What happens when a spunky barista and a buttoned-up businessman are trapped in a coffee shop during a blizzard?
They find a way to heat things up.
When a traffic ban is announced in the tiny town of Holly Hill, Alice knows she must shut down her coffee shop—Snowcap Café—for the night. While she expects to clean up shop and head to sleep with her grumpy cat, Archibald, she doesn’t expect to literally fall into the arms of a customer on a business call in Snowcap Café’s bathroom.
Liam has calls to make and places to be. As he takes a business call in the Snowcap Café bathroom, his privacy is unexpectedly invaded by an eager, elf-like barista. He’s running late for a first date and has no time for distractions—but when he finds out he’s snowed in, and with this overly-bubbly barista of all people, his carefully laid plans go right down the toilet.
As they spend time together, Alice and Liam’s initial annoyance soon turns into something more. But with Liam’s impending departure, will their romance be more than just a fleeting moment in time?
This novella is part of the Holly Hill Winter Novella Collection which also includes SNOWED IN WITH SKI PATROL and SNOWED IN AT HOLLY HILL CABIN.
This novella is a small town romance with tropes such as opposites attract and forced proximity.
Jennifer Aline lives in Western New York with her twin daughters and grumpy Miniature Schnauzer. She owns way too many plants, has an unhealthy obsession with vintage typewriters, and is a self-titled coffee snob. As a longtime fan of romance and women’s fiction (with some romantasy sprinkled in), her stories combine steamy elements of romance with the raw realities of friendship and family-focused themes of women’s fiction.
I know this novella is part of the "Snowed In" winter collection, but I gotta say, this story is FIRE!🔥
Jennifer Aline has an awesome way with words, and I love how playful she is with her stories, all while still packing a big emotional punch!
This story is sexy, and fun, but also touches on more serious topics, and with all the er ... coffee mentions, it is certainly on brand for Book & Brew Creative LLC! 😉

I loved author's writing style and I was hooked from the very first page. I loved the setting of the cute and cosy café setting. And where do I start with Alice and Liam's chemistry, that was on another level 🥵. Being a short novella, I read it in one sitting. Overall, a brilliant book that's perfect for the upcoming festive season. I highly recommend it and I look forward to reading more by the author. 💝 Thank you to author, Jennifer Aline for my arc ebook copy of the book in exchange for an honest.
Is part of a 3 book series of Novellas that can be read alone but they all have some characters you may recognise from the other books.
Snowed in at Snowcap Cafe by Jennifer Aline is about sunshine Al who works in a coffee shop that used to be her parents and she gets snowed in with uptight Luca...Lois...I mean Liam 😅😂
Snowed in with Ski Patrol by Rachel Kaye
Is about super grumpy Wren and her rescuer Nico and he gorgeous dog Hugo! She is on a mission and needs saving but gets saved by the last person she expected. This is a great second chance romance.
Snowed in at Holly Hill Cabin by Harriet Banter
Is about a couple Ethan and Mia who have had a challenging time and are finally going away for a break where they meet Juniper who they both have a spark with.
Such a fun novellas, My kryptonite is any books set in a ski resort! Having done a ski season when younger and always having loved watching ski Sunday 🤣
So these were great to get the winter ski vibe throughout all of them, whether it was the coffee shop, the Skiing or in a beautiful cabin. There is something for everyone.
All books also mention some hard topics such as death and PTSD but it was interesting how each book handled it slightly differently but each brilliantly!
Fab short reads and a great refresh before you dive back into a big series.
Thank you for sending me an arc for an honest review
Jenni does it again. Her previous books - The Ex Project and The Naked Book Club - are both books I’ve read and have very much enjoyed. Buut, this book was different than her previous novels given it is a novella and yet, she still entrapped me quickly. I loved both of the main characters, Alice and Liam (or is it Lindy, Lindbergh, Luis… the list goes on #IYKYK).
The book starts off with moving parts, Alice owns a coffee shop and there’s a sudden bad snow storm and a travel ban has been advised. She’s closing down the shop and finds a customer, Liam, is still there and unfortunately (or fortunately?) is forced to stay until the storm stops. Alice has this positive attitude and light while Liam may see things from a glass half empty narrative. They’re strangers; but they learn a lifetime about each other in just an evening and sometimes… you just know. Also, this book BRINGS the spice to the coffee shop.
If you’re looking for a shorter read in the cozy setting of Holly Hill (a cute ski resort town) with characters that have an instant connection, then add this book to your TBR list!

Snowed In at Snowcap Cafe is such a short, sweet treat of a romance—exactly the kind of story you want to curl up with on a cold day. It combines two of my favourite tropes, forced proximity and opposites attract, and delivers them perfectly with cosy charm and a touch of spice. The chemistry between the characters sparks immediately, and their banter feels effortless and fun. Although it’s a quick read, it manages to include just enough emotional warmth and flirtation to keep you invested. The spicy moments are tastefully done and balanced by plenty of humour and heart. This isn’t meant to be a complicated or heavy story—and that’s exactly its strength. It’s light, well‑paced, and refreshingly easy to enjoy. The writing flows smoothly, with a setting that’s cosy and atmospheric without needing dozens of pages to create it.If you’re in the mood for something steamy, playful, and uncomplicated, Snowed In at Snowcap Cafe is the perfect pick. Four stars for fun vibes, cute characters, and a romance that melts the coldest day
Oh no... a grumpy businessman gets snowed in with sunshine barista owner! Whatever shall they do?
That is the novella in a nutshell, but it's so much better than just that question - and I think we all know how to answer Liam and Alice will answer it! They've got the immediate spark, the banter, and the snow to help them out with their mutual attraction. Aline's writing is quick and playful; you're rooting for Liam and Alice while fanning yourself at the steam they let off. Absolutely perfect to curl up with on an afternoon!
This is part of a 3 book novella series, but they can all be read independently of each other. That being said, they're all fun, spicy novellas focusing set in the wintertime. Pick this up for a steamy afternoon read and be on the lookout for Snowed in at Holly Hill Cabin and Snowed in with Ski Patrol!
💼 Liam is a businessman ☕️ Alice is a barista 🛏️ Forced proximity 🧲 Opposites attract 👓 Slutty little glasses 🐱 Grumpy cat
I’ve been enjoying this series of novellas so far and this was another fun read! This novella takes place in Alice’s coffee shop after she and a cranky customer are snowed in. After Liam’s phone is ruined in the bathroom and he misses a date, Alice tries to cheer him up with a card game that quickly takes a sexy turn. The relationship ramped up pretty fast and was definitely lust at first sight for those into that! The only thing I would have liked to explore more was Alice’s backstory with her parents, but understandably the story was kept to a novella length, which didn’t leave as much room for character development.
Overall, it was still a cute and steamy novella with a cozy winter vibe!
Thank you to Jennifer Aline and Book & Brew Creative for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.
What a great way to start off this cozy season!!! This collection of Winter novellas was so much fun!
You definitely need to add all of these to your TBR. They are standalones and can be read in any order.
Thoughts 👇🏻
Snowed in at Snowcap Cafe - this one was definitely my favorite! I absolutely loved Liam & Alice!! I also really loved that we got right down to it. There wasn’t a ton of preamble.
Snowed in with Ski Patrol - Wren & Nico were great, they were so funny & I loved their dynamic. I love a second chance romance. The only issue I had was it took us forever to get into anything. With this being so short I wish we could have had them getting together a little sooner.
Snowed in at Holly Hill Cabin - I did enjoy this one, just not as much as the rest. There is nothing wrong with it, it was cute and our characters were fun & funny and it was a good read. But anything other than a monogamous relationship just isn’t my thing.
All in all, I highly recommend reading all three. While the temps are dropping, it was fun to just curl up all cozy & fly through these.
A cosy read with a spicy lil' kick to it! Such a great novella to kick off the holiday season. The two main characters are so opposites attract but they find themselves so drawn to one another with the chemistry that can't hold them back from one another. Who doesn't love a lighthearted trauma bonding session?! It was such an easy and fun read, that one bed scene was fire and the fmc is such a banter queen, hilariously teasing the mmc. The grumpy little cat was such a cute add!
Themes and tropes for SNOWED IN AT SNOWCAP CAFE: 💼 Liam is a businessman ☕️ Alice is a barista 🛏️ Forced proximity 🧲 Opposites attract 👓 Slutty little glasses 🐱 Grumpy cat
Thank you so much to Jennifer Aline for this lovely arc!
A super cute, sweet and spicy little novella! Liam is stranded in Alice’s cute cafe when the weather turns and there’s a travel ban, he’s a workaholic in his mid thirties and lives out of his suitcase. Alice is the complete opposite, she’s sunshine and smiles despite the cards life has thrown at her, runs her little cafe in Holly Hill but has dreams to travel. They share one night together in Alice’s studio flat, getting to know each other but their sizzling chemistry is undeniable and soon they give in and get frisky! Touch and go on their HEA but Liam comes to his senses!
I voluntarily reviewed a free advance copy of this book provided by the author. The opinions expressed are my own
This was a nice cute holiday novella. It was a quick relationship that managed to get multiple layers of the character out. They managed to find comfort in each other’s presence and know each other, rather than just getting lost in looks and pleasure. Their dreams and realities were opposite each other, and we surprisingly don’t end the story with heartbreak, but with a solution. A solution that allows them to continue doing their work but also allows them to be in the same location and not towns or states apart. I overall enjoyed this book and found the couple cute.
I appreciate having received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This was a great read!!! Alice is a Barista and Liam is a businessman. This is a small town coffee shop. Alice so longs to live the life that Liam does. He is free and travels and she wants that but has responsibilities and feels like she cant break free. Then comes a blizzard and they end up snowed in. Add in a spicy card game, some really fun banter, and some espresso play and things start to heat up on this snowy night together. This book left me wanting to read more. I was lucky enough to be an arc reader. I love Jennifer and her writing!!! So I have to thank her!!
This was a cute and quick novella. It was very hallmark esque. Which isn’t inherently bad but not a story that is very memorable.
I found the characters to lacking in chemistry. Don’t get me wrong, the spicy scenes were HOT but I imagine if these two characters were to go an a regular date together they wouldn’t connect very well.
I guess that’s the point of an opposites attract story but it just didn’t grab me. The pacing was a bit clunky and overall the novella was just okay.
Thanks to Book & Brew Creative for a copy to review.
I adored this story about two opposites caught together in a snowstorm in the unlikeliest of places...a cute, cozy coffee shop! The story is fast-paced, funny, and full of heat. Sometimes it can be hard for me to buy in to the HEA with novellas as there is less page space to watch the characters fall in love. However, I fully believed in Liam and Alice's happily ever after here, and I can't wait to see more from Jennifer!
Don't let the "novella" label fool you; this book packs a major emotional and steamy punch!
A spicy little forced proximity trope to get the butterflies fluttering and the delicious burn.
Jennifer expertly wove in hints of their past and future, giving these characters unexpected depth for such a quick read. I absolutely loved them could read a full novel of Lester and Allana 😉 easily! Can't wait to read more and lucky me I have 2 on my tbr!
This was a perfect read for anyone looking for a quick, cozy, romantic read with a handful of spice. Alice and Liam are a sweet and hilariously awkward couple with plenty of chemistry and banter. Snowed in at Snowcap cafe is a novella I’d recommend for anyone than is looking for a forced proximity, opposites attract romance with plenty of spice, hilarious spice, and a unfortunate snowed in situation that may just lead to love!
This book was such an easy read. It was hard putting it down. There is trauma dumping, one bed, a lot of spice. Espresso used in a different type of way. Liam, the MMC, was supposed to go on a date but was stuck with Alice, the FMC, because of a snow storm and not having a useable phone. I enjoy the banter between them. I can't wait to read more of The Holly Hills Winter Collection
I really loved this book. While it did have some funny moments it did going into some deeper topics. It was short quick and easy read. I think my only complaint is I would’ve loved to see these two characters in a full length novel. There’s so much depth to these characters that didn’t get explored and I truly enjoyed them so I just wanted more lol. It didn’t shy away from the spice at all. Overall really solid read and will definitely be picking up more from this author.
Definitely my favourite of the Snowed In... group of novellas. A sassy pixie of and FMC and the reluctant stuff MMC snowed in for the night at her cafe. The biggest question of this story is how long do you let obligation and responsibility dictate every decision you make. ✔️ Forced Proximity ✔️ One Bed 🛌 ✔️ Drinking Games
This was such a cute short story! I finished it in one sitting. Although it was a quick read this book was still packed with all the emotions. It was a fun, sexy, emotional read. The book touched on some serious topics, but still had a fun vibe. I Defiently recommend reading! Thank you Jennifer for allowing me to be apart of your ARC team!!!
Super cosy quick read with the perfect amount of spice for its length. I enjoyed their banter (Alice calling Liam different L names had me cheesy smiling along) and it was a super sweet interaction accompanied by a bit of trauma dumping, and a man-hating kitty with a royal name…. What more do you need in a quick read?!
Cozy, spicy, and a little bit heartbreaking. This fun novella will leave you feeling warm, make you laugh out loud, and might just make you cry a little. All while giving a generous amount of fun, sexy moments that don't disappoint.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I want to rate this a 3.5/5 but the ratings won’t allow half’s! This was a fast paced cute smutty romance with forced proximity and an opposites attract trope. This book was fun to read and easy to read too, shirt chapters (which I love) and a dual pov. I would rate the spice level a 3.5. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to read this arc I’m so glad I did!
I have felt this story line was almost closed to home in a way. With how the MFC was a work alcoholic and didn’t want to say No just like I feel with my own job.. then she met someone and her life changed co the better
This was a really sweet novella about Alice and Liam. I loved seeing how Liam was able to bring out the best parts of Alice in such a short time. He gave her space to process anything she needed to and helped her realize how she needed to change her life for the better. And the glasses are a plus!
Now this is my type of rom com!!!! The humor, the break in the 4th wall when referencing cliques. I loved it. I was chuckling and kicking my feet for the majority of this novella. It felt deep and light hearted at the same time.
