This is a stunningly beautiful book of poetry! It is very well curated and I loved that the poetry was seperated into catagories instead of just being random. It really helps you pick what to read based on your mood. The themes were Love, Death & Spirituality, Social Justice, and Women's Rights & Feminism
Elizabeth's poetry has spoken to us for generations, and will continue to do so for many years to come. The ones I enjoyed the most were based on politics and women's rights. It makes me sad that some of these are still relevant for our current time, but I am glad to have read them.
I also enjoyed the "critiques" that accompanied some of the poems. They gave a lot of depth and historical info to help us understand those poems even more.
Overall this is a fantastic book of poetry, and is a must have for your bookshelf!
Elizabeth Barrett Browning: Over 100 poems on life and love (Gemini Gift Women's Poetry) by Elizabeth A collection of the poems curated to show the nature of life, and love from the view point of 18th century life. Elizabeth Barrett Browning married to Robert Browning was a poet that spent majority of her life exclusively at home. Her poems range form what she thought of love, how she loved and how she viewed the roll of women, and men. There are short synapsis of the poems in some cases that explain the language, and ideals of the time.
This book is a lovely introduction to the life and work of Elizabeth Barrett Browning. The book begins with a short biographical essay before presenting a selection of Barrett Browning's poems, separated by theme and including helpful and interesting critiques of some. The themes of the poems presented here are: love, death and spirituality, social justice, and women's rights. Reading this book has kindled an interest in Barrett Browning's life and work and I plan to seek out more. I highly recommend it!

Thank you NetGalley and Gemini Books group for the chance to read the arc for this anthology of some of Elizabeth Barrett Brownings works!
I loved a lot of the pieces in the book, but I must admit that her love sonnets sometimes dragged on and bored me senseless. I appreciated how the collection was curated.
That being said, I most appreciated the pieces of criticism right after some of her works. I feel like many more should have been included to guide the reader and explain EBB and her poetry. That would have taken this to a different level.
An excellent introduction into the life of Elizabeth Barrett Browning and a selection of her work. Wonderful for new and old readers alike, a truly lovely little volume. I will be purchasing a physical copy for my collection!
Thank you to NetGalley and Gemini Books Group for the eARC in exchange for an honest review.
This was a great introduction to Elizabeth Barrett Browning. I wasn’t that familiar with her poetry, and this book gave me a good introduction to the poet herself, and her work. I very much enjoyed the poems that were selected.
