One night. That’s all it took for my life to go up in flames.
When you’re dealing with firefighters, you have to be tough. Make that double if you’re an Omega like me. I pride myself on doing both—standing up to the Alphas who give me crap, doing my job well, and embracing my Omega self.
But even badass Omegas need to have fun sometimes.
Or so I thought.
One night of explosive chemistry leads to too much fun. Now I’m in trouble.
An accidental bond, two little pink lines, and an absent Alpha are my personal recipe for disaster. So, naturally, I did what any sane Omega would do: bond with another Alpha firefighter.
We’re piecing together a life from the pieces I’ve left behind, and I think there’s a chance I can make this work.
Until Mr. Chemistry comes back into my life. He claims he never wanted to leave, and he claims he wants me. And our baby. Just one small catch. He has a pack, which means I have one too.
I thought I had everything figured out, but my life just got way more complicated. I’m enjoying the heat, as long we can make sure everything else doesn’t burn.
I quit53% in, I just couldn't anymore, with the victim mentality of this omega she is going through something harsh but it's not unexpected when you hook up with a rando in an alley, and then bite them forcing a bond, then hide the situation from everyone, and not dealing with it for weeks really, then being crappy to the alphas that are trying to help her, the only thing they did wrong is not tell her, what he did for a living, and what they suspected was going on, when they do tell her, the first thing she does is goes and blows everything. I could not stand this omega, she is a straight out bitch, I don't see any of the kind woman from the other books. I usually eat Melissa Huxley's books up. I liked the books prior, but this book sux.

"It was astounding how much mess a little bit of d!ck could get you into."
❧Overall Thoughts☙ Every book in this standalone series has been a hit so far and this one was no different.
I really enjoyed the chemistry between all of the main characters in this book. Loved the mystery and reveal behind Preston. I'm glad that didn't get dragged out any longer than it was as it gave us time to see him and Hayley bond a little.
I'm also a sucker for bonding sickness/separation etc in omegaverse books so I definitely ate this one up.
❧Fav Quotes☙ ✦ "I promise you, we do occaisonally have out sh!t together. You haven't accidentally bonded with apack of complete idiots." "We're actually highly educated idiots." ✦ "Hailey, I promise to, at a later date, f#ck you so hard in the shower, you see stars and speak in tongues." ✦ "I've got an amazing ass. Definitely one worth being stuck to." ✦ "You're a very pretty snack b!tch." "You can call me your 'Pretty Snack B!tch' anytime you want, darling." ✦ "I don't think you're bloated. I think you're just very pregnant." (lol risky thing to say 😂) ✦ "Who would have thought an alley hookup would have resulted in this?" "That sort of thing usually ends in a sexually transmitted disease, not a happy family with an adorable baby."
Playing With Fire was another amazing book in this firehouse seties. I absolutely loved this. It was sweet and angsty and had me sooo angry but also understanding about one of the alphas. I loved watching this pack come together & all the cameos from the other books! Definitely recommend this omegaverse series!
Playing With Fire by Melissa Huxley ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ | 🌶️🌶️🌶️ ⤷I absolutely love Fire House Omegas world books. Playing With Fire was an amazing addition! You can read them as standalones, but it's much better to read this interconnect series in order.
⤷ I really enjoyed Hailey’s story, the storyline, and the chemistry with the MMCs kept me entertained! I was swooning and living for the sweet love between her and Merrick. Wilder was such a fun and chaotic character who made me smile each time he appeared on page! I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed the mystery and storyline of Preston, and how satisfied I was with his return and making it up to Hailey.
⤷ This is perfect: if you are looking for a sweet/spicy omegaverse with accidental bonding, firefighters, a surprise pregnancy, and entertaining characters, who will make you swoon and laugh!

Up close I got a lungful of his scent—salt and caramel. Sweet with that sharp edge that made my omega perk up in a way she hadn’t since meeting Preston. “It could also be the concussion,” the other one added ruefully.
“Of course. And we'll use Preston's credit card to pay for it.” “Wilder, I don't think you've ever said anything so sexy in your life.” “Is that the way to your heart? Nesting supplies and fabric?” Hailey nodded enthusiastically. “Especially when you’re using Preston’s card.” “And what if I offered to hit a drive-thru on the way for a milkshake?” Hailey groaned in happiness. Her feet, dangling over the side of the open car door, wiggled excitedly.

🎀 Thanks to Melissa Huxley for trusting me with this ARC!🎀 All thoughts and opinions are my own.
After that little bit of a tease at the end of Melody’s book, I just knew Hailey’s story was gonna be crazy, and I was so right lol. It was crazy in a good way though. Hailey has it so rough after unexpectedly bonding with a random guy she met, and him running off back to the low security fire fighting convict camp he’s at. Separation sickness is no joke, and it completely turns her world upside down, especially when months later, she realizes it’s not getting better because of the souvenir the alpha left behind. What follows next is a wild ride full of bonding with a hunky firefighter who’s been obsessed with her for years (unbeknownst to her, even though she had a crush too lol), then meeting her absent alpha’s pack mates who go all in to do whatever she needs, and to make the best out of the unexpected new pack mates they acquired. What happens when the truth about her absent alpha comes out though, and he finally becomes an everyday part of her life? Can they all truly make a pack work because of one accidental bonding? While I really wish we had gotten more time to see Preston’s growth within the pack, I do understand why it took so long for him to fully enter the picture, and it was definitely believable & authentic to the storyline. No matter what, I loved seeing the way Hailey handled her whole life completely changing, not to mention the way Merrick, Wilder & Nolan stepped up & handled the situation with her. There was a good amount of spice in the book, and it was just the right level of heat to go along with all the warm & fuzzies. I loved getting glimpses of Sunny & Melody’s lives too. Definitely a nice little bonus. Oh, and that twist at the end…like girlllll, I know you didn’t do that to these people when they were FINALLY getting on track 👀🤯😭 Definitely made quite the wild ending! I’m so excited for what Melissa has in store for us next, cause our introduction to Hudson was done perfectly. If his pack is anything like him, we’re in for a treat, especially since Melissa’s omegaverse stories always hit the spot 💖
I really enjoy visiting this world so much. Hailey is literally the best and her alpha's are pretty great too.
Our fmc Hailey. Hailey is a very hard working paramedic, kind, caring, loving, brave and i love her energy and presence.
Our mmc's are Merrick, Preston, Wider and Nolan.
Merrick is a firefighter and has had a crush on Hailey for years. He is quiet and kind but once he comes out of his shell, he is actually really funny.
Preston is ex military but has done firefighting in the past. He is loyal and charming and I can understand why Hailey was so drawn to him. But he is hiding a big secret and has not only caused problems for himself and Hailey, but his entire pack.
Wilder is a nurse and just so bright, bubbly and I love his personality. I think he may be my favourite.
Nolan is a lawyer. He comes across really direct and a bit of a jerk but he isn't. He is just cautious and is trying to protect his pack the only way he knows how.
The plot was beautiful as always. After an eventful night out, Hailey finds herself bonded to an alpha she doesn't know and is suffering through bond sickness alone when he up and leaves her. Everything starts turning around when a certain pack finds her and an alpha offers to bond with her, however, Hailey drops the biggest bomb of them all, she's pregnant. Hailey and her guys do their happily ever after but they definitely go through their ups and downs to get there.
Shout out to the firehouse girlies and their packs, they are amazing friends to Hailey and her mates 🩷
Read this!!!
Thank you Melissa and your lovely team for the opportunity to read this story and to be a part of your ARC team. I am forever grateful 🩷

🚑 why choose 🚒 multiple pov 🚑 firefighters 🚒 accidental bonding 🚑 accidental pregnancy 🚒 second chance 🚑 hidden identity 🚒 spicy 🚑 so much more...
When I read the blurb of this book, I never expected it to be as wholesome as it ended up being. This is the story of Hailey, the EMT omega we all know and love from the previous Firehouse Omega books. On a night out, she sits next to this alpha whose scent she cannot resist, and one thing leads to another - until he lets slip that he’s actually a convict camp firefighter who snuck out and flees back to the camp. Hailey is hurt and feels stupid, but as the separation sickness doesn’t let up, she asks her work crush Merrick to drive her to the doctor, where she finds out there is in fact more at play.
I loved how the pack was a mixture of prebuilt and Hailey-built. They came together in a very unconventional way, but Preston, Wilder, Nolan, and Merrick made a wonderful pack for Hailey and complemented both her and each other nicely. They provide Hailey with the love, support and devotion she deserves. The family these firehouse omegas plus alphas have found and created in their stations is absolutely heartwarming and I appreciated this drama-free village they have to lean on. Where the story starts in chaos, it ends in such a warm, wholesome spot and it’s absolutely perfect for Hailey.
Adorable. This is a very unique story I think. We have the usual pack dynamics, but it’s done in a way that I haven’t read before (and I read a lot of omegaverse). We begin with a quick and naughty accidental bonding in a back alley, but Preston really needs to leave. Our FMC, Hailey, is now in a difficult position because she’s getting bond sickness from being away from her new alpha. Also, surprise! There’s something else she took away from that night. We have Merrick, a firefighter and alpha she always had a crush on to the rescue. Not to mention we have some surprise pack members of Preston’s, Nolan and Wilder, showing up once they learn of her to try to help with her bond sickness.
I really liked the way this was done, like I said, this was a pretty unique one! I liked the way the pack was built.
This is the third instalment in the firehouse omegas series, you do not need to read the previous books prior to this one, but we do visit some previous characters in it, and it’s nice to see them again. I love a Melissa Huxley book, they’re usually fairly low drama and feel good and this was exactly that.
I received an advance copy of this book in return for my honest review.
MFMMM AOAAA FMC: Hailey MMCs: Merrick, Preston, Wilder, and Nolan Accidental bonding Surprise pregnancy Friends to lovers Stranger to lovers Mysterious alpha
If you are looking for a sweet fluffy OV Melissa does not disappoint. This book is no different, it is the third book in an interconnected series but can be read as a standalone. There are some cameos from characters in the other books, but you can read this book on its own and not feel lost. Obviously reading the other books first will give for a better reading experience.
This book follows our FMC who has a one night stand with a cute alpha that’s ends up with a banding bite and him fleeing. Our FMC suffers from separation sickness and needs to be with her bonded alpha or bond a new one to feel better. Lucky for her she knows just who to go to!
I don’t want to say too much more without giving away the whole story. I will say though I do think this book needed jussssst a bit more to elevate to that 5 star level. It needed more grovelling, more relationship building, and I think we needed more story line and scenes from the alpha who ran away. All in all I did enjoy it though
Playing With Fire is the third book in the Fire House Omegas. And it's Hailey's turn to find her adventure.
I was excited when I saw that Hailey's book was here. She doesn't have the easiest start either. A quick, power changed hookup will change her life when she bonds with a stranger, and finds out that he has to get back to the prison camp.
Oh...and he has a pack.
So first I have to say that Merrick is amazing. As a friend, as an alpha, and as a packmate. He doesn't hesitate and he is there for Hailey. Wilder is funny and sweet. Nolan is the focused and intense one. And Preston is the one that is in danger and just wants his omega.
This book was a whirlwind. And the characters were a perfect addition to this omegaverse series. It is told from multiple points of view so you can get inside everyone's head. Also there is plenty of spice between this omega and her pack. I just wish that there had been a scene with Preston at the end.
What started as a fun night out with a friend quickly transformed when Hailey decided to take a chance on this sexy Alpha. However, they both get carried away and bond except Preston can't stay and shouldn't have been there to begin with.
This self sufficient EMT Omega was a lot of fun. She is feisty and loyal. Unfortunately the bonding sickness hits her hard. Though she refuses to let anyone know because she doesn't want to get her Alpha in trouble.
I adored Merrick. He is such a softie and when he gets the facts he has no problem offering to be the tribute. He has wanted to ask her out but this turns out even better.
Wilder and Nolan definitely do not make the best first impression. However, they definitely make her life easier.
This is such a sweet Omegaverse read. The pack is definitely not traditional but it truly works. I love where a story has crossover to previous characters. These guys are truly a great big found family and I love to see it.
Melissa Huxley really has me out here collecting favorite omegaverse books like Pokémon cards because HOW does she keep doing this?? Every single time I pick up one of her books, I end up giggling, kicking my feet, and immediately wanting to reread it.
This one was SO sweet. I absolutely loved the way the pack came together, it felt messy and emotional in the best way, and every relationship had time to breathe and develop. The chemistry was chef’s kiss, the emotions hit perfectly, and the found family vibes had me fully invested.
And listen… as much as I adored everything else, I am a little sad he wasn’t ACTUALLY a convict, if you know, you know.
The accidental bond, surprise pregnancy, complicated pack dynamics, possessive-but-soft Alphas, and firefighter setting? Melissa Huxley knew EXACTLY what she was doing here. This book was warm, spicy, emotional, and ridiculously easy to fall into. Another five star read from an auto-buy author for me.

Read if you like: Omegaverse Why Choose Accidental Bonding Accidental Pregnancy Firefighter MMCs
I’m obsessed with Hailey!! She felt so relatable and realistic. Her pregnancy was written very realistically as well.
Merrick was my favorite MMC but honestly they were all amazing. Wilder with his lighthearted nature, Nolan and his desire to protect his pack, and Preston with his innate nature to provide for his omega, they really were almost perfect, just missing a few people to complete their pack. Their devotion to Hailey was a dream even she struggled to believe.
She had them wrapped around her finger in no time and knew how to use it to her advantage.
I was WAITING for the scene where Walker found out - maybe a bonus scene?!
I absolutely LOVED this book! Wilder, Nolan, Preston, Merrick, and Hailey really have a special place in my heart, and are some of my favorite characters from Melissa. Wilder with his golden retriever attitude, Preston and Nolan being all rough on the outside and soft on the inside, Merrick falling harder and first, and Hailey with her badass independence all ended up being such a fantastic pack in the end and I was so happy to be able to follow their journey. Trying to figure out why the characters acted the way they did and watching the twists and turns in the book was such a joy, I just didn't want it to end! I cannot wait for the next book by Melissa and look forward to getting to watch this pack grow through the tie ins she has with previous packs in later books.
Hailey, Merrick, Wilder, Nolan, and Preston were each such amazing characters! It was easy to like each of them throughout the book. They easily became my favorites by the end of the book. It did kind of suck not to have much of Preston, but the story of where he was fit perfectly with the story and did add a more interesting layer. It also made how Hailey met the rest of her pack entertaining. They had such perfect chemistry together immediately, and I loved how amazing they were with Hailey. Especially Preston, once he rejoined them after returning from the job he was completing.
Overall, it was such a fantastic read! I am never disappointed by a book from Melissa Huxley and I cannot wait for the next book in the series!
This is another great addition to the series and I love the way Hailey drew four completely different men into her sphere to give her all the love she deserves. She's an EMT, doing a hard job, and she's not only tough but super kind/caring. She's been crushing on Merrick, the firefighter, but she didn't realize that he's been crushing hard on her, too ;) With the accidental bonding to 'convict' Preston, she ends up with lawyer, Nolan, and nurse, Wilder, in town to help her with her bonding sickness... What follows is a wonderful, low angst, tinged with mystery, sweet and steamy RH romance that ends in a fab HEA...and an accidental pregnancy. Lol! I loved it and can't wait for the next book :D
This was just too dang cute, I couldn't put it down! I would say it was very low angst, all the issues were resolved fairly quickly (aside from the separation), and it made for an easy read. I loved that Merrick jumped in and offered to help immediately, like no hesitation, saw the opportunity, and knew that it was his chance. Also, Hailey is a boss. I thought it was hilarious that she was swinging a bat first and asking questions later, also soooo thankful she took Wilder's sock suggestion to heart. I wish we had gotten to see a bit more of Preston and Hailey though, especially after they both had so many issues with being apart, but lesson learned here? Ask a few more questions before dragging a stranger into a back alley!
This is the third book in the Fire House Omegas series. It was such a wonderful read. I love this series. I have read the previous 2 books in this series and became hooked. Actually I was hooked after reading the first one! This FMC is such a strong person. She has to be because of who she is and what she does. She is just minding her business and living her life when life throws her a curveball. A whole bunch of curveballs, one after another. Now she has to deal with everything knowing nothing will ever be the same again. Thank you, Melissa Huxley. For another wonderful story about a strong and beautiful Omega. I love reading series because you continue to see characters from the previous books. We are able to see updates into their lives and I love that!!
Playing with Fire by Melissa Huxley is Hailey's story about building together her pack.
Hailey is an EMT who ended up accidentally bonded to a random Alpha one night. He ended up running off because of circumstances, and Hailey ends up sick because of the separation. On top of the separation sickness that she has to deal with, Hailey finds out she is pregnant. Things aren't exactly going well for Hailey, but luckily, she has another Alpha friend to lean on. Oh, and while all this is going on mystery guy has a pack that comes in to help!
One thing I can tell you, Hailey is a strong Omega for dealing with all she had to deal with. While the journey was rough at times, their happy ending was well deserved.
I was excited to get another great book by Melissa! I am loving these fire house omega books! They are all so good and so different. Each story is unique and this one is another good one! I liked the characters and plot.
I really liked how the bonding was it was good. Hailey is such a good character I have loved her from the beginning. I liked that she is an EMT. I will say Hailey had it rough. The accidental bonding then the sickness, etc. but I like how eventually the MCs and Hailey come together. I wish we could have had a little more time with one of the MCs but I do like how they all eventually get there together.
Overall, great book! If you like omegaverse I’d recommend this beauty.
Some of my favorite tropes! In this omegaverse we get some of my favorite tropes; accidental bonding, accidental pregnancy, secret identity, secret longing. Another great novel by Melissa Huxley with sweet alphas and a pretty tough, independent omega. Mr. Accidently Bonded and then walked away has a lot of explaining to do. Thankfully, Hailey's friend Merrick, who has been in love with her for some time comes to the rescue. And the rest of the pack shows up to help with the separation sickness, one small concussion later, and they're keeping Hailey company too. Loved this adorable HEA for Hailey and the guys.
I got so excited with this book, that I literally couldn't go to bed until I finished it! I fell in love with the whole pack and overall had an amazing time reading the book. It has everything I like in an omegaverse, the love, the taking care of the omega, this found family aspect of forming a pack and a pregnancy trope in the mix. This is my first book in this Fire House Omegas series and I think I'm going to need to go read the other two if theu're gonna be at least somewhat as amazing as this was.
I cannot tell you how much I enjoyed reading this, since I read this premise at the end of Melodys book I was hooked, I mean is so unique… accidentally bonding with a convict? Whaaaat?! Haha is so out of norm for a “meet cute” that I was like ok tell me more!
Hailey is an amazing FMC, she’s caring and loving but so damn strong and sassy, just the perfect combo to deal with her chaotic energetic but sweet and caring pack! And also her work as EMT, she’s a completely bad ass!
Talking about the alphas, I just love them all… the situation was so messy but all of them take it right away, no doubts and full support for Hailey! They’re the perfect balance between being calm, confident and sweet and funny!
As a fan of OV i just love to see so many different takes on bonding, pregnancy and the overall dynamics, so this one right here was an amazing and refreshing experience!
I devoured this book! The storyline was fun and original. It was filled with humor, a little chaos, emotional moments, secrets, angst, and spice. I loved Hailey. She was smart, independent, and caring. Merrick, Preston, Nolan, and Wilder were her alphas. They all were so different and still fit Hailey just right. My favorite part is how they all become a pack. It brought out the banter, humor, drama, and even chemistry. Most importantly, the pack they were meant to be. This was a sweet read and it had the perfect ending for Hailey and her men!
Playing with Fire is the third book in the Fire House Omega series by Melissa Huxley. This can be read as a standalone; we do see characters from the first two books but you don’t need to know those details to enjoy this story.
The book was my favorite in the series so far. Hailey is a great character trying to make the best of a complicated situation. I loved Merrick; the alpha who has crushed on Hailey from afar. Wilder brought many laughs to the story. Nolan was a great support to everyone in the pack. Preston is the alpha that needs to grovel.
Love a smart and feisty fmc who stands up for herself! The alphas were all separate characters (a big bugbear of mine is when you have multiple mmcs were merge into each other and you struggle to tell them apart) and I loved how they all had strong separate relationships with Hailey. I really appreciated how she spent time developing their relationships and getting to know her alphas before getting jiggy (well mostly lol). It was a fun read with just the right amount of mystery for me. Another winner from Melissa.
As soon as I saw this was released it wa an auto read. Absolutely incredible read, no complaints except from my family who I ignored all day to read this. The banter was phenomenal, and the pack building dynamic was different. Everything formed organically and at different rates, giving each character there own stand out moments. I truly appreciate when reverse harem characters don't blend in my mind and I can actually tell them apart with out flipping back. Excellent read, 10 out of 10 recommend.
This was such a cute and spicy Omegaverse by Melissa Huxley. Hailey our kick@ss FMC is an EMT, she ends up meeting a guy in a bar and after a quick hookup in it alley with an accidental bonding she ends up pregnant. The only thing is, the alpha from the alley took off running after their hookup.
She ends up doing what she needs to for her health and the health of her baby. She bonds a firefighter that she's had a crush. Add in the mysterious alpha that ran and the fact that he had a pact it all makes for hilarious, steamy, tension filled story.
Another great story from Melissa with Hailey and her pack. I was hoping at the end of the second we would find out more about this mysterious bonding of Hailey's and im so glad that we did.
When Hailey goes out to let off some steam, she runs into an alpha who she accidentally bonds with and then he has to get back to the Convict camp he lives at! Talk about a WTF moment! But then his pack, bc surprise he totally has a pack, comes to help her through her separation sickness.
But we cant forget about the alpha who has been pining over Hailey for years. He bonds with her and joins their pack and was the piece she needed to feel confident to trust the others.
IF you enjoy accidental bonds, accidental pregnancy, firefighters, possesive but soft for their omega only alphas, and pack dynamics that are complicated but come together so good.... this is the story for you!
