Based on a real event at Manly beach, a young shark pup learns to survived in the sea until caught up in the surf and washed ashore. The attempts to rescue the pup are challenging and marine experts from the Sea Life Sanctuary are needed to keep the pup alive until it can be returned to the ocean.
The story is told in short sentences in well spaced print across double page spreads. This is supported with factual information in smaller, and variously coloured text that swirls across the page (and is not as easy to read). The story text and factual text work well together creating an interesting and informative text that highlights the important conservation work of the sanctuary.

This true story, beautifully written with gorgeous artwork, brings the reader into the world of one of nature’s misunderstood creatures. Each scene is a page turner, as the sense of urgency felt by shark pup’s rescuers is palpable. Sidebars provide interesting, easy to follow facts about great white sharks and the complexities of the rescue process.

Such a sweet book about Fluffy, the juvenile Great White that got beached in 2017. Beautifully illustrated and full of facts about sharks.
