Naoki was a bit of a loaner kid. He'd been picked on because of it, but the looks he's been getting from Vada ever since he entered high school are the first he's ever experienced... a collection of short masterpieces about sensitive teenage years, elegantly drawn by Yugi Yamada!
I wanted to enjoy these stories but part of the issue is I have never been the greatest fan of short stories. Low plot and minimal character development usually. Well these have even less plot. More like basic illustrated drabbles that have very little cohesiveness to them. Art wasn't very impressive either. No story jumped out as particularly good nor bad. Low mediocrity for me.
“Glass Sky” succeeds in having a range of stories that’s sure to please anyone who decides to pick it up. While there are, at times, some common plot devices and neatly wrapped happy endings, Yugi Yamada still adds her own twists to each story and makes the entire anthology a good read.
There are two stories that stand out to me. "That’s Enough For Today" and it’s use of the Kasa-Go performance is one of the most original ways I’ve seen two men fall back in love with each other. The dialogue between the two of them as the Kasa-Go performance progresses is beautifully done and the manga does an amazing job tying in the play with their relationship.
The title story, "Glass Sky," is one of the few stories I’ve read where a character deals with being gay. Most stories in the boy’s love genre have two guys fall in love but neither one discuss the possibility of being gay; they’re simply in love with a member of the same sex. “Glass Sky” not only discusses being gay but it also goes into gay bashing, a powerful issue that is rare to find in the genre. At most, stories will have characters being playfully teased, but this one goes into great detail about the hateful things people do to individuals who are gay.
“Glass Sky” is full of unforgettable characters and incredible story-telling. If you haven’t read anything by Yugi Yamada now is certainly a good time to get hooked on her art style, stories, and beautiful men.
I really like Yugi Ymada stories. This book has a few short stories in it and I enjoyed every one of them. I actually don't think I could pick a favorite out of it. The first one has two guys working at a convience store and the one has a girlfriend but is having sex with the other guy that also seems to like the girl. Another story is about two guys that meet once they are older and realized that they still have feelings for each other. Their is a story about the teacher and a student. The student grows up but is still jealous the teacher maybe with the younger students and tries to pretend he is a student again. (which made me laugh). The last story is a little more serious.

This one is definitely for adult readers. It has its fluffy moments in some of the stories, but some harsher moments too. The sex isn't super graphic but it is there
