Dr. Allana Polo, ND, poured her heart and soul into this book. Having completed a nutrition certification just last year, I wanted to brush up on my nutrition and hormone knowledge. After finishing reading this book, I wish that my nutrition certification had used this book as it's guide rather than the extremely dry textbook that didn't explain any of the important concepts better than The Hunger Code.

I personally do not struggle with weight, however, I am human, and I struggle with vices just like everyone else. Although my struggle isn't with food, much of the advice in this book can be directed to any vice that we battle. This book makes you look at the why you're struggling, it walks you through important questions you must ask yourself, and it fully allows the person going through it to be human, ie, to make mistakes. The process for getting over our vices and imperfections is long with a bumpy road.

I recommend this book for any person that want's a great introduction to the journey of metabolic health. The advice is everything anyone truly needs to improve their health. Eat whole meals, ensure you are getting the proper macro and micro nutrients, investigate recurring feelings of being off by consulting a medical health professional, understand the body is one unit and multiple issues are often connected, EXERCISE (it's so good for you).

The last chapter also gave me pause, and I am a people person and a natural health trouble shooter. Someone going through a weight release journey doesn't need my input or my thoughts on anything they're doing, so unless I'm asked, I should stay out of it and do my best be a positive person to be around. This isn't always my instinct, and I will think of this book the next time I go to open my big mouth in that situation!
