The perfect smutty little novella! All the glorious vibes of Theo & Rowan’s longer works, packed into a little bite-sized chunk of goodness!

Very cute, sweet, and spicy little story about a virgin incubus and the gentle human that summons him for an encounter.
Xak is a nervous, shy demon who needs actual sex experience to become a full-fledged incubus, and Kai is a guy on Halloween who just finished having a bad experience with another guy trying to get a little too dommy on him when he's the one that likes being in control. Very gentle, praisey, soft domming ensues, and Xak's virginity is whisked away, all tied up with a lovely little HEA, as they will continue to see each other after.
Sugary sweet, no angst to speak of, lots of sexy dialogue, and basically just fun smut. What could I complain about?

Xak is a book-smart but totally inexperienced incubus-to-be. In order to be considered a "full incubus" he has to get through a summoning, something that gives him quite a bit of anxiety - until he's summoned by Kai.
Kai's angry that his (ex) boyfriend decided to "take charge" in the bedroom. Kai doesn't want someone to take charge; he wants to be in charge. So when Xak reveals some of his nerves, Kai is ready to suggest the perfect solution: Kai is in charge. Kai decides every move Xak will take. All Xak has to do is listen, and promise to use his "go" word or his "stop" word.
Only 62 pages, ends HFN, but their time together was cute and sweet at the same time as being quite hot. I liked these two MCs together and I wish there'd been a bit more of a hint toward an HEA for them.

Review for Instructed by the Summoner by Rowan Amaris & Theo Behr
This is a good D/s story. Just wish there was more lol. I have been addicted to reading BDSM stories of any kind for about 20 years now. I search and search all the time for any of this genre I can find. Rowan & Theo did a wonderful job with this story. The story of Xak & Kai was so fantastic, Xak had lived being humiliated by teachers and fellow students. Kai changes that by telling him the opposite, which made him stop and think. Kai shows him that he is worth that and so much more, and he was willing to teach him that. I loved this story. I smiled and said wow a lot while reading this lol. I want to see what other books in this Halloween Temptation Multi-Author series give us. I love Halloween, so to read books with this trope makes me so excited. I love the fantastic stories these two authors write.

Every time I read a book by these authors I feel like I've eaten a really delicious meal. Like, it fills me up spiritually you know? Even their little 50 pages novellas of smut 😂
The way you get attached to these characters so quickly is wild. I was really only like 5 pages in and already felt like Xak and Kai were people I'd been reading about for 100 pages. I was so invested and in love with both of them.
Basically the plot you get along with the smut is Xak is a sweet and insecure incubus who is accidentally summoned by Kai, a human Dom. They conveniently turn out to be very well suited for each other and what follows is what you would expect. Obviously. This ain't high fantasy honey this is spice. There's a lot of praise and sweetness and Xak finally being convinced of the fact he's a Good Boy. It ends on a HFN with the promise of more and I will gladly take any and all Xak and Kai I can get.

This was cute and I loved that I could rock through it in like an hour since I'm bingeing a series and wanted a little spooky season treat. The author posted an infographic in a FB group I'm in and I immediately wanted to read about the anxious incubus with only a theoretical knowledge of his craft and his first summoning.
It's essentially one long sex scene, but I adored the praise that was heaped upon the blushing inexperienced incubus, Xak, and I loved the intellectual soft dom taking charge of their encounter. The chemistry was lovely. I would have enjoyed seeing a little vindication for Xak in becoming a full fledged incubus but that was not included. There's a HFN vibe with the potential to visit these two again to read additional spicy scenes, so if you enjoy a bit of a "teach me" vibe, you'll think this is a good time.
(There is a newsletter bonus, Gold Stars for Good Boys, which tells this story from Kai's PoV, again, it's fun, but the PoV switch doesn't add much to the story.)

Xak and Kai were able to give each other exactly what they needed. Xak wanted to be soooo good for Kai, and Kai loved how eager Xak was to please him.
There was enough back story for both characters to give this real heart and an emotional depth that I wasn't expecting.

Incubus needs experience
Not something that crossed my mind. I just assumed they were born knowing how to....well you know what they do. Anyway, there are a few surprises in this short story such as having to get summoned and pass the optimal test to be a proper incubus. Sounds simple but for how shy Xak is. The way Kai, the summoner, takes care of him is too sweet. Who would have thought there would be incubi that enjoy being praised as a good boy and let the summoner take control?

So far my least favorite in the series. Xak is an ‘incubus in training’. He is summoned by Kai, a mage. After introductions, they do a D/s scene together. Kai gives Xak homework, to make a list of everything he wants them to try the next time Kai summons Xak.
This was one chapter 80% of which was their scene. The writing just wasn’t for me. When they were in their scene, their communication was confusing and stilted. It just wasn’t for me.

This is exactly as advertised - a cute, smutty story. It’s beyond adorable with the perfect amount of spice for these characters.
While this one scene wonder is perfect as it, it adds just enough backstory to make me want more - which is just how I love my books to be 💕

This is so adorable and a little unusual. Not quite qualified incubus Xak is summoned by lovely human Kai, who sort of summoned him accidentally. Xak is only a theoretical student but Kai teaches him very well in a very hands on way. So sweet and they are so adorable together, one hopes they might find more together someday but the HFN ending works brilliantly. Love this so much.

I read the ARC for this book, and I loved it. Kai was the perfect Dom for Xak, and their chemistry made me smile and kick my feet. Xak was so relatable, and all I wanted to do was give him a hug. I can't wait to read Kai's POV of their encounter.
