Gold Rust is a crime thriller about an Olympic athlete whose life suddenly changes. As the story goes on, more secrets come out and things are not as simple as they first seem. I was intrigued from the very first chapter to find out how everything would fit together. As I kept reading, everything slowly started to make sense and that kept me hooked till the last page.
I found John to be the most interesting character. His dreams, the choices he made and what happened because of those choices made the story even more interesting. I also liked how the story went between the past and the present because it helped me understand the characters better.
The writing is simple and easy to read and the short chapters made it easy to keep reading. A few parts were a little easy to guess but the ending still surprised me.
This is a book that I can recommend without a doubt. If you enjoy crime thrillers with family drama, secrets and a few good twists, then Gold Rust is your next read for sure.
