Twists and turns
Well this story was built from the plot twist at the end of Dash.
Dash aka Darrius and Alani are living their best lives. Their marriage has been a beneficial arrangement for both of them. Alani was able to secure 2 terms as mayor, while Dash was now a retired police offer with side quests....some dk dashing, a business owner, and a hustler. How he was able to keep this under the radar was beyond me. Life takes a turn when an unexpected situation becomes their priority. They go from living a life of leisure and freedom, to locking in and focusing on family.
While I liked the story, I did have a lot of questions. Was it really that deep for Nori? Like damn gone on about your business.
So many questions about Ava aka Vee, like who was she for real? Why didn't she reach out to Dash? Or her Siblings for that matter?
Who was the third girl? Then the randomness of the Hazel character....was this to express their "open" relationship?
Lastly, the mention of Alani's brother but him never being on page felt pointless.
The plot around Dash felt unrealistic. Knowing who his wife was, someone was bound to attempt blackmail or leak something to the blogs. Like did he have some ndas or what, but even with his life in the streets that wouldn't have been enough. However, this is fiction and a short at that so take that with a grain of salt.
Overall a decent read.

Whew…. After Dash I was so intrigued and invested in him, that I needed more. Then that ending shocked the hell outta me, and I’ve been holding my breath for part 2.

Miss Alani was smooth, smart, and calculated. Getting with Dash was a means to an end but turned into so much more. Their partnership was solid, and they were ready to weather any storm sent their way. And did the storms come…. 😮 After a hiccup or two, these two were on the path for answers and justice. Just wow! 👍👍

Alani and Dash story was crazy but I’m so glad it ended with a happy ending for them. I knew Nori was going to be an issue from book 1 but this much of an issue… WHEWWWW. I will be checking out more of this author catalog

Quick story with no misses. I am becoming a fan of her writing quickly and I want to go through her catalog! I enjoyed reading about the Ashton’s and seeing how their story continued. A good read!

this one follows alani and dash as they navigate power, secrets, and unexpected chaos when their carefully controlled world starts to unravel. what begins as a strategic relationship quickly turns into something deeper as they’re forced to face threats, lies, and everything in between.
alani was that girl 😌 getting with dash may have started as a means transactional, but didn't remain that way.
what i liked most was how solid their partnership became. no matter what was thrown their way, they were ready to stand together and handle it. you could tell there was real trust building between them, especially as things got more intense.
overall, this was a decent read with a strong couple at the center. the drama and secrets kept things interesting.

The Ashton’s
Idc what nobody say, THIS, the Ashton’s are a power couple! The way when everything came crashing down but they held up the foundation & rebuilt beautifully! Now Dash was still that man but he became the man to just his wife! Mayor Alani ran more than we thought behind the scenes. See Nori thought she was controlling something but she made what was already coming to her wayyyy worse & she ALMOST brought down her hubby! Poor V! I’m just glad Ariyah was able to be loved by TRUE family!

Uhm. Dash and Alani. Open marriage. Semi opened until her husband gets her dead sister pregnant the year before. And one of his ex lovers is tryna target his wife. Uhm so many concepts. Uhm alani not being close with her sister to even know she had a baby is crazy. Alani and her Ava relationship or lack thereof was non existent. She assumed her sister was an addicted. And dash experienced an entire different version. This book was definitely unnecessary. Because I was just as confused with the peen dashing hustle.

Dashhhhhh and Alaniiiii
Whew! Who would have thought their lives would be turned upside down the way it was. This DEFINITELY was different from the first book. A good 360 that I appreciated ALOT. And in the end, Dash is still that man! Tragedy would surely make you change.

Unexpected turn of events.
This was an excellent follow-up to the first book; the character development of Dash and Alani was both refreshing and unexpected. I truly appreciate how this author conveys clear and concise narratives.

Just when I thought Dash couldn’t get any messier… book 2 came to prove me wrong. I had no idea what I was expecting, but I can tell you it wasn’t this. Alani is that girl! A great quick read… now, where is book 3? 👀😩 I need more of the Ashton’s!

Interesting follow up to the first book. It was good seeing them as a couple in their marriage of convenience.
I wasn’t expecting some of the plot twists so that was fun.
I feel time there are some plot holes though. Who’s the third woman?? Is this deliberate for another book coming?

after reading dash, i was excited ab a part 2 & it gave everything. it was messy with such a good storyline & the plot twists jus kept coming. a short but rly enjoyable read!!
