The summer was only the beginning.

Alatheia Winder survived the Hamptons. Somehow.
She has a new home, four fiercely protective boys who would burn down the world for her, and secrets layered so deep not even she knows where they end.

But as the leaves turn in Manhattan and the elite return to Pullman School for a glittering fall semester, it becomes the past refuses to stay buried. Rumors swirl. Shadows stalk. And behind every whispered warning is the same question—

What really happened to make her mother run?

In a city built on reinvention, Alatheia is learning that freedom has a cost—and love doesn’t always come with safety. The Lents are hiding something. Her aunt is hunting her. And the truth might be the most dangerous thing of all.

A new season. A new city. And a girl who won’t stop until she finds the truth—even if she shouldn’t.

School has started and fall is starting to hit. The relationships between MC and her guys continues to develop. We get some answers that lead to a lot more questions. I was easily hooked with book two. It does end on a cliffhanger. I am interested to see where the story goes next.

Families + Secrets make for one AWESOME tale ✨

I haven't loved a series *this* much in... well I honestly can't remember how long. Dive in to family secrets galore, loads of intrigue, past traumas, a wee bit of shadowy danger, romance, and one absolutely AMAZING girl unknowingly in the middle of everything! Alatheia and her guys truly draw the reader in right from the start. She is so resilient, kind, strong, creative, and determined... perfect for the Lent brothers. She and the guys have all been touched by tragedy and pain. They understand one another like no one has before.

There is oh so much going on in this one. Verrrrry slowly the secrets begin to reveal teensy weensy hints here and there. Family secrets are the name of the game in this book as they will touch most of our characters in powerful ways. After this heartbreaking cliffhanger, I am desperate to see what happens next. I can't wait to see what "family" is defined as in the next book, and who they may become. The betrayals, secrets and tragedies have touched numerous characters and families in this book. How they all react, and what they'll do next will be very telling. This secretive world will definitely keep you coming back for more. I highly recommend checking it out.

I happily dived back into the lives of Alaithea and the Lent family, I love Alatheia, and really want to see where the relationships go with the Lents, but I’m also super intrigued about her mother!
Great characters who you love and can relate to, a nice slow burn romance along with mysterious secrets to be uncovered who could ask for more?
I very much enjoyed this part of the story, I am very eager to dive back in to the next book, the skeletons in the closet are still rattling around and I want more answers…

Brilliant read.
Alatheia is finally living a life, one that is not in shadows or hidden away. She has supported and loved. But still her life is not her own. She is still learning who she is and how she can be. Many are against her still with no reasonable cause and she is trying her hardest to find out why. But even those who are trying to be her friend are not always who they seem.
Brilliant read.
Cannot wait for the next,

Rebecca Royce continues the story of Alathiea and her growing connection with Dina and the Lent boys. The world she is weaving is rife with drama written with a Great Gatsby flair. She provides descriptive settings that make you feel as if you are seeing the world through the characters eyes. Almost like you are right there in the book with her. While the book does end on a cliff hanger, it leaves you wanting more in the best ways. I can’t wait to continue it’s the series!

Settling into life with the Lent brothers is idealic. Alethia is loved, cared for, really beginning to feel like she belongs. But just beyond sight, the PI is there, watching, recording, taking photos. And she has stability, friends for the 1st time. But it always feels too good to be true, like the other shoe is going to drop....and that cliffy! Wow! Kudos Rebecca Royce! You've done it again...another one i couldn't put down...

Still Compelling.

A gripping addition to the series. Still savoring instead of devouring, but I still finished quicker than I was expecting. I cannot wait for more answers, especially about a certain someone (whom I will not name to avoid spoilers). Excellent series so far.

Family secrets, hidden lives, past trauma, and present danger. Summer is over, and fall is upon Alatheia and the Lent Brothers. The leaves are changing, sweater weather has arrived, and it's time to return to school. Alatheia is certain the brothers will soon be done with her despite their efforts to prove she is their forever. After all, nothing lasts.

Can a story I'm reading for the first time create a sense of nostalgia? Even though this is a contemporary story, I feel as though I am stepping back into a different space and time. Everything feels grander. The characters are bigger. The situations more imposing. There's a feeling of luxury, of decadence. It inspires my imagination. I love the balance between the everyday and the sensationally dramatic. Summer may have been glittery and fresh, but Autumn brought a sense of comfort, warmth, and familiarity. Unfortunately, that's not all. The hint of frost is in the air - danger, rot. Looking into the past for answers has brought more questions. Some secrets can be deadly. People will go to great lengths to protect reputations and fortunes. And power is the ultimate currency among the wealthy. Alatheia is about to find out that her family specialty is betrayal. They are desperate, and she will be the next to pay the price if they have any say. But Alatheia has found family - the Lent brothers, and they won't just let her go. I have a feeling she has a powerful ally as well. I have suspicions about a hidden relation and can't wait to see if I'm correct. This is a brilliant read, and I desperately need more.

Dahlias

Book two of series, ( probably a long one). This book continues to describe Alathea's new life with the boys. It is slow and easy, but information eeks out so slowly it's frustrating. I have my own theories about her heritage, especially about her father not just her mother. Anyway this story is paced like Ghostbird, but at least she turns 17 in this one. Of course when all is going ok, the cliffhanger smashes everything, so I'm on to the next since it's available.
