An action-packed isekai LitRPG perfect for fans of Azarinth Healer, The Primal Hunter, and Earthen Contenders!
New realm. New System. No more holding back. Valens is the youngest Life Archmagus the Empire has ever seen. His mastery over Resonance allows him to hear the frequencies of the world and correct them, healing even the deepest wounds.
Yet he could do so much more, if only it weren't forbidden—the little he can practice must be done away from prying eyes.
So when an ancient ritual promises to reveal the truth behind it all, he leaps at the chance.
It leaves him alone in an unfamiliar world, deep in a dungeon crawling with rotten skeletons and towering beasts... and a System. One that grants him the secrets of Warmagic as easily as breathing.
And Valens no longer needs to hold back.
Don't miss the start of this Archmage isekai LitRPG Adventure, featuring a detailed and unique magic system, an overpowered MC, stats, levels, numbers going brrrr!, and everything else you love about progression fantasy!
I gave up at 40%. The writing is technically good as well as the spelling and grammar. At 40%, the plot is a simple dungeon, crawl to kill a necromancer. My issue is not with the crawl or the side characters, it with the MC who is killing thing 40-60 levels higher than him. He's fighting hundreds of undead bet never gets overwhelmed. The other issue is the world. A necromancer is bad but a litch is good. Both make and control mindless undead but somehow they are different. In the end, I struggled to stay engaged because I was constantly pulled out of the story to question the world.
Fantastic series started. It grabs you and doesn't let go until the last page, and even then it only lets go because it had to!
Loved the character and world building, do many different things woven together effortlessly. An overpowered MC that doesn't feel out of place with it.
A different kind of isekai. This book has a fun twist on isekai that I don’t think I have encountered. Having a mage from a fantasy world isekai to another alien LitRPG is pretty novel stuff. The MC is interesting with a cool class. I enjoyed the story and look forward to more.
I hate stories with hard caps on skills. Fantasy world full of magic with countless skills and possible paths but you can only have 10? Why? 10 general skills? Why? So if I’m maxed out but forgot to slot swimming I now can’t swim even tho it’s something you can learn without skills.
This is why it’s stupid there shouldn’t be a cap on skills I dropped this near enough at the start after learning about the cap.
I quit two third in. The setting was flat, alot of hate about religion, which is fine but needs context. The main character has a power set that is poorly defined just so he can do anything in the moment, just cheap writing. The stats are pointless. He also acts like an idiot, absolutely no filter or common sense to his surroundings. You could see all the ideas behind the writing, but none of it was done with care or effort.
While I think the book is ultimately worth the read, I admit there were times I struggled to stay with it. The story is extremely descriptive, sometimes to its own detriment. I still don't fully understand how resonance is supposed to work, or his healing. There is a lot of politics between the different factions.
Great writing. It takes a beat for the book to take its hold, but after the first 20-30% it really takes off. This is a unique blend of isekai that reminds me of the Lord of the Mysteries in a way. I loved it. I'll be reading the next book.
