyable crime-meets-paranormal vibe. I definitely recommend it to anyone who enjoys suspense with a supernatural twist.

LOVE YOU TO PIECES BY JERRI DRENNEN

Action was front and center at the beginning of Love You to Pieces by Jerri Drennen. I was immediately hooked. I couldn’t wait to dive into this story.

Taylor McClain is attacked by an unknown assailant and wakes up with special spiritual powers that enable her to see future or present murders, and dead people. Detective, Reed Brent, is assigned to the case and to protect Taylor from the assailant.

During the course of the story, as Reed tries to protect Taylor and resolve the ongoing murders, they become attracted to each other. Their budding romance is a slow burn, and it is played out well throughout the story.

What seemed out of place was the character, Camila. She was Taylor’s best friend. I don’t think her character was necessary. I think her character was used as a plot device to get Taylor’s character from one scene to another.

I anxiously read the story anticipating who the murderer was. I was disappointed after the killer was revealed. I think if the killer had a bigger role in the story, his capturing would have been more fulfilling.

Basically, the author does a good job in this fast-paced, tasteful quick read. I recommend this book to suspense story lovers who also enjoy romance.

I want to give this story three and a half stars, but the rating system doesn’t allow it. For me, the choices were either three or four stars. Three is average in my opinion, and I think this story was better than average.

Excellent read, gripped me from the outset. It was a good blend of paranormal elements, gripping suspense, and romance. I loved the author’s unique take on the genre — the supernatural twists were engaging, adding a whole new level of tension to the story.

The characters were easy to connect with, and their chemistry felt natural even as danger closed in around them. The paranormal touches made the story even more addictive. I hope this was the beginning of a series.

Overall, Love You to Pieces was a fast-paced, atmospheric read that delivered both thrills and heart. A great pick for anyone who enjoys paranormal romantic suspense done right.

4 stars! What a fun and slightly spooky ride! I was immediately gripped by the storytelling and felt like I was walking with Taylor (our FMC) in the opening chapter. I was invested right away and felt like I was experiencing every twist and turn right alongside her. She is smart, strong, brave, and very likable as a character. Reed (our MMC) has the strong protector role down pat...you really get a sense of how hard this case weighs on him and his unwavering moral compass.

The suspense builds steadily with just the right amount of steam in Taylor and Reed's growing attraction, and the thriller elements kept me guessing until the end. The paranormal aspect is portrayed in such a subtle, believable way that it's easy to imagine it happening to you exactly the same. I appreciated that we're not hit over the head with it...instead, we ease into it just as Taylor does. This creates an intense curiosity about whether this will become a duology or a full series, letting us continue on new (and maybe even more intriguing) journeys with Taylor, Reed, and perhaps their friends.
All I know is, I'll be reading the next one!

The summary of this book captured my attention from the start. Woman attacked and had a near death experience followed by hauntings yes please sign me up. Once I started this book I simply could not put it down. I found the FMC and MMC to be adequately developed. I enjoyed the sexual tension as it was realistic given their circumstances. While I enjoyed this book, it would have been a 5 star read if a little more development was spent on Dean Ambrose, who I assume will be a main character in perhaps a next book, and Taylor's relationship. If you are looking for a good mystery with some paranormal undertones I'd say give this a read, it may just get you out of a reading slump.

Wren is a mess in the most unsettling way. She’s grieving, hearing the dead, and slowly convincing herself that the things she’s doing are justified because they come from love. You don’t always like her, but you understand her, and that somehow makes it worse. Being in her head feels uncomfortable, but you can’t look away.

What I liked is that it’s not really a ghost story—it’s more about how grief can mess with someone’s sense of right and wrong. Watching Wren unravel happens quietly, not all at once, and that slow slide is what keeps you hooked. Definitely dark, definitely creepy, and it sticks with you.

After reading this, unfortunately, it just wasn’t my cup of tea. The plot was there but I feel the execution of the plot with the backstories of the characters, the suspects and the main characters themselves could have been better. I wanted to see the author leave more of a trail of clues as to lead the readers to the murderer. There were a couple parts in the story where we as readers were left wondering and frustrated because of the story telling and/characters (especially the FMC). Did I enjoy a mix between paranormal, romance, and crime? Of course, but all three parts didn’t really seem to mix well with each other in this one. The ending left me feeling a bit unsatisfied. Would I try another book from this author, though? Yes I would as this one had a lot of potential.

“Love you to Pieces" is the first book I read by Jerri Drennen. I appreciate the opportunity to serve as an ARC reviewer for this book, thank you for this opportunity.

Taylor our FMC finds herself in a very traumatic situation that causes her to have paranormal experiences.

Detective Reed our MMC is places on Taylors case and will stop at nothing to protect Taylor and solve her case.

The two have have this electric tension towards each other. The twists, turns, and revelations in this story have you sitting on the edge of your seat trying to figure out who did it.

I really enjoyed reading this book a lot and I would recommend adding it to your TBR if you like suspense, paranormal with a little romance.
