An Inheritance is one thing, but what about when it isn’t jewels or money? What if it comes with a talking cat and a book/coffee shop that holds magic at its core? What if, even worse, you become both the keeper and the key to the entire town’s magic? Yeah, that’s more than most would bargain for, but Zenia is tossed unceremoniously into a whole new world that she must decide if she wants to belong to. Too bad the town of Whimsy Hollow won’t stop challenging her long enough to let her make up her mind.

The action scenes felt repetitive. The story was sweet, I liked it. I did feel sort of let down that the author didn’t wrap up all the loose ends. We began with a book be hidden and for someone to find it.. But did I miss something? Did she find the book? Anyway, it felt as if the villain just dissolved. If this is a series, we should have had an incline that he or even something worse might return! Not enough conflict for me. Just kept getting better and better then it was over. I am happy to have read this, as it gives me reason to pause and contemplate my own plots, motivation and conflict. Should be more of a rollercoaster ride. Especially in this genre. This person who wrote it, is a sweetly, I enjoy her writing on Substack and agreed to do a review. I hope she continues to write for she shows promise and is talented.
