Devyn been waiting on Maurice to get his ish together for years. She been ready for marriage and family; but he keeps pushing her off, and his tired excuses are getting old. While spending time with Tariq, she learns of Maurice's actions, and revenge mode has been activated! Well, sorta. She does want to get back at Maurice, but been feeling Tariq anyway, so why not right?
Devyn was so smooth with her get back, that I had to overlook how messy things had become. Cause it was messy as hell! 🤣 That damn Maurice had the audacity of a thousand men with his words and behaviors! Sir, what is you doing, when you started the ish!! Ughh..... 😤🤬

I love Tariq and Devyn and revenge was never so sweet. Tariq knew who he wanted and he was like if a bitch nigga gone fumble i'll gladly pick up the ball and what a way to do it. They were on some warp speed ish and I loved that for them. The way Devyn went ghost should be studied and praised...cause she really did that. She was out on Monday locked in with a real nigga by Tuesday, getting it torn out the frame on Wednesday, knocked up on Thursday, engaged and glowing by Friday and sending plenty f*cked around and found out post Saturday and married by Sunday....Our couple was busy locking in💜🤣. IF YOU WANT TO UNDERSTAND THAN READ THIS BOOK!!

Tariq 1 - Her Ex 0
Mrs. Shanee, I know you may not do many storylines about cheating, but this one was spot on. Devyn deserved a man like Tariq, who would love her down to her dirty drawers. He was always the better man for her anyway. Her ex was straight trash. He was running around dipping in every female with a skirt. He was banking on Devyn, not leaving him and doing better for herself. She did just that and upgraded her entire life, personal and all. And yes, the saying is absolutely true, "Don’t let your boyfriend keep you from your husband." I have to say I love how smooth, straightforward, and intelligent Tariq were. He made sure that his steps and actions were calculated. He also used his resources to build wealth. A man who can multiply his funds is a man that you want in your life. He is the definition of financial stability. He built trust with and fell hard for Devyn. He was lowkey dating her right under her ex nose. He ensured that she would be in his future and they would live happily ever after.

Sometimes you have to stop wasting time on potential, and Devyn found that out firsthand. Her horrible boyfriend was wasting her time, but she had a real one in Tariq. He showed her just how much he cared for her, and if he happened to be her boyfriend's best friend, oh well. They were really cute together, and I loved that Devyn got her lick back.

Despite the taboo of being with your [ex-]man’s [ex-]best friend, I was all for Devyn getting with Tariq. Kay Shanee made it a little more palatable by making Maurice a POS. She also had Devyn and Tariq get together at the tail end of Devyn’s relationship with Maurice as well as letting us know that Tariq and Maurice were barely friends at that point.
However, I wanted it messier. Like fuck it; if we gon go there, let’s really go there lol. Make Maurice a good or decent guy, leave Tariq and Maurice as the best of friends, and make it so Tariq and Devyn just couldn’t help falling in love over the years. Now that’s hella messy lol. Despite my wants though, I still enjoyed “Loving A Libra”.
“Loving A Libra” was way more erotic than I assumed it would be. (I’m not complaining. Just making an observation.) I assumed it was going to be a slow build given the fact that Devyn was previously with Tariq’s “best friend”. This book hits the ground running. Chapter two is where things start happening.
In Tariq’s first chapter (chapter two), we learn about his feelings for Devyn. That man was down BAD. Tariq’s cup was running over with his feelings, and he just couldn’t hold back anymore. The same can’t necessarily be said for Devyn. It took a little minute for her to recognize her feelings for Tariq and come to terms with them. But once Devyn accepted them and she and Tariq talked things out, Devyn was also down bad.
I liked how grown up Tariq and Devyn were. They calmly talked things out and if one person just so happened to raise their voice, the other would politely let them know that ain’t it. There’s an incident where Tariq ignores Devyn all day, and she’s pissed about it. They talk it out, but she’s still upset that he did that. I won’t give away dialogue or actions, but I’m still laughing at that scene days later lol.
I also really liked Tariq and Devyn’s support system. Ginae and Tariq’s parents had me laughing.

“SEXY AND URBAN ROM-COM THAT ENDS WITH A HAPPILY EVER AFTER”
I thoroughly enjoyed each character, everyone played their role, perfectly, even the villain.
This book immediately grabs your attention and keeps it the entire time, it is not slow paced. I read this book in two hours. I could not put it down.
If you’ve ever been cheated on or betrayed by an ex this book can definitely bring you some closure because you find yourself living vicariously through the two main protagonist Devyn and Tariq.
There were moments when I felt that everything was going a little too well, as if things were too good to be true. I almost felt like something bad was going to happen, but it did not, and I appreciate the author for writing this story that way.
The plot of this book is very taboo, but once you gather the perspective from each character you start to understand why they do some of the things that they chose to do.
This book is very sexy and I will warn you, some of the erotic scenes may give you “flashbacks” lol.

Loving a Libra
Boyfriend’s best friend is the definition of a taboo trope. I enjoyed this story from beginning to end and seeing Devyn and Tariq get their happily ever after together after all the dirt Maurice did to them was the ultimate payback and karma. Maurice had all the audacity in this world and it blew my mind. He was definitely a narcissist who thought Devyn was desperate enough and loved him enough that she would continue waiting around for him to finally choose to marry her and in thinking that once she found out his dirt, that she would stay.
I may not agree with how Tariq and Devyn got together but I loved it just the same. They truly had a relationship without intwrcourse for two years before finally crossing that line. Maurice left the door open for his woman to find somebody else to do all the things he wouldn’t do or wasn’t trying to do because he was for the streets and it just sucks for him that that door was left open for his best friend and business partner.
The messiness of this story kept me giggling and rooting for Devyn and Tariq. I wanted to feel bad for Maurice and every time I thought I would, he admitted to doing more dirt and I couldn’t be upset with how Devyn moved on. She was so smooth with it and I loved it.

karma is a mf !
I enjoyed this book and the characters . The best revenge is success and happiness and my girl Devyn got it all in the end . They always miss a good thing when it’s gone ! It’s unfortunate how she found her happily ever after but I’m happy she found it even if it was with Tariq. His love was patient , kind, understanding and EVERYTHING she needed it to be !!! Yessssss go Tariq I’m happy he got his girl after being played with by his “friend” for so long ain’t no way Maurice would’ve been playing in my face as long as he did to either one of them but everything happened how it was supposed to and when it was supposed to!! Tariq and Devyn had a complicated but beautiful love story. 💕 Though they started their relationship while Devyn was still with Tariq's best friend, the relationship was on its last leg. 💔 Maurice was a cheater the entire time Devyn was with him. 🚩 She wanted a husband and family, but he wanted her to wait until he was ready, even though they had been together for 5 years. 🕰️ Tariq lived across the hall from them and became her listening ear and companion when Maurice was out cheating but telling her he was working. 🤫 She ended up devising a plan to leave him, and it drove him to a point of thinking he was the victim. SMH! 🤦🏾♀️🙄 Tariq and Devyn rose above the toxicity and got what they both wanted and deserved: love and family.
I am a total fan of Kay Shanee, and once again, she has not disappointed me. 📖👏

Tariq was Devyn's friend and confidante during her relationship with his friend, Maurice. She was unaware that she was building a relationship with him while doing so. When Devyn finds out the real person Maurice is, naturally she turns to Tariq in her hour of need, and he was there to pick up the pieces. The way that Tariq showed Devyn how a man is supposed to love his woman gave me all of the feels. Maurice, who was the King of Audacity, ended up losing a good woman. The way he crashed out had me so tickled, and I was here for all of the petty. 😂😂 I didn't feel sorry for him because he got what he deserved. Despite the messiness of it all, I enjoyed this book sooo much. Ms. Shanee did a wonderful job of making us pull for Tariq and Devyn despite how they came together. I highly recommend this story!!

Ooo Kay was messy with this one and I loved it! I don’t always love taboo’s/tropes because they can be cliche, but Kay really did a good job with this one. I think what I appreciated most was that it wasn’t this drawn-out slow burn, where you don’t actually get to see much of the relationship aspect once they finally get together. They hit the ground running and you got to see enough background history to understand the evolution of their relationship and not feel like they were moving too fast, but really got to focus on their present love story. And whew, if audacity was a person, it would be Maurice. He tried it! And got all thee karma he deserved in the end☺️

Never disappointed!!
I loved this fast pace love story!! I loved how Tariq didn’t just talked he showed Devlyn that he loved her and her heart mattered to him despite the bother and the words from the father. Devlyn definitely made me want to go upside her head a couple of times because outside of what the brother said nothing about their relationship was taboo. It was like how long do you let ur brother bully you into being miserable while he lives his life. But I am glad she finally got herself together and her and Tariq got there happily ever after!! Five stars Ms. Shane🥰

Dnt let your boyfriend stand in the way of finding your husband
While this story may trigger or not impress some it was 🎯 for me. I loved this story and how it didn't drag out with Deyvn figuring out she was already in a relationship with Riq. It would be so bomb to see them again and G getting her HEA from a successful doctor.Also I will take a few more chubby babies from Riq and Deyvn plz and thank you😁😁

I love this for Devyn too!!!! Yea she ended up with the neighbor who was her man’s best friend. He was the right one! After 5 long years she finally got her happy ending with Tariq! When he stepped he stepped hard!!! Maurice got all coming to him & more! The fact that Tariq family & Ginae was there for Devyn as well made my heart smile!!! I loved this! It was messy, but not too much to annoy you!

Normally I don’t like the cheating trope but there are always exceptions. Maurice deserved everything he got and I do not feel bad at all. Whenever Devyn needed a shoulder or advise Tariq was her person. Maurice thought the grass was greener, turns out it was turf!!!! I loved that Tariq made sure Devyn got all the desires of her heart and was loved properly. Hopefully these two pop back up with a cute update.

Ate this book up! I don’t like the cheating trope but I really enjoyed this book. Good main characters, enjoyed the parents commentary as well. A double lick back?? Yes indeed.
The whole sign thing didn’t mean much to me. The story felt a tiny bit dragged out but overall a good story.

Loved how Devyn got her lick back!
Loving a Libra was a really good story about two friends, Devyn and Tariq who over time developed stronger feelings for one another. They were the best of friends who did a lot of couple things together, so them being a couple just made sense, more so than Devyn and Maurice tired butt! Glad Devyn got her hea with Tariq.
