It was good but it did felt a bit too “much” sometimes ?

I really liked the MCs dynamic, even though it wasn’t slow-burn it’s still kinda felt like it sometimes ?

Character wise, they were both really well written. The FMC as this hot tempered, not scared and daring character was really refreshing. Often, lately, FMCs in the dark romance genre are written as those meek, shy, silent and without an ounce of backbone whatsoever. So it’s really enjoyable to be able to read about a character such as Kasi.

The MCs was also well written: intimidating, mysterious, charismatic. He was the kind of MCs you love to read about whilst reading a dark romance.

Writing wise I do believe that it was sometimes too over the top. That kept me from enjoying the story fully. As a language major, I do believe that a character being able to speak almost fluently in 6 different languages feels like an over reach. If the character had any reason to learn multiple languages at a young age I would have been more inclined to believe that it could be true. But realistically talking, it really felt like it was added more as a “waow effect” more than anything else.

The plot was interesting, I didn’t see coming a few of the twists, they were well done.

wow this was an incredibly exciting complex and emotional story. Kasimira is a young 22 yr old who escaped a hellish abusive torturous relationship only to find herself broke homeless with no where to turn contemplating suicide. she's offered a chance to be a high class escort one night one man huge pymt so desperate she takes it. there she meets alaric 42 a feared mafia boss but in the shadows she doesn't really see his face well and has an incredible night. months later she sees her tormentor is dead so goes to his funeral where alaric sees her. it ends up she's been named in his will and must legally marry alaric who in shock is her ex's father in order to inherit millions. she resists so alaric holds her prisoner but she repeatedly escapes until mafia enemies find her. finally she gives in and agrees to marry him. the story then unfolds with everything that happens as they navigate their way in this insane marriage, multi million dollar deals, mafia ties, mafia wars, enemies trying to kill them, and the chemistry that keeps growing between them. alaric tries but can't resist his new wife and kasi keeps enticing him to have sex with her. alaric sees one night that kasi is brilliant and helps smooth and negotiate many deals with other mafia bosses which changes everything. they come together one night and he claims her as his own and it changes everything. a surprise pregnancy, a shoot out, injuries, and suspected betrayal by someone very close to them all make life extremely dangerous and they have to navigate treacherous waters balancing their new found love for each other, the fear of having something to lose now, enemies closing in, and new disturbing information about her ex his son that comes to light while exploring his business files. they must stick together and become a united team if they want to stay alive, protect their unborn baby and make peace with all the warring factions scratching at the gates. amazing world building, plot twists that are fabulously exciting, drama, danger, high heat content which really fit the story line and added thrill, richly developed characters and incredible detail. stayed up all night to read in one sitting and actually had to go back and reread some because it was so good.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ What a delicious, messy, addictive ride—Marrying His Son’s Ex hooked me from the first scandalous premise and never let go. Laylah Snow serves up taboo with heart: Kasi is achingly human and fierce, Alaric is broody and dangerously magnetic, and the stakes (a secret pregnancy, a devilish father-husband, and the shadow of a possibly-not-dead ex) keep the tension electric. The emotional beats land—grief, guilt, protection, and desire all collide in scenes that are equal parts intimate and suspenseful.

I loved how the book balances steam with real consequences; the mystery about Kasi’s late fiancé adds delicious dread and the family secrets ripple through every page. This is one of those guilty-pleasure reads that also makes you feel for the characters long after you close the cover. Highly recommend for fans of dark, twisty romances with big drama and even bigger hearts.

MARRYING HIS SON'S EX is a steamy, OTT, age-gap, one-night to more, girl gets her ex's dad mafia romance. An Age Gap, Mafia Romance. Kasi has been on the run from her abusive and dangerous wz, Dante. When she hears that he died in a plane crash, she returns for the funeral, only to find out her ex left her everything but only if she marries into the family. Alaric is Dante’s hunky father. He and Kasi shared a hot one night stand when she was working as an escort. No names were exchanged, but he couldn't stop thinking about her. Imagine his surprise when he meets her for the first time after Dante’s death. I love Laylah's books but this one was not my favorite. There was a lot going on. It moved slow at times and seemed too long. The chemistry was ok and the ending was happy after a lot of drama. 3.5☆s.

In this book we meet Kasimira "Kasi" Val- Moretti & Alaric Moretti. After being forced into a marriage Kasi is determined to make it on her own. The problem with this is it has made her homeless and eating almost nothing. After meeting someone at a bar she decides to take him up on his offer of a job. Alaric just planned on meeting a woman he could spend some time with since he had very little of his own. What he didn't know was that the woman he has met and felt a connective with is none other than a daughter in law he knew nothing about. Can these two find a HEA or will others make sure that never happens?

Another amazing hit by this author. I would highly recommend it to anyone.

What I loved: Kasi and Alaric’s emotional bond goes deeper than just spice, and the suspenseful twists kept me hooked. The blend of romance, danger, and mafia intrigue was addictive.

What I didn’t: Some steamy scenes felt thrown in just for numbers, and a few twists came a little too fast.

Overall: This is a dramatic, spicy, and surprisingly heartfelt romance. If you like age-gap, forced marriage, and mafia tropes, this one’s a wild ride worth taking.

Kasi has been on the run from her ex but when she hears about his death she attends his funeral for closure. This decision changes her life significantly. Despite his current circumstances Alaric cannot get the woman he shared a passionate night with out of his mind. The tension, apprehension, desire and uncertainty complicate their situation in the most intriguing and exciting ways. Betrayal and secrets are layered in between the plot that will have you guessing while leaving you on the edge of your seat.

Later she sees a newspaper with a funeral notice for Dante. Alaric finds her because she's in his son's will and will need protection from enemies. What happens after the will is read and the danger follows? The steamy story is full of action! 4.5 stars.

The strange and compelling story between A Bratva Boss, and his son's fiance.

Alexandros never thought he would be with one night hook up forever. Laylah Snow keeps you on your toes.
You just don't know how the plot will turn. Is this one a friend or foe?? The story keeps switching the characters
up on the reader. But in a way that keeps you hooked on the book, and you "Can't" put it down.
The story has the perfect amount of sex, fire pover, and Loves...into one perfect MAFIA book.
If you are looking for a really good book to read, Look no further.

Family you can trust?

This story is about Kasi and Alaric, plus Dante and Marco. Kasi lost 2 years of her life with a broken fiancé, Alaric gained a wife after the death of his son and the cousin played both sides before dying. Unfortunately not all those killed stay dead. A pregnancy, numerous contracts with other Mafia and the ability to speak several languages gives this book the International flavour. Several people get taken out but a new identity gives the main characters a new life.

When Dante is declared dead, he leaves everything to Kasi in his will with a clause that she has to marry someone within their family. That someone turns out to be Dante's father. This action-packed story is filled with dangerous layers that I enjoyed unraveling as I connected with Kasi and Alaric in this action-packed drama.

I think this was the best book Laylah Snow has ever written. The perfect mafia romance.
The beginning and end was a bit weak, or the end a bit anti-climactic, but everything else was spot on perfect!!!!
Adrenaline filled, emotionally charged, betrayals, resurrection, and unbelievable passion. Perfect age-gap, high heat, mafia romance.

Certainly has a lot of complex moving pieces going on in here. A lot of bloodshed too. It makes you feel for Kasi. She got the short end of the stick for sure. But I enjoyed the ending too it's wrapped up nicely.

ruined for me

When the h spit in the lawyers face, I lost all respect for her. Then she flashed a boat load of men. Ate at her wedding dinner like she was a barbarian. I skimmed through her chapters. Ending was more unbelievable than most. This is my first series by this author. I’ll try another book and see.

Loved Her!

So this was a long ride for me. I really liked our MMC but Kasi, our FMC was it. She was no meek and mild victim . She was a survivor of Alaric’s son Dante. She was a pawn in her fathers game and sold off to the mafia.
Check your triggers for DV and trafficking. But this read was a wild ride and seriously tugs at your heart.
