What do you do when the one person who made Christmas miserable also made it unforgettable?

Ruby Dawson hasn’t set foot in Mistletoe Meadows for twelve years, but now she’s back—on her own terms—and ready to relive the happiest Christmases of her life. What she didn’t plan for was running into her childhood nemesis, Dash Cromwell, mere minutes after arriving in town.

Dash is all grown up now, more infuriatingly handsome than Ruby remembers, and their old rivalry flares up as though no time has passed. From Christmas carnival games to cookie baking contests, their competitive streaks reignite, making them the talk of the town once again. But as they spar through Mistletoe Meadows’s beloved traditions, Ruby begins to see a new side of Dash—one that’s charming, thoughtful, and maybe even worth a second look.

With sparks flying and old grudges melting away, Ruby and Dash can’t deny there’s something between them. But when the holiday season ends, will their newfound connection survive outside the magic of Mistletoe Meadows? Or are they destined to remain Christmas rivals forever?

I wish every Christmas book was based in the cute town of Mistletoe Meadows. I love the Mistletoe Meadows Messenger and how nosey everyone is and how they know everything there is to know about Dash and Ruby. I giggled so much while reading it and didn’t want the story to end. In the first book of the series we met Sage & Madden and I fell in love with those two characters so much. Dash & Ruby didn’t quite reach that level of love for me but it was close. The fact that we get one more book in this series has me so giddy but also sad. What do you mean only one more book in this world? 😭 In this book we follow Ruby and Dash. They met each other when they were teenagers and were very much competitors in everything they did. Fast forward to now they are both in their 30’s and back in Mistletoe Meadows for the holidays. They of course find themselves back to competing against each other, except this time is different. Seeing them realize they actually had feelings for each other was so sweet. The nosey family members and towns people really added so much fun to the story. I cant wait for the next book!

🤭” If I had thought nineteen-year-old Dash was handsome, well, thirty-one-year-old Dash was another level of good-looking.”🤭

~What do you do when the one person who made Christmas miserable also made it unforgettable?…

“We were enemies earlier tonight, so now is the part when we’re friends. Remember? I told you, we’re frene-mies.”

-Mistletoe Fall Out, is an adorable holiday story to not miss! This story charmingly absolutely delivers on all of the cozy, magical, sweet, holiday magic: Christmas markets, Christmas games, ugly sweater dances, watching the town tree be lit up, disastrous baking attempts, Mistle toe kisses, and of course, the town Mistletoe Messenger, a gossip-worthy town newsletter that will have you smirking and giggling throughout. My friends, this is an enemies-to-lovers perfection, friends’ brother trope done right! I thoroughly loved the fantastic banter, delightful sparks of chemistry, the competing, scheming, delightful flirting, and the tender vulnerability of sharing hearts. Watching and seeing dear characters find where they belong with who makes them believe in happily there afters, with grudges no longer present, had my heart melting! There’s just so much delightful goodness within this cute gem of a novella! Worth the read!❤️📚✨

“Home is not a place, it’s a feeling.”

•Content: death of a loved one (off page-in past), strained family dynamics, feelings of loss/wanting belonging, no language, no violence, no danger, kisses only! Clean-closed door!

but I’m finding I don’t want to get off of the ride.”

-I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from the author. All views expressed are only my honest opinion.

Return to Mistletoe Meadows this season for meddling grannies, delicious cookies and some familiar faces. I loved the cozy feeling I got while reading this.

Mistletoe Fall Out is about childhood rivals, Ruby and Dash. After a 12-year hiatus from visiting the Meadows, Ruby decides to visit again and runs into none other than Dash at the place their rivalry began- the reindeer games. It doesn't take long for Dash or Ruby's competitive streak to come back out... but while they are competing over snow bowling, cooking baking and just overall oneupsmanship, they discover other feelings lying under the surface.

This cozy, closed door holiday rom com is certain to make you smile. I was able to start and finish it in the same day and am already wondering if we will be getting Cole's story next holiday season.

Thank you Larissa for this cute story and for the delicious copy of Ruby's prize winning cookie recipe.

Super cute short Christmas romance great for Christmas Eve but it’s just really short so other than some good banter there’s just not much depth in order for me to rate it more stars but for what it is it was super cute and very enjoyable especially for the season.

This story flowed like butter, once you start you won’t want to stop!  There are so many moments that make this a beautiful story and I’m here for every one of them!  Let’s jump on over to Mistletoe Meadows and prepare for one of the craziest weeks I have ever read!

Ruby Dawson has been staying away from the town for the past 12 years, but is she being completely honest about why she stayed away.  Upon returning, the town is booming with it’s famous Christmas Market and her personal favorite part, the Reindeer Games!  She still remembers with fondness beating a particular boy at one of the games, the Rooftop Chimney-Toss, but however great that memory is, she doesn’t want to run into him.  Mentally spoke too soon as Dash turns up shortly thereafter and thus her week back got a whole lot more complicated, busy and confusing!

While Dash Cromwell is no longer the lifelong resident of Mistletoe Meadows he once was, he’s still tied to the town with his family still being there and living across the street from Ruby’s grandma.  His competitive side strikes back up after he witnesses Ruby cheering on his niece to beat his nephew.  This sparks something in him, and he challenges Ruby to another showdown, multiple times over, but not just because he wants to beat her, but maybe because there isn’t something he saw in her in their youth.

The competitions are funny and the fact that the whole town is excited to see who will come out on top is hysterical!  However, my favorite part was some of the simple moments when they allowed themselves to be honest and upfront about their shared and solo pasts!  The raw vulnerability that Larissa wrote spoke volumes!  While this novella is short, it isn’t lacking a thing!  Job beautifully done!  Loved this story and I eagerly await next Christmas for the completion of the Mistletoe Meadows trilogy!

This story was so cute! It is a perfect Christmas read. Absolutely loved this one!

Ruby and Dash had fantastic banter and attraction. Their challenges for each other were hilarious. I loved how they opened up to each other and found common ground.

Favorite things:
-their reunion
-Dash’s thoughts and his determination to keep seeing Ruby.
-Ruby opening up about why she hadn’t come in 12 years.
-the trivia game and the sleigh ride!
-meddling family members.
-The Mistletoe Meadows Messenger
-Dash’s views on first kisses. 🤣

Favorite Quotes:
But as the years passed, I enjoyed our little spats and loved seeing her cheeks flush with anger, loved seeing her fidget when she first saw me somewhere, loved watching her look for me in a crowd in what I assumed was her way of preparing herself to spar with me. Yeah, maybe I was a little twisted in that area, but I liked knowing I was living rent-free in Ruby’s mind whenever she was here in Mistletoe Meadows.

I was beginning to think you could never know what you were going to get when it came to Dash and me. Were we going to be arguing? Competing? Flirting? Baring our souls? Or almost kissing? Possibly all of the above. Which had me giddy about what would happen the next time we were together.

Being around Ruby is like being on a rollercoaster, but I’m finding I don’t want to get off of the ride.”

What could be better than a Christmas romance? One that starts with a Christmas rivalry, of course! Dash and Ruby were so much fun! Their holiday rivalry started when she visited her grandma in Mistletoe Meadows as a child and continued through her yearly visits. When she returns for the first time in twelve years, the rivalry is still going strong... but so are the sparks... and I was here for it all. I loved the banter between them just as much as the chemistry! It's also no secret that I love meddling characters, and Mistletoe Meadows? Well, the town is full of them! Between the town's gossip newsletter and Ruby's grandma, there were many meddling moments that had me laughing out loud and smiling throughout. Their story may have been a short one, but it certainly wasn't short on Christmas cheer, heart and humor. This is definitely one you'll want to add to your holiday TBR.

Mistletoe Fall Out is a closed-door romance with kisses only and no language. It is the second book in the Mistletoe Meadows series but could be enjoyed just fine as a standalone as well.

This book felt like watching a Christmas romcom and I loved it so much! I absolutely adored the small town setting, the nosy townspeople, and the holiday rivalry between Dash and Ruby. Their story was so very cute and I loved seeing past characters incorporated in as well.

I also loved how each chapter (or set of chapters) represented a day, starting on December 19th and ending on Christmas Day. I thought that was such a fun and cool addition to the story, and you can read it in sync with the story leading up to Christmas! Mistletoe Fall Out was such a cute-easy read and the perfect romance for the Holiday season!

How adorable was this. The competitions between the characters and them only knowing how to act around each other when they are competing against each other was fun. Them also having a crush on each other for years, and the almost kiss between them before Ruby left for twelve years really brought the tension and chemistry together.

I loved to learn about them, while they were finding their way into a friendship and how to act around each other. Dash’s family and Ruby’s family were hilarious as well. And I enjoyed reading about meddling grandma Mabel again. She always makes me laugh.

Ruby’s past was a little rougher, but Dash was such a gentleman about it and wanted to give her everything she needed. The vibe and feelings in this story were beautifully written, and I was rooting for them. Even if they didn’t figure it out right away, they were so cute together. The almost moments, the pining, the sweet interactions, they definitely hit me in the feels.

I was so happy when they finally shared their first kiss, and it was a damn good one. The power it held, and I just knew they were gonna figure it out and get their happily ever after.

I really enjoyed the Christmas vibes in the small town of Mistletoe Meadows, and I can’t wait to return next year to meet Cole and read about his love story. He’s definitely a mystery to be solved.

When Ruby returns to the enchanting small town of Mistletoe Meadows after twelve years away, the last person she expects to lock horns with is Dash - her childhood rival and secret crush. What begins as a chance encounter at the Mistletoe Market quickly escalates into festive competitions, from Reindeer Games to cookie bake-offs, all while Grandma Mabel's hilariously transparent matchmaking schemes work overtime. The chemistry between Ruby and Dash crackles with witty banter and unresolved tension that gradually transforms into something deeper and more tender. As old memories resurface and vulnerable conversations unfold, the line between rivalry and romance becomes deliciously blurred, proving that sometimes your biggest competitor might just be your perfect match.

This story delivers all the cozy holiday magic you crave: Christmas markets filled with cinnamon and roasted chestnuts, ugly sweater dances, disastrous baking attempts, and the Mistletoe Messenger, a gossip-worthy town newsletter that had me laughing out loud. Watching Ruby and Dash's relationship evolve over the course of just a few magical days feels like settling in with your favorite Hallmark movie, complete with small-town charm and swoon-worthy moments that will make your heart soar. This is the ultimate comfort read for anyone craving enemies-to-lovers perfection, friends' brother trope done right, and romance that feels as warm as cocoa by the fire.

Mistletoe Fall Out is a delightful Christmas romance filled with small-town holiday charm. It’s a light, feel-good story you can easily enjoy in one sitting—and it was exactly what I was in the mood for. This is book two in the Mistletoe Meadows series, which takes place in the fictional town of the same name, but it can definitely be read as a standalone.

The chemistry and tension between Ruby and Dash is thick enough to cut with a knife. When their competitiveness turns more flirty than fierce, the whole town takes notice. They’re the kind of couple who can’t decide if they want to argue, or kiss… or maybe do a little of both—and I am here for it.

Add in town-wide Reindeer Games, a matchmaking grandma, a cozy sleigh ride, and an Ugly Christmas Sweater dance, and you’ve got the recipe for a festive, heartwarming holiday escape.

If you’re looking for a cozy, low-commitment comfort read filled with sweet, tender moments, add this one to your TBR!

I loved being back in the small, Christmas town of Mistletoe Meadows with their festival traditions and town gossip. Larissa Hommes is one of my favorite authors and I love her holiday novellas so much. This was just the perfect holiday read. I love the town of Mistletoe Meadows and all its fun Christmas traditions. Dash and Ruby were great. I love a true rivals/competitors to lovers and their rivalry and banter was so fun. I could really feel the fun behind it and that it wasn’t fueled by jealousy or malice. I really adored these two so much and I thought their story was just the sweetest.

This is the second novella in the Mistletow Meadows series and both of them are fantastic. So if you’re looking for some Christmas novellas to read over the next couple of days then definitely pick up this series. Mistletoe Fall Out is a charming, fun-loving, hilarious, and warm Holiday Novella that draws you into the story effortlessly and beautifully! I loved the first book in this series Mistletoe Meet Up and was so ecstatic to see side characters get their own story! Each book can be read as a standalone but I highly recommend reading them both! I am obsessed with the adorable banter, swoon-worthy moments, and wholesome Christmas fun! I LOVE a good enemies to lovers and the fact the rivalry started in childhood was so cute. Although there are many firey arguments, the decades that have passed highlight that you can never assume people don't change because they absolutely can. The main characters have such a hysterical and sweet enemies to lover pipeline and the settling is beautiful and perfect to get you in the Christmas spirit. I had lots of laughs while reading this book. It was like a Hallmark movie! This Novella is a light, easy read perfect for any time of day! I love it!

* CW: brief mentions of abandonment

There's nothing like a good rivals to lovers romance & that's exactly what you'll get with Dash & Ruby's romance. Their competitive nature lead to some great banter & flirty moments. I also loved how they were both able to be vulnerable with each other & relate to each other in ways that neither would've guessed. I enjoyed the small town setting & Ruby's grandmother & her matchmaking skills. Overall, I had a great time reading this one & strongly recommend it to readers who want a quick, but sweet, read for the holiday, or any, season.

This book was adorable and I love Ruby and Dash. Ruby and Dash are childhood enemies who have a very competitive and playful relationship that picks right back up when Ruby comes back to visit Mistletoe Meadows 12 years later and runs into Dash. Both Dash and Ruby start to see each other in a different light and it was so fun to read about their blossoming romance and of course their competitive shenanigans. If you want a cute, childhood enemies to lovers, and a Christmas read, this is the book for you!

This book really is the perfect way to start the upcoming holiday season! This was a simple love story and overall okay book. I personally didn't find anything exciting about the characters nor the plot. I'd say this is a good book for people who like fluff and light banter.

Maybe I'm just not used to reading small town romance, but I found it really funny how many times the town name was mentioned in the book.
