Rate this book
When Marlon Newberry is gunned down outside a the apartment house where he has attended a party, the case reeks of something more sinister than a street hit. Detectives Abe Gold and Barbara Cortez follow the trail, but it’s private investigator Sam Sharpe who’s hired to uncover the truth.

What Sharpe finds is a shadow world of cons and corruption—fake antiques sold for fortunes, fortune-tellers bleeding the wealthy dry, and real estate scams designed to ruin lives.

At the center is Angie Evison, a breathtaking femme fatale whose beauty hides a ruthless mind. Her crew doesn’t just cheat marks—they silence them.

Meanwhile, Judah Hammer’s criminal empire is threatened from within. Lou Fedorov, one of his most trusted men, has fallen under Angie’s spell—caught between loyalty to his boss and obsession with the woman who may have ordered Marlon’s death.

As Sharpe digs deeper, his own dark past resurfaces, putting a target on his back.

The cons are deadly, the betrayals cut deep, and in this game, losing means more than money—it means your life.

Perfect for fans of gritty noir and hard-edged crime thrillers.

Scams, Betrayals and Crossed Patterns

It's been a long time since I've read a crime novel as dark and profound as this one. Although it's packed with characters, they all feel as diverse as they are necessary to unravel a story full of twists I never saw coming.
I really enjoyed the pacing and story telling. There's much more behind Marlon's murder than just a mystery to solve. It's one of those stories that somehow draws together people from completely opposite walks of life while everything else is unfolding. Sam is the opposite of Judah, yet life's circumstances lead their paths to mixing in an unexpected way. The inclusion of Angie as a conflict point between the criminal gangs is phenomenal. The authors characterization of a woman so beautiful yet so ruthless and manipulative luring those she needs to pull the strings on into her clutches is truly spot on.
A must-read for fans of dark and gripping mystery sagas.

This book is a part of the Hammer and Sharpe series of mystery thrillers. Sam Sharpe is a private detective, while Judah Hammer is a mastermind who sits at the head of a powerful criminal syndicate. They are men on different paths, but it seems as though they keep getting pulled into each other’s orbit, either by chance or fate.

This time, when Marlon Newberry is killed viciously and under mysterious circumstances, Sharpe is called upon to crack the case. Meanwhile, Hammer is having problems with Angie Evanson, a beauty with brains and ambition to match. It seems evident that Hammer and Sharpe are involved with the same situation, but they’re approaching it from different ends. Will all be set right? And who will be left standing at the end of it all? This is a crime thriller done right, with plenty of double crosses and snappy dialogue.

Death Con Seduction pulled me in fast and didn’t let go. I loved how gritty and unpolished everything feels, in a good way. This book shows how ugly, manipulative, and dangerous crime really is.
I found Sam Sharpe especially compelling here. He’s not just solving a case; he’s wrestling with his own past, and that tension adds real weight to the story. The cons and scams felt disturbingly believable, and the noir atmosphere was thick throughout. Angie Evison is the kind of character you love to hate: charismatic, cold, and genuinely unsettling.
I liked how the story layered betrayal on top of betrayal, making it hard to trust anyone. By the end, I felt worn down in the best way, like I’d survived something intense. This is dark, sharp noir that doesn’t soften the edges, and I respected that.

This book surprised me with how personal it felt beneath the crime and violence. While Death Con Seduction is packed with scams, corruption, and danger, what stuck with me was the emotional damage running underneath it all. Loyalty, obsession, and greed collide in ways that feel very human. I was especially drawn to the way Judah Hammer’s world starts cracking from the inside—it shows how power never really protects anyone. The femme fatale angle could have felt familiar, but Angie Evison is written with enough menace and intelligence to feel fresh and genuinely threatening. I also liked that Sam Sharpe isn’t portrayed as invincible. His mistakes and history matter, and they cost him. The pacing kept me engaged, but it was the moral darkness that lingered after I finished.
This is a bleak, honest noir that doesn’t offer easy answers, and I appreciated that realism.

A great thriller
“Death Con Seduction” gives readers a story full of suspense, danger and deceptions. David E. Feldman has penned the fourth part of the series and it left me at the edge of my seat.
Marlon Newberry has been shot in the street but it seems that somebody is involved in the crime. The detectives Abe Gold and Barbara Cortez start the investigation but as it’s a complicated case, Sam Sharpe must continue with the investigation. Powerful and dangerous people are behind Marlon’s death and Sam must find the connections between everything.
It’s a captivating novel with complications, treason and corruption. I was glued to the pages from the very beginning because I wanted to see the case solved. I highly recommend it.

Intimacy is never neutral, and this story makes that impossible to ignore. Marlon’s murder is not just about who pulled the trigger, but about how attraction, loyalty, and personal history distort judgment before a crime is committed. Watching the relationship between Marlon and Tamara unfold felt less like reading fiction and more like studying a criminal file where emotion keeps interfering with logic. As someone who studies law, I could not stop thinking about intent and responsibility, and how rarely decisions are made independently from emotional pressure. The most interesting part is seeing how reasonable people justify unreasonable actions when feelings take over. It left me reflecting on how fragile objectivity is once intimacy enters the equation.

I’ve read a few books by this author already, so I was happy to start this one. I really like how he writes. The world he creates always feels vivid and intense. You can tell he knows exactly how to handle this genre. This fourth Hammer & Sharpe thriller hooked me right away. The opening crime sets a strong tone and from there the story moves through layers of corruption, dangerous schemes and hidden interests.

What I enjoyed most was the tension running through the whole book. It keeps building, chapter after chapter. I started it knowing it probably wouldn’t disappoint me, and I was right. It’s gripping and hard to put down.

I enjoy detective stories, and this one was good. I very much liked the mood that the author generated with the writing, the tension building through secrets, lies and some dangerous deals. Personally, I enjoy the characters, they feel very real and all the struggles and choices they have to make are really entertaining. I also enjoy this mind pull around all the power, loyalty and obsession going around; it really kept me wanting to know what was going to happen next, adding that extra something to the whole investigation.

To sum up, this is definitely a great choice for those who enjoy darkness, intriguing mysteries.

What seemed like an ordinary party ends abruptly with the murder of Marlon Newberry outside an apartment building where he had attended a party. Who is the killer, and why did they kill Marlon? Investigators begin their investigation, but it is Detective Sam Sharpe who tries to uncover the truth.
With twists and turns that captivate the reader, author Feldman immerses us in a world of scams and betrayals unlike anything seen before. One of the things that most caught my attention was the attention to detail and the way in which those details are described. Certainly, one of the best crime thrillers I've read recently.

This novel has everything I love: a murder, detectives, scams and corruption, and a woman with the intelligence and beauty to change everything. ‘’Death Con Seduction’’ follows the investigation into the murder of Marlon Newberry, but this murder leads investigators to navigate a labyrinth of scams and institutional corruption. One of the things I liked most was the presence of a complex character of Angie Evison, who plays a woman as brilliant as she is dangerous, dominating every scene with calculated elegance and unpredictability. In this novel, you will find a balance between tension and intrigue. I highly recommend it if you are a fan of mystery and psychological power games.

awesome Book

I truly enjoy suspense stories where the mysteries are not solved until the very end and where the reader can feel like an active part of the plot. I like imagining different scenarios and possible solutions to the events that unfold, and this book delivers exactly that.

The descriptive language used by the author allows the reader to quickly immerse themselves in the story, clearly picturing the scenes and the atmosphere in which the plot develops. This ability to transport you into the world of the book makes the experience even more exciting.

It is impressive how, because of the way the story is written, the reader feels completely involved and captured by the mystery.

If you are a fan of suspense and stories full of intrigue, this book is perfect for you. A great book and highly recommended.
