Bold - Modern Legends of Sidhe: Book 2 by Hope E. Davis is a riveting next chapter in Sierra and Aodhan's adventure in the magical and sinister realm of Sidhe. While they are separated by fate and danger, each character has an important journey: Sierra, discovering how to add bravery and faith in herself to green the darkness, and Aodhan, assessing what impossible choices will mean to his path. Davis's masterful blending of emotional weight, high stakes fantasy, and journeys of character growth create a plot that is magical and deeply human at the same time. The verdant and originative Irish-inspired world, stamp, along with resiliancy, love, and sacrifice, is downright enchanting and will overwrite this fantasy-romance for readers. Sierra's transformation from soft to tough is admirable, and Aodhan's moral dilemma provides depth related to rocks, difficulty, and heart. Without a doubt, the combination of romance, intrigue, and mythic elements in Bold, stays true to it's title in many ways; a brave, articulate, and heartfelt ending that invests readers; so demoleshment is by page.

This audiobook follows book 1 Demure in the Modern Legends of Sidhe series. The world building in the mystical realm continued to be fascinating and totally immersive. There was more action and more at stake in this installment. The character growth with Sierra and Aodhan, captured Sierra gaining more insight in who she is to become in this new world and Aodhan having to assess the sacrifices he will need to deliver to make their world better for his people as well as the humans. The pacing in this felt somewhat slower than I remember the first one but enjoyed it nonetheless.

Narrated by Molly Briar and Caesar Esturco. The characters came to life with these two. I thought they both were fantastic. Would recommend!

The story continues! I overall enjoyed the listen. Molly and Caesar were excellent narrators and did a fantastic job voicing all the different characters. Caesar’s accent was on point.

The story was interesting enough. I did find the pace of the story a bit slow. But definitely more action in this one than the first one and a lot more happens. Sierra and Aodhan go through major changes and sacrifices are made. There are some surprises for sure.

The relationship I am particularly interested in now that Sierra and Aodhan seem wrapped up is Aislan and Typhon I enjoyed the glimpse into their dynamic.
