Album zawiera Deadpool Kills The Marvel Universe (2012) #1-4.
Cullen grew up in rural North Carolina, but now lives in the St. Louis area with his wife Cindy and his son Jackson. His noir/horror comic (and first collaboration with Brian Hurtt), The Damned, was published in 2007 by Oni Press. The follow-up, The Damned: Prodigal Sons, was released in 2008. In addition to The Sixth Gun, his current projects include Crooked Hills, a middle reader horror prose series from Evileye Books; The Tooth, an original graphic novel from Oni Press; and various work for Marvel and DC. Somewhere along the way, Cullen founded Undaunted Press and edited the critically acclaimed small press horror magazine, Whispers from the Shattered Forum.
All writers must pay their dues, and Cullen has worked various odd jobs, including Alien Autopsy Specialist, Rodeo Clown, Professional Wrestler Manager, and Sasquatch Wrangler.
And, yes, he has fought for his life against mountain lions and he did perform on stage as the World's Youngest Hypnotist. Buy him a drink sometime, and he'll tell you all about it.
You know what all those "Better Psychopaths" you were bragging about shoulda tried? A Gun.
That's not a spoiler. The title is a spoiler. After all, it doesn't say, Deadpool Attempts to Kill the Marvel Universe. And really, that about sums this one up. Professor X decides that it's time Wade got some 'help', and the X-Men pack him off to the loony bin. Unfortunately, therapy has an unwanted side effect for Wilson. He discovers that he's not as crazy as he thought, and embarks on a killing spree to prove it.
The whole thing revolves around Deadpool figuring out that he, and the entire Marvel universe, are comic book characters. His grand plan is to end all their needless suffering at the hands of the writers. So... PARENTAL ADVISORY WARNING Everyone dies in increasingly inventive ways. None of it is pretty. And not much of it is funny, either. There were a few really good lines in there, most of it to do with how silly it is that all of these characters have escaped death over and over again. Especially considering how relatively simple it would be to end them if someone really wanted to.
Did I like it? Well, it was short and to the point. Any longer, and I probably wouldn't have been able to take much more. But this book isn't aimed at readers like me, so there's no deducting points for that. It wasn't badly written, and I liked the way it poked fun at all the deaths and miraculous resurrections of this genre. The ending was foreseeable, but still a nice touch. If you enjoy the more violent gory comics, then this would probably be right up your alley. If not, steer clear of it.
"I gotta tell you, Deadpool . . . I used to think you were funny, but now you're simply annoying!" - The Amazing Spider-Man, unknowingly speaking for me in dialogue straight from the book
It's stupid. It knows it's stupid. I can't give it a 1 star because it's fucking stupid. I want to...but how could I? When Cullen obviously wrote this as it being stupid. Holy hell though half the shit makes no sense.
Listen. I'm not one of those guys who cares who can beat who. Cap vs Spider-man, or Iron-man vs Doom, or whatever. I don't care enough to get into big fights over dumb shit like that. But this book disregards most people's powers and uses of their weapons and skills in order for Deadpool to drop one liners and brutally murder them. Except it isn't funny, and the deaths aren't creative.
What I liked: Ummmm I guess Kitty prides "maze" of forever was neat idea (I wanted more of that!) and...yeah that's about it.
What I didn't like: Spider-man death made no fucking sense. Dude has spider sense. Task Master wouldn't be defeated like that, again makes no sense. LOL at Sue being so dumb as to let herself get caught off guard. X23 getting killed like that? Dumb. Just fucking dumb. If you're going to kill off our characters kill them off in CREATIVE ways that make sense. Not this horse shit.
Yeah. It's pretty awful. I can't give it a 1 star though because....wait you know what. Screw what I said. Like Deadpool I break the rules. A 1/5. Screw this.
I get the impression that this is the sort of comic that you will either greatly dislike or love in spite of yourself. Oddly enough, I found myself in the latter camp.
It's the ultimate in gratuitous violence, an entire series created simply to revel in Deadpool's ability to unleash terrifying levels of gory violence. And also his tendency to be divorced from his reality, and to lean heavily on the fourth wall. In this case, he's seeing beyond the fourth wall entirely, and he's far more cracked and violent than he's ever been before.
And believe it or not, it's hugely entertaining. It isn't a Deadpool-style absurd laugh fest, but there are definitely funny moments. But mostly the appeal is the senseless violence, which is absurdly enjoyable to read.
Deadpool happens to be one of my favorite superheroes . Though the story's ending was a bit anti-climactic , I fairly enjoyed it . A fun , short read .
A lame attempt to take Deadpool's "meta" trait (that he knows he's a fictional character), and use it as an excuse to make a serious violent story which does just as the title says: kill the Marvel universe.
What's the point, why did I just read that? Wasn't even funny. So he violently kills all the superheroes and he's dark or something now, and that's all. Not that clever
Bloody, disturbing, episodic, and absolutely the most perfect Deadpool story that needed to be told.
Contrary to what many of the reviews say, there is a distinct reason Wade sets on killing the entirety of the Marvel Universe... He comes to fully realize that his life, and the lives of everyone in the Marvel Universe, exist only for the entertainment value of an outside observer: Us.
It's not random, it's not pointless, it's not about blood n guts (though they are present in spades). It's about finally ending the constant torment that the people in the Marvel Universe endure for nothing more than our own entertainment. Wade doesn't just want to break the fourth wall, he wants to tear down every wall he sees.
In this story, the reader comes to realize that Wade's breaking of the fourth wall is far more sinister, disturbing, and existential than most previous writers have implied. He knows that the struggles, the pain, the deaths and rebirths are all the result of other human minds creating fiction. He never says this on-the-nose, but it's abundantly clear that he's ending the charade of the Marvel Universe, and aiming to avenge the fact that he even exists to begin with. We see the result of this realization as it dawns on Professor Xavier, and it drives him into a catatonic state.
To Wade's (twistedly correct) mindset, he's not actually killing anyone, because none of his victims ever actually existed to begin with.
This story is the logical endpoint of Wade's capacity to see beyond the fourth wall, and how someone with his history would respond to the full realization that he is only a work of fiction.
It's very disappointing to see so many people completely miss the central point of this story.
Fans of the 90's Joe Kelly run will find a lot of the darkness they may have missed since the Daniel Way run began in 2008.
Loved this! Reminded me of Beckett, Céline and Dürrenmatt - pair with The Punisher vs. the Marvel Universe! Deadpool (DP) has always had a strong existential undercurrent for me; an assassin who is almost immortal: how does he truly 'value' life? For me the best DP stories hint at answering this question. A really different take on DP.
Daffy, mad, bizarre, almost experimental comic featuring the Merc with a Mouth, Deadpool. Lots of fun, very gory, very funny, and an excellent comic. Full review here!
So boring! Deadpool discovers the fourth wall and takes a nihilistic approach of killing everyone, our favorite heroes, with Cullen Bunn literally winking at the end. Probably the most one-dimensional comic I've ever read.
Deadpool realised that every character from the marvel universe including himself isn't real, but fictional and that killing everyone wouldn’t make a difference because they’re all written and made up. So what does Deadpool do? He goes on a killing spree.
It’s a shallow storyline not really depicting the goofy and funny character (s) of deadpool.

3.75 I enjoyed it. The merc was mouthing most of the time. Some of the kills were a bit too easy to really be believable. Art work was decent, and I laughed.
A very good book. This book contains the four issues of Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe and five issues of Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe Again. The two stories are not related simply two different What Ifs with the same premise.
When the X-MEN take Deadpool to be cured of his insanity they find a monster unleashed. Deadpool kills the Marvel Universe. As stated in the intro this is not the funny goof Deadpool. This is a dark-driven and calculating Deadpool working with a single purpose. I would give this story 4 stars. In most cases, Deadpool seems to kill the MU too easily.
In Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe Again, Deadpool is being used as a weapon. A group of heroes are trying to save him but has he already crossed the line of no return? Is it already to the point that Deadpool needs to be stopped for anyone to survive? This story is 4.5 stars. Interesting way of showing how things look in Deadpool's mind as opposed to what he is actually doing. A not-so-innocent game of hide and seek is an example of this.
A great value book having both story arcs. This series was so popular that a third story is coming out. The book finishes with a thumbnail variant cover gallery.
Absolutely ludicrous and wild. It's painful to watch beloved heroes fall in the hands of Deadpool and his brutal methods. What I enjoyed most about this story-arc lies in him breaking the paper fourth wall and bringing the reader to reflect on Deadpool's character concept on a metaphysical level.
I was not a fan of this story despite understanding the narrative construct of what author Cullen Bunn was getting at. The tagline "What if everything you thought was funny about Deadpool was actually just disturbing?" explains how the violence we have come to associate with Deadpool is only acceptable within certain perimeters and what happens if that idea is pushed far beyond what readers are comfortable with.
4.5 Jeeeeeez I’m sad. I just saw deadpool shoot my favourite in the head (my favourite being Spider-Man)... anyways
Deadpool kills the universe — basically deadpool finds out that the everyone in the marvel universe are just puppets so goes and as the title suggests kills the entire marvel universe to put everyone out of their misery, you even get an awesome ending. ( as everyone loves deadpool breaks the fourth wall)
My thoughts - the good and bad - I really enjoyed how marvel wasn’t scared to make this gruesome and brutal and to me heartbreaking and I love that the book attached to my feelings in a way. The art portrays the murder really well and you get that gross feeling. I also enjoyed the plot. My problem was that the story was really short and since it’s short the characters deadpool’s killing don’t get a lot of time to fight back or not a lot of dialogue is shared, I think the team and the characters with the most dialogue with deadpool were the X-Men, Spider-Man and taskmaster. That’s why instead of rounding up like I usually do I decided the book was more of a 4 star.
That was pretty good. I ended up reading the final volume, Deadpool Kills Deadpool, first. But that's all fine and dandy, because I understood where the story was going.
My favorite thing about any Deadpool comic is that he's so funny and aware of the fact that he's fictional, and I thought it was awesome when he actually addressed the reader a couple of times.
Overall, I enjoyed it but I was far from blown away. In their defense, it's hard to be amazing with something this short (four issues).
What could have been another tiresome, bloody-to-no-end exercise in What If? futility is elevated by a simple concept - steal from the best. Namely Grant Morrison's Animal Man, and especially its pivotal 'Coyote Gospel' story. Deadpool's always messed around with the fourth wall, so he only needs a little nudge to realise that the heroes and villains are all puppets, with their unseen masters the writers feeding them through the woodchipper for entertainment...
