I can't help be amazed at the gifts God has delighted me with - a wonderful husband, four amazing children, and the opportunity to write for Him.

I've been writing as long as I can remember - I won my first book writing contest in first grade! Over the years, writing has become, for me, a way to praise God and see Him at work in my life.

Although I have a degree in Mass Communications from the University of MN, my real writing experience started when I penned the The Warren Report - a bi-monthly newsletter that detailed our ministry highlights.

Living in Russia meant I never lacked for great material - and those experiences naturally spilled out first into devotionals and magazine articles and finally into my first published story, "Measure of a Man," in the Tyndale/HeartQuest, Chance Encounters of the Heart anthology.

Susan and husbandI grew up in Wayzata, a suburb of Minneapolis, and became an avid camper from an early age. My favorite fir-lined spot is the north shore of Minnesota - it's where I met my husband, honeymooned and dreamed of living. The north woods easily became the foundation for my first series, The Deep Haven series.based on a little tourist town along the shores of Lake Superior. I have to admit - I'm terribly jealous of Mona, the heroine of my first full-length book, Happily Ever After, a Christy Award Finalist published in 2004 with Tyndale/Heartquest.

Our family moved home from the mission field in June 2004 -- and now we live in the beautiful town I'd always dreamed of! God has amazed me anew with His provision, and blessings -- and allowed me a season when I can write full time for Him.

I 'm delighted you've stopped in to visit. My hope is that you'll be blessed and encouraged by soul-stirring stories of regular people interacting with a God who loves them.

I'd love to hear from you! I love getting mail, especially from readers and I welcome your questions and comments. Write to me at susan@susanmaywarren.com. God Bless and Happy Reading!

What a fast-paced, heart-pounding, faith-filled read featuring cave rescues, treasure hunters, danger, and romance. In Too Deep is Noah and Meg's story, their brokenness, flaws, fears, grief, losses, and panic attacks. Oh, the lessons they had to learn when they felt like they had failed, about trusting God to be God, and about the light shining in the darkness and would always keep on winning. I cannot wait for Teague and Eden's story.

I was super excited for this second installment in this no spice Christian Romantic Suspense series with Rangers at the Grand Canyon. The idea of chasing after chests of gold hidden by Roosevelt is such a cool and unique idea. I love this take on things from the Law Enforcement Ranger and Search and Rescue angles where civilians are caught up in the search and not properly respecting the park rules and boundaries as well as not preparing properly for their trips away from water and shade. In addition, the natural disaster angles when rains come adds a whole new layer.

This book definitely starts us out strong with a cave in and lives on the line. Meg and Noah were dancing around each other in the last book - we almost felt we had a 2 for 1 romance there - but this book unpacks the pains and losses in their pasts and why they keep closing themselves off to each other. Meg has severe anxiety and panic attacks that hamper her abilities as a doctor. When a spotlight is thrown on that, tensions abound and danger rises around them. As a side note, I really enjoyed the inclusion of medical procedures and injuries.

I really enjoyed this book. The Star Wars references were icing on the cake. I am also really excited for the next one. I’ve loved the peeks into future MCs and can’t wait to be back with the whole gang again. The romance is just kisses, intimacy level 2.

I didn’t read book 1 so I was missing some character development but that’s on me

I do think this book showed me I really like romantic suspense! I loved the relationship having something exciting to develop around and I definitely felt pulled to keep reading

My main gripe was that you simply can’t be an emergency response doctor if you have panic attacks in emergency situations 😅 I know that was her growth curve but it was a tough sell for me

I still had fun and would read more by this author!

Gifted advanced copy from the publisher. Opinions are mine!

After reading Over the Edge, I could hardly wait for In Too Deep to release, and once again, I could hardly put it down.

If Over the Edge kept me turning pages, In Too Deep takes the adrenaline up another notch or two. From the very beginning, I was on the edge of my seat as the story plunged into the chaos surrounding the Grand Canyon after the discovery of the Roosevelt treasure cache. What starts as a rescue mission quickly becomes something far more sinister when Ranger Director Noah Wilde and Dr. Meg Lewis find themselves trapped in a deadly game of sabotage, revenge, and survival deep within the dangerous Tapeats cave system.

Noah and Meg are both beautifully written characters carrying deep wounds from their pasts. Noah, a widower terrified of loving again, and Meg, whose past medical trauma still haunts her, must face not only a relentless enemy but also the fears that have kept them from moving forward. Their journey is packed with danger, emotion, and moments that quite literally had me holding my breath.

One of the things I love most about this series is how interconnected the stories feel. We still get glimpses of Liam and Nimue from Over the Edge, which was such a treat, while the authors also begin laying the groundwork for Teague and Eden's story without ever taking the focus away from Noah and Meg. It creates a rich cast of characters that makes you feel invested in the entire Summer Rangers team.

Once again, the thread of faith runs deep throughout the story. I found myself highlighting numerous quotes and moments of spiritual insight. The themes of trust, healing, courage, and surrender are woven naturally into the action-packed plot and add so much depth to an already compelling story.

I absolutely loved it and would highly recommend the Summer Rangers series to anyone who enjoys heart-pounding adventure, strong faith elements, breathtaking rescues, and romance that develops in the midst of impossible circumstances.

Now I'm eagerly awaiting the release of Nothing But Air. If it's anything like the first two books, it's going to be another unforgettable ride.

I loved every minute of this fast-paced adventure! Definitely hit a point where I just couldn’t stop! I could hardly wait to get back to the Canyon with Noah and Meg and I was not disappointed. I liked this second book even more than the first, and that’s saying a lot.

Noah and Meg are both broken by their pasts, but their friendship has started to tear down those walls. But over and over circumstance and fear keep driving them away from each other. Can they trust God with their darkness before it’s too late?

I loved how faith-filled this story is. It’s messy and hard, but our characters learn they can depend on God while they’re going through it. It’s not easy for either of them and it makes the ending that much sweeter. It even has a theme verse and I’m here for it. I loved all of the high-stakes action! So much fantastic suspense created by both human elements and nature. The glimpses of Eden and Teague’s upcoming story make me so glad I don’t have that long to wait. This series’ characters have captured me and I want to join their friend group. These characters feel so real, probably because of how broken and imperfect they are. It’s been so rewarding to see how they are growing and changing as they build relationships with each other and with God.

𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝒍𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕 𝒔𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒆𝒔 𝒊𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒅𝒂𝒓𝒌𝒏𝒆𝒔𝒔, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒕𝒆 𝒅𝒂𝒓𝒌𝒏𝒆𝒔𝒔 𝒉𝒂𝒔 𝒏𝒐𝒕 𝒐𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒆 𝒊𝒕.

What a page turner for sure! If you love suspense but also want romance mixed in, this is the one for you! The heart pounding suspense will have you flipping the pages as fast as possible while the romance will have you wanting to slow down and savor the heartfelt moments between Noah and Meg.

After gold is found in the canyon, people are flocking to it hoping to strike it rich. But this isn't just a treasure hunt, it's dangerous and deadly, leaving Noah, Meg, and his crew constantly working to save treasure hunters before it's too late. Meg wasn't expecting this level of danger and finds herself questioning whether she can overcome her fears in the middle of all the chaos.

Noah has been falling for Meg for a while, but the timing never seems right and she needs him to help keep her grounded. As the threats continue and some of the rescues seem to put them in danger too, Noah and Meg have to work together to save others and themselves while learning to trust God if they want a chance at a future together.

This was wonderful! Between these two going back and forth with their feelings and the nonstop action around them, I was hooked! I cannot wait for Teague and Eden's story!

I gave this 4.5 stars, rounded up to 5.

Susan May Warren is bringing the heat in her new book In Too Deep, the second story in the Summer Rangers series! This is the PERFECT swoony beach read.

I loved the hurting heroes in this story. Dr. Meg thinks she's not good enough and can't see how many people she really helps. Noah is still grieving his lost family and trying to protect everyone else in his purview, but when gold fever collides with the Grand Canyon, good sense goes out the window and danger lurks. When you put these two together you have the absolute best pairing of real, hurting, wanna-help humans, and I love them together.

It wouldn't be a true Susan-May-Warren book without acknowledging the deeper lessons, because while the stakes are high, the suspense is thrilling, and the people are great, it's the lessons that I keep revisiting. What is my role as a person? How much can I do? How do I handle my fear? These are all questions we all have, and I love the way these are answered in this book.

So if dangerous settings, heroic leads, and dangerous villains are your favorite subject matter, you don't want to miss In Too Deep.

In Too Deep (Summer Rangers Book 2) takes action and adventure to a whole different level.

Meg and Noah are both very broken people. Meg suffers with crippling anxiety that sometimes leaves her paralyzed. As Meg says, “Anxiety and doctors aren’t a good mix.” Noah is consumed with grief and guilt over the loss of his wife and unborn daughter. He is afraid to lets himself love anybody for fear that he’ll lose them.

As summer in the Grand Canyon heats up, the Canyon is overrun with treasure hunters looking for gold. In addition to the inherent dangers the canyon and its weather pose, the Rangers must also deal with an increase in violent actions among the crowds gathering to look for the treasure.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Meg and Noah had to overcome their brokenness to make their relationship work. The pair also needed to learn to rely on God and His goodness. The action and adventure in this book had me glued to the pages and in one case holding my breath.

I would highly recommend this extremely well written book.

If you love Christian romantic suspense and the outdoors, you do not want to miss this series. In Too Deep is the second book in the Summer Rangers series by Susan May Warren and Taris Faris. I could not put this story down.

After the gold was found in the Grand Canyon in the last book, the park has become chaotic, with everyone trying to find one of the two remaining treasures. The story starts with Noah and Dr. Meg on a rescue after a cave collapses. This is not a clean-cut rescue. When Meg is trying to stabilize the girl, the internal trauma is too much, and the girl dies. This chaos has a domino effect.

Dr. Meg is dealing with her past trauma and how the onset of these medical rescues is causing her panic attacks to be more frequent. Not knowing if she can continue as a doctor or if she should work in a lab. Noah is grieving the loss of his wife and daughter with the guilt of feeling like it’s his fault. He must learn to let go of control and lean into God. Together, they are working through their past traumas.

The only way to shut down this treasure hunt for the Roosevelt gold is for the park rangers to find it. When they think they saw the chest in the cave that they did the rescue in, the rangers go back to check it out. With the aftershocks and the bad weather, it is a risky task. When another call comes in that a group is stuck in that same cave, they return to rescue the group, but it turns into a trap.

The romance was the perfect slow burn with kisses only.

Susan May Warren and Tari Faris did a great job intertwining faith elements throughout the story.

What can I say to start off? This is such an a beautiful romantic suspense by some of my favorite authors. I read book one and just knew that Meg & Noah would find their HEA. It was a rough and bumpy ride to get there. With Meg’s panic attacks stemming from her childhood traumas & Noah’s losses they would struggle to find peace individually and together. There was a lot of push and pull in their way. I loved the beauty of God’s forgiveness, His presence, His grace all wrapped up in this but not a perfect bow, it was messy and broken but beautiful. Meg had a lot to work through the whole book process and I loved just seeing her changes and redemption. Noah, he has a heart of gold and of course a little reckless with his own life. I flew through this book because it was just that good. I will be picking up this series again once I get through book 3. Which I cannot wait for the next in the series even if it is the ending, I’ll be sad but happy I got the chance to read it.

Noah and Meg - heroes with broken pasts, trapped in their cycle of grief. Noah's struggles with the death of his wife and unborn baby were raw and heart-breaking. Meg's panic attacks and insecurity in her worth as a doctor and as a person were haunting and equally as heart-breaking. The suspense in this book was on a smaller scale than in the previous book. The hunt for Alan Martin is put on hold in this book as Noah and Meg, with help from Liam and Teague, rescue injured gold hunters who descend on the North Rim of Grand Canyon in search of the other two gold chests left there by a Roosevelt. There was a decent amount of medical drama and emergencies, as well as climbing cave and canyon walls.
I loved seeing Liam who seemed to be lighter but also more focused. We didn't see Nimue in this book but I'm hoping we'll see more of her in the future. Noah and Meg had a difficult journey where they needed to find forgiveness and healing first before realizing that they can love each other. I'm looking forward to Teague and Eden's story next - it promises to be a good one.

Action-packed romantic suspense! With a setting at the North Rim of the Grand Canyon, the book atmosphere is rugged and stunning. Meg is the medical doctor on site for field emergencies as well as for park visitors. She’s experienced traumatic events in her past that have resulted in her struggling with pretty severe anxiety. She doesn’t know if she’s cut out to work in emergency situations, especially now that those occurrences have increased in number and danger. Noah is working through his own personal trauma, that of losing his wife years ago. He is overprotective and controlling and desperately afraid of losing another person he loves. As Meg and Noah face life threatening situations together, their feelings grow stronger and they become more sure that the only way forward is to rely on God. Beautifully written with inspiring and faith promoting discussions. Certainly a page-turner that keeps you riveted to the very last page! Looking forward to the next book in the series.

This is the second book in the Summer Rangers series by Warren and Faris. You do not have to have read the first book – Over the Edge - but if you get the opportunity, it sets the stage for you with most of the main characters you’ll meet in this one.

I got sucked into the story right away, and agonized with Meg and Noah as they both feel like they’re not enough, too broken for anyone to love. There are some great insights on trust, love, and letting God use brokenness to bring beauty.

I also enjoyed the location. I’ve never gotten to go to the north rim of the Grand Canyon, but have been to the south rim enough times to appreciate the basics of this awesome part of God’s world.

One word of caution- there are parts of this book you don’t want to read just before you go to bed. I solved that problem by staying up until midnight to get the characters out of a cave!

In Too Deep by Tari Faris and Susan May Warren is described as a romantic suspense novel. However, I describe it as an adventure novel. Plenty of moments stuck in the cave tunnels in the National Park. Plenty of death-defying moments where readers will not know if the characters will survive and get out. Readers will love how much description is used to really show in the reader’s imagination what is going on. This was handled very well. It played like a movie across my mind while reading. There is a mystery whispering about in the background, but it really was never front and center. Also, romance is pretty obvious, and readers have seen this pattern before in other romance novels. Overall, In Too Deep by Tari Faris and Susan May Warren is a wonderful adventure novel that will have readers glued to the pages and keep flipping late into the night.

Treasure hunting fever at Grand Canyon National Park continues! After one of the hidden treasure boxes is found, there are still two more up for grabs. Crowds descend on the park, breaking rules and getting into tussles.

Ranger Noah Wilde and doctor Meg Lewis are living out careers in ways they didn't sign up for. Sparks between them are clear, but both are resistant due to perceived barriers. Noah believes he doesn't deserve hope after losing his wife and unborn child years ago. Meg has panic attacks leaving her with a "less than perfect" performance with patients.

When Noah and Meg get into crisis situations, how will they react and will they realize their love is worth fighting for.

Can't wait for the conclusion to the series!

My gratitude to Sunrise for a complimentary copy of the novel. I was not required to post a review and all opinions expressed are my own.

This story is intense! The life of these rangers is especially challenging this summer as so many are coming to find Roosevelt's gold.

The story centers on Noah and Meg. Unfortunately, Noah thinks that he is the only one who can handle the dangerous situations which leads him to some pretty precarious circumstances. Dr. Meg is still battling the anxiety and fear throughout the story which causes some problems.

I really enjoyed Meg's mom in the story. She wasn't a main character but her love and advice was so on point.

I enjoyed the frequent Biblical references to the light shining in the darkness.
