They were never supposed to meet. But one night changed everything.
India Martel is barely keeping it together, running on fumes, sleeping in her car, and still showing up for class like her world isn’t crumbling. One late-night ride-share to cover her bills puts her face-to-face with danger she never saw coming. Now she’s caught up in a mess that could cost her everything.
Jasiel Vaughn was a star athlete once, with a full-ride scholarship and dreams of going pro. But one injury changed everything, cutting his future short and forcing him to grow up fast. With no backup plan and a little sister who needs him, Jasiel does what he has to do even when it means crossing lines he swore he’d never touch.
Their worlds collide in a moment of chaos neither of them saw coming. What starts as a desperate escape becomes something deeper, two broken paths merging into one.
But with every mile, the danger grows, and the line between survival and surrender starts to blur. Because falling in love on the run? That was never supposed to happen. Now they’re not just fighting to stay free… they’re fighting for each other.
I’m legit punching the air over the ending of this book! What happens when you’re a unhoused struggling college student with aspirations to be a nurse, and working to make ends meet when suddenly you’re on the run on some Bonnie & Clyde type of stuff. 😏A Ride to Remember was an easy read; it was entertaining, and a lot happened over a quick course of days it seemed. My heart went out for both characters, in a strange way they both had a lot in common - struggling, rough upbringing, trying to better themselves, etc. I did like Jasiel and the way he took charge over the situation, but India held her own too. Can’t wait for the next book!
Great debut!! I was hooked from page one. It was giving Queen & Slim meets Bonnie & Clyde! I loved every moment of it! Ends with a cliffhanger…. I’ll be back for book two!
DNF @ 17%. I wanted to like this so bad but this needs a lot of work. This book has a major comma problem. Every sentence doesn’t need multiple commas or even a comma.
I saw the author on TikTok promoting her book ( this book), this is the first book I read from this author. Picture this….
You and your cousin go to a pool party and while at this party you see this fine ass man checking you out. While on the dance floor vibing to Chris Brown’s Under the influence. Then all of sudden, you feel someone slide their hand around your waist. You look up and see that it is him. The both of you and slow grinding to the song. When a phone call ruins the moment. So you join your cousin back at the bar. You see Mr. Damn he is fine is now talking to some girl. Now in your feelings, you are ready to go. Before you embarrass the ancestors by showing your ass. So y’all leave and as you are heading to the elevator. You hear, hold the elevator. It was him, but you let the elevator doors close in his face. Little did India know she would see him again.
🔥 What I Loved: • The electric connection between the main characters. • The mix of passion, suspense, and intensity. • The writing style — bold, smooth, and unforgettable.
💋 Final Takeaway: If you love romance with an edge and a little thrill, A Ride to Remember is definitely one to check out.
Now not to spoil it , but I knew who was the snake and when it was revealed. I was right. I need book 2…
I really enjoyed this story. This was like romantic suspense and second chance. Jasiel and India are both trying to survive and make the best of their circumstances. They meet once and have a moment. Their second encounter was a mix of right place wrong time and maybe fate. The storyline was engaging. It flowed really well. The author did a really good job at balancing the character development and the suspense. It does end on a cliff hanger. I am invested in seeing how things turn out for India and Jasiel.
This is just a debut novella and when I say so good. It does end with a cliffhanger but the way she included how life was for the both of them and how quick life can change in the blink of an eye. They carried trauma in life differently but the end goal was surviving. One wrong move and they are on the run. The build up and suspense from beginning to end was chef kiss. I can’t wait for part 2 to come. Ari and Nasir yeahhh I seen how you threw them in there like that.
I’m glad I read this one because it was totally different from what I’m use to reading. India is a rider because I’m telling you now I’m not going down with no man especially one I don’t know like that. I felt like they both were in a spot where they were forced to do things they didn’t want to because they both had goals. India was just trying to survive and finish nursing school and Jasiel was hustling so the system wouldn’t take his sister. I knew Malik was a snitch by the way he was talking to Jasiel. I hope book two is just as good.
This was a great first book. The storyline flowed and kept me at the edge of my seat. I blindly went into this book after seeing it on social media and did not know what to expect. There was suspense, romance, spice, & I found myself becoming emotional. The plot was plotting and these characters were going through it. I loved the way Jasiel loved on his little sister and the way he cares for India. The way I was not prepared for the ending! I can't wait to read more from this author.
India Martel and Jasiel Vaughn two opposite are on this Saigon’s rode together and are different and not sure what things lie. They have to relive on each other when they on the run from the cops and his little sister is with them .It was cool reading how their love story was told and how perfect strangers come together and would help each other get through the hard things and getting away from the law . 10/10 would recommend u read .
This book was really good. It pulled me into the story immediately. As I was reading I felt the number of pages would not support wrapping up the story in one book. I am not a fan of cliffhangers. It would have been nice to know that before starting the book. With that being said, I certainly hope the next part is released in a timely manner. I am anxious to see what happens next with Jasiel and India.
Okay! So ! I was wrapped up in this Bonnie and Clyde situation.
The story or India and Jasiel was one for the record books. This was a whirlwind of action and drama. They were on the run and falling in lust and love at the same time. I enjoyed tapping into their world and their personal struggles.
I knew from the jump who couldn’t be trusted and can’t wait for the follow up !

“I don’t care if we’re on the run, baby as long as I’m next you, youuuuuuu🗣️” is what this book gave. Got this during BRAE 2025 and wow, as soon as part 2 comes out I will be purchasing both physical copies. India & Jasiel, whew! This book had my anxiety on 100, this was my first book with this plot and I’ve read almost 270 books this year. Brava Nevaeh Jayne!!!
Very well written book. Enjoyed that the characters weren’t like any other characters I’ve read. The character development was great and the storyline was quick but understandable.
This book started off on go. I had hoped Jasiel and India to meet up again after the first encounter. Boy did they! It was a good read I didn’t see that it was a series.
I had a good time! Kinda upset I wasn't aware that it is only book 1 of an unfinished series! - I really wanted to know what the rest of the story entails! Has got a huge element of insta love but you can feel chemistry and the fact that the love story does not take away from the plot in the book!
This book had me on my toes racing against time with Jasiel and India. Two people already going through so much individually and now have the world against them. I cannot wait until the second book comes out!
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I didn't know this was Ms. Neveah's debut! She did good, left us on a cliffhanger, but that's ok! I'm ready for part 2! I need answers!
I AMMM IRRITATEDDDDD WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYY WOULD SHE END THE BOOK LIKE THAT 💔 this book would’ve been such a 5 star read 😒 But ig I’ll be back for book 2🙂↕️

I am so glad the author took her time with this story and really introduced the characters!! She cut us off at just the right point!! I cant wait to see how this plays out!
4.5 stars! Really good debut I got during #BRAE! I need part 2 to tie up the loose ends
Are we getting Nasir and Ari’s book soon? 👀 Felt like they could bond over taking down the snakes and rescuing India and Jasiel
👍🏾 - well-written—action sequences, backstory, love scenes - motivations for characters were believable - wonder how India’s dad and Brayden will further play out in the story
