This book was very interesting. It is a fiction picture book that has folklore art style. The book was choosen because of the title "Mom, Wake up and Play!" The cover of the book is soft cardboard with the illustration of a little mouse in his pajamas holding his stuff mouse on the bed as they watch the alarm clock. Its funny to see this because the actions the mouse take in the story is a true approach of a child. His character is based on a little mouse who is a toddler that waits around for his mother to wake up by the alarm clock. He is patient enough to not wake her and becomes very creative as he make his mother mouse a gift. This book gives a real life setting to children ages two to four. The illustration on each page was a spreadsheet which gave a saturated and subdued mixture of feeling that coorisponded to the seeting which was in a early morning home atmosphere. This book would be presented to a pre kindergarden class or smaller toddlers. they would be able to relate and understand the authors style which was simple and and exciting. I rated this book four stars because it was well presentable.
