On the run, but divided. Nearly beaten, but not quite broken.
Then come the gunshots in the distance. In the direction of Chloe and Daniel.
Desperately hoping that they managed to escape with their lives, with Chip, Ellie and Lars by his side, Will must do all he can to get back to them. But with Will’s injured ankle, and Project Beta’s guards closing in, the odds are stacked against them.
Can Will find Chloe and Daniel again?
Or is it already too late?
Episode eight in The A-Virus Series – short reads that weave a thrilling, post-apocalyptic tale!

The Hunted, book 8 in the A-virus series, picks up right where book 7 left off: with Lars, Elle, Alex and Chip separated from the rest of the escapees from the Society and with Alex moving slow due to a badly strained ankle, slowing his small group down. Throughout the book, the separation of Alex from Chloe and baby Daniel resulting in excellent tension and the fact that they're being hunted by guards adds to it. The dialog is mostly clipped and brief due to circumstances, with a couple notable exceptions. We already know the characters from the previous 7 installments, so little time is spent expanding upon them. This is a first rate apocalyptic survival thriller series, despite the relatively short format! 5/5 stars, highly recommended for fans of apocalyptic survival thrillers, outbreak thrillers and thrillers of any kind. I can't wait for book 9!
This was a good entry into the series, the pacing was good, and I enjoyed getting to know more of the new characters (only for him to be taken away).
I did feel at times there was a lot of talking which took away from the sense of urgency that you were meant to feel with the book but either way you could feel the danger throughout.
A nice addition to the ongoing story, I am intrigued to see if they can actually make it away from the hunters or if more of the team will perish.

So the compound is now after those that have 'been released' which translates as let this group of malcontents leave and then follow them and kill them all. That's basically what the book covers as the main characters try to escape from the hunters. It's a dark story but it does keep out with the tone of the other books in the series.
not to fond of a running storyline. got bored here and there. still I continued to read. done reading even though story not finished. it was OK but not a page turner
