Shootout Daddies - Summer James

This author has a very addictive and bingeable writing style. I love the way that they write their universes and their characters. Each book is always just so fun and I love how the characters all interact and that you see the characters from the other books as well. The chemistry between Ivy, Rhett, Hunter, and Landon was very fun and I had a great time reading it. I can’t wait to see what else this author writes since I there isn’t a book they’ve written that I haven’t loved.

I am no stranger to Summer James and her writing. Shootout Daddies is yet another book that did not disappoint. I liked the fact that is varies from your usual menage storyline.

When Ivy meets Rhett and Hunter, through her friend Brooke and her husbands, the two men are longtime friends with a. history of sharing. They are players on the same professional hockey team and have worked with Brooke's husbands for a while. Ivy has come to town for the summer to help Brooke with her new twins.

One night, after a winning game, one of Brooke's husbands offers to take Ivy to a team party. While getting some air on the patio, she meets Rhett. He's tall, dark, handsome, and turns on the charm. Their connection is instant. Hunter finds them outside and, together, the men ask her to join them at a club. They never make it to the club, and that begins their time together as a threesome.

Landan is the new, temporary lawyer for the hockey team. He is older than Ivy and the guys. He has history, a past, and an ex-wife who has left him with some emotional scars. He is drawn to Ivy, but fights it hard. After seeing her with Rhett and Hunter on the patio, he knows they are all together.

Then the story takes a turn. Someone leaves a baby on Rhett and Hunter's door. It seems a woman they have shared before left them with more than a good time and now can't handle the responsibility. Ivy, Rhett, and Hunter take care of Chloe together. Landan thinks the baby is Ivy's. Rhett and Hunter need Landon's help to find out who is really the father, and to get legal custody of Chloe. Through it all, Landan and Ivy can not fight their attraction. Rhett and Hunter are ok with this and actually encourage her to explore what is happening there.

I really liked that Landan was not friends with Hunter and Rhett from the beginning of the story. Most MMFM stories have a group of men that have been friends for a long time introduced to a woman they end up sharing. This element added some variation, and an interesting piece of the puzzle.

Another great steamy reverse harem with the Miami Iceman. Ivy, an entertainment lawyer, needs a break before joining a major law firm. For the summer she goes to Miami to help her friend, Brooke, with her twin girls. Brooke sends her to a team party as the plus one for one of her husbands, Tanner. Alone on a balcony she is spotted by Rhett who ambles over. As they chat, Hunter comes looking for Rhett. She has a decision to make; have Tanner take her home or go out with the guys. That becomes going home with the guys for her first!

As she becomes involved with them, complications arise. A baby girl left on the guys doorstep, and the team’s new lawyer moving next door. As she helps the guys deal with the baby, sparks fly with the grumpy lawyer. Is she cheating on the guys? Will they be angry? Will she have to choose between them? Will this situation blow up the guys career? Who is the baby’s father. Read on and enjoy!.

This continuation of the Miami Iceman series shifts the spotlight to Ivy, who we first met in the previous book. You don't have to read the previous books but there are past characters that show up.

Ivy shines with her confidence, honesty, and openness, making her an easy character to root for. Rhett and Hunter’s friendship is rock solid, and the way they support each other is heartwarming. I especially loved how they were willing to open their hearts and welcome Landon, creating a true found family.

The author does a wonderful job of showing the guys’ vulnerability, allowing them to feel and express real emotions, which adds so much depth to the story. With unexpected twists, plenty of spice, and a journey toward love, this book is both engaging and heartfelt.

This is an enjoyable story, and I have loved this series. Ivy had come to town to help her best friend Brooke, when she had her twins, and while she is at a function, she meets Rhett and Hunter who are a part of the NHL team Miami Icemen. She starts a relationship with them which is only for the summer, but when the guys have a baby dropped on their doorstep and being told that one of them is the father they form a family. Then later, Landon who is the team lawyer enters into a relationship with them as well, and not long after Ivy discovers that she is pregnant to one of them. This is their story and how they eventually formed their family unit and have their HEA.

Lawyers and hockey players

This is another brilliant, well written, fun romantic ice-hockey RH from Summer James. With humor, banter, Ice hockey players, lawyers, age gap romance, great storyline, a puppy, wonderful chemistry, romance, passion and love.

Ivy (who we met in "Cross Check Daddies") has a complicated life with her parents, a job in New York and life so comes to Miami to stay with Brooke and help with her twins. But after meeting a couple of the Icemen (Rhett and Hunter) she starts spending more time with them and a homeless puppy they find.

When Rhett and Hunter have a baby left on their doorstep Ivy offers to help with her as well. But when the new team lawyer, Landon, moves in next door Ivy finds herself drawn to him as well as the two she's living with. But can the three men make it work with her; Rhett and Hunter are used to sharing but how does Landon feel about it; and how will they react when she finds herself pregnant?

A great read with lovely personal developments for all of the MCs. I have loved reading this and look forward to what Summer James writes next.

This is my second read for this series and I was excited to see Brook's bestie get her happily ever after! Overall I enjoyed the story, it just moved a little fast for me. I think this book could've been longer to add in more relationship development between the guys and Landon and Ivy. Landon never seemed to fit in to me the way the other two guys did. I did enjoy his more dominant style and the contrast between him and the other two guys who were solid cinnamon roll/ golden retriever types. I think this book is a great quick read if you aren't one to dissect your reads.. just accept the info as given and enjoy the ride.

One would think that stories with seemingly the same components would feel the same, but the uniqueness of each human's experience brings the twists and turns that make their own story.

I have read the other stories in this series, and each book stands alone with interwoven layers. They have heat, love, joy, worry resolved, babies, HEA, and family found.

The books are well worth my time. I was happy to spend it with my old and new friends.

Shootout Daddies is book 4 of the AMAZING Miami Iceman series. Summer James did NOT disappoint with this addition to the series. It keeps getting better and better! The story line was interesting, intense, emotional and kept you wanting more. The characters were all around amazing! The personalities of each of them was off the charts. The chemistry between them was very intense, steamy, and just wow. I really enjoyed reading this book and I can't wait to see what Summer comes out with next.

What a wonderful read. I've discovered that I am absolutely addicted to reverse harems, and this book absolutely fueled my addiction hehe! Well written, with diverse characters who are total opposites to each other, but meld together as a perfect unit, even if they do have their ups and downs!
I was hooked from the start and stayed that way throughout right up to the end! And, I loved that there was a bonus chapter at the end as well!

Feel good stories are just so necessary for the soul. This story is clearly getting into that category.
There is love, love and love, and some more love. All bundled up in a beautiful story with a good storyline, well written characters and overall a book very worth using the time needed to read it and enjoy it immensely.
I am very glad that I can give it fabulous four stars.

This is the story of Ivy, Rhett, Hunter and Landon and how they find their way to make the 4 of them a family. Ivy is on an extended vacation prior to starting a new job while Rhett & Hunter pursue their hockey careers and Landon takes a temporary job as the lawyer for the hockey team. Rhett & Hunter share a condo and one day find a 9 month old baby on their doorstep. Ivy steps up to help them adjust. In the course of learning to care for the infant the four adults learn to trust and care for each other.

Despite the trials and tribulations of finding their way to each the story has a HEA

Another knockout reverse harem book by summer! When Ivy was introduced in the last book as Brooke’s BFF I got excited to see if she would get her own book and I’m so happy she did! Ivy is one tough girl but has a heart of gold. The way she embraces Chloe just melted my heart. I love all the men but Hunter had to be my favorite out of all of them.

Passionate Surprise

While staying with her friend Ivy meets Rhett and Hunter, establishing a passionate but unusual relationship. Later with the addition of Landon, this groups dynamic and chemistry were explosive. It was an intriguing read full of love, surprises and intense emotion. I could not put it down.
