Six athletes are about to find love this Christmas at the Mynt Peak Resort....
US National Figure Skating Champion Chloe Reynolds arrives at the picturesque Mynt Peak Resort for a charity event. Love? It’s definitely not on her radar. After all, Chloe’s track record with romance is… nonexistent. Over the years, she’s learned that the only person she can truly count on is herself.
Still, a tiny, hopeful part of her secretly wonders if she might catch a glimpse of Drew Sullivan, her best friend Emma's older brother and the subject of her unrequited crush. He’s never noticed her, and frankly, it’s probably for the best.
Drew Sullivan is trying to get back on his feet. Laid off from his marketing job and living at home, he's hit an all time low as the delivery guy for his parent’s floral shop. When he finds himself fixing an aquarium at Mynt Peak Resort as a favor to his sister (and a certain suspiciously floaty fish), the last person he expects to literally come crashing into him around the corner is Chloe.
She's still the talented skater he remembers—smart, breathtakingly beautiful, and utterly out of his league. But when he receives an unexpected invitation to spend some time with Chloe enjoying some tasty peppermint hot chocolates, and a little playful interference from Emma, sparks begin to fly.
Could this be the beginning of a holiday romance neither of them saw coming?
This is a multi-author series about six athletes who find love the week before Christmas. If you enjoy closed-door, small-town holiday rom-coms, this series is for you. Make sure to read them all!
I thought this novella was so adorable! I really loved seeing Chloe and Drew come together and support each other. I sympathized with Chloe. She was dealing with a lot of imposter syndrome, and she also had been alone a lot of her life. I really loved her relationship with Emma and how they cared for one another. I need Emma to have her own book! But it was sweet to see how Drew came in the picture and really showed up for Chloe as well. But at the same time, Chloe had to learn confidence in herself and being okay with who she was. I thought Drew was really sweet! He was not where he wanted to be in life, and he was trying to work through that. I liked getting to see him flourish. Even though his romance with Chloe was fast, I felt like it fit both of the characters. They had always liked each other, but they needed this push with some Christmas magic to truly see each other. This was a quick and cute read that I would totally recommend! I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from the author. All views expressed are only my honest opinion, I was not required to write a positive review.
I super enjoyed this quick read of best friends brother, professional skater, friends to more book. The setup for this multi author series about professional athletes is well done and I'm looking forward to reading the others in this series of standalones. Check this out asap!

-Jingle Blades, the first delight quick-read story within, The Peppermint PlayBook Series! I thoroughly enjoyed the re-meet fishy disaster, and the second chance romance within. I adored the twinkling holiday vibes, fun festive activities, and the sweet and tender romance along the way. Most of all, I loved watching dear characters not only be able to find their way, their belonging but, also along the way, help support each other, to realize, and chase after their dear dreams. Seeing them find and be confident and watch their self-confidence bloom was heartwarming. This was my first story read by this author, and it won’t be the last. Jungle Blades, is simply a quick but fun filled, holiday sprinkled infused with sports (in this case, figure skating), and sweet romance story worth the read!🙌🏻
“This is what happiness looks like. Not just the big wins, but the quiet moments-shared meals, teasing, and easy laughter.”
•Content: no language, no violence, feelings of imposter syndrome/not measuring up/being overlooked, some strained family relationship, kisses only.
“You do belong here. Don’t sell yourself short.”

“You two have officially crossed into Hallmark movie territory.”
Finally Getting the Happiness they Craved - As the only person close to Chloe was her best friend, she kept her crush on her best friend’s brother hidden, so she doesn’t lose her friendship. Drew had been feeling lost since his return home, but bumping into Chloe seemed to give him a jolt he couldn’t explain. However, Drew never expected his young sister would take it upon herself to play matchmaker between him and Chloe, but he knew he had to take it slow when pursuing her.
Drew and Chloe spent time getting to know each other and he also took the time to be supportive when she needed a shoulder. Unfortunately, Chloe’s past relationship and family dynamics made her hesitant to agree to Drew’s pursuit, but he subsequently managed to coax her into a relationship. Unfortunately, an incident occurred that nearly cost Drew and Chloe their relationship, but his sister stepped in to save the day and got them back on track towards the future they deserved.
This heartfelt romance story about finally letting go of the past to be able to get the love and happiness deserved was a really pleasurable read. The captivating storyline was filled with a bit of drama, some really sweet moments and wonderful characters, that made sure the reader had a wonderful reading experience.
I received an advanced review copy of this book and I am voluntarily leaving a review.
I was completely charmed by this sweet holiday novella! It's my first book by this author, and I'm eager to read her backlist. She crafted this story with such delightful warmth and genuine relationships.
At the heart of the story is Chloe, who struggles with a tough case of imposter syndrome and a fear of being forgotten. Then there's Drew, a total 'walking green flag.' After a career setback, he's back at his family's business, plotting his next move. His life takes a delightfully unexpected turn the moment his sister's best friend quite literally runs into him.
What truly stood out was how authentically Drew and Chloe communicated their feelings. Even when Chloe was understandably overwhelmed and feared the past repeating itself, she showed immense strength by allowing Drew to explain himself instead of retreating. For anyone who has ever wrestled with overthinking a relationship or been paralyzed by self-doubt, this story offers a beautiful reminder to give yourself grace and simply allow others to love you. What a powerful and important message to find in a sweet holiday romance!
Read this for a tender, heartfelt, holiday romance! It’s clean, sweet, and perfect for absolutely everyone.
Thank you to the author for my gifted copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
What a fun start to the Peppermint Playbook novella series! Each book in this multi-author series features an athlete (from various sports) finding love in the week before Christmas... and up first we have Chloe- a figure skater finding love with her best friend's older brother. Their reuniting got off to a messy start, but I couldn't help but love the chemistry between these two! It was really sweet, and I really enjoyed seeing those glimpses of their history as well. Best friend's brother happens to be a favorite trope of mine, and I especially love stories like this one where the best friend not only supports the relationship but even offers a little matchmaking to help it along too (as was my own experience in real life)! Their story was fun and filled with just the right amount of holiday cheer. It's a quick read and one that truly is perfect for the busy holiday season! If you enjoy sports romance and festive reads, this a cute series you'll want to add to your holiday TBR.
Jingle Blades is a closed-door romance with kisses only and no language. It is the first book in the multi-author Peppermint Playbook holiday sports novella series.

This is a sweet, clean Christmas romance with a best friend's brother trope. Also a little second chance since they each had a bit of a crush previously but didn't act on it. And both of them had some insecurities to work through. Honestly, it could be made into a Christmas movie. It is a feel-good, light story. It is also a quick read, easily read in an evening. So curl up by the fire with a cup of cocoa and enjoy....
This is the first book I’ve read by Tomi Tabb, but it won’t be my last. This story drew me in from the beginning with the unusual storyline and characters…at least for me. Chloe is an ice skater and has recently won the US National Figure Skating title. Chloe has been financially independent since she turned eighteen. Her parents are wealthy and don’t have much contact with her. I can’t wrap my head around a life where I am basically alone. Professional athletes train for hours daily. Competitions are tough and you must always be on your A game. Emma has been her best friend since they met and became roommates as freshmen at Fresno State. Emma’s parents own the local florist shop. They supply “all the flowers, gift baskets, and a few other special amenities for the resort.” Emma has an older brother, Drew, who Chloe has had a secret crush on for quite some time. The company was working for filed for bankruptcy and he’s working at his parents’ shop part-time until he decides what kind of job he’d like and where he would like to live. Drew delivers a plethora of arrangements to Mynt Peak Resort and will deliver the boughs of holly the next morning. His mom was busy spraying them with sealant and will need to dry overnight. Before he leaves, Emma asks him to look at the aquarium near the gift shop. One of the guests asked for it to be checked out due to the condition of the tank. Now, this was no small tank, it’s a “fifty-gallon tank and looks like a toddler went wild with green finger paint.” As he investigates the aquarium, he sees that everything in it is covered with algae and the fish do not look active. Drew is in his element trying his best to get things cleaned up in the tank. He has a big bucket of water holding the fish, the algae, and a few other items. As he picks it up, “someone comes barreling around the corner at full speed and slams straight into me.” Everything in the bucket splashes up and all over Drew. Chloe was running late and didn’t see him and knocked against him. Drew is covered from head to toe with water dripping and muck from the aquarium all over him. Chloe freezes up when she realizes it’s Drew. As she’s trying to apologize and get out as quickly as possible, Drew recognizes her. His face changes and he even smiles. As if skating competitions, training, trying to decide what you want to do with your life, uninvolved parents, a meddling best friend/sister to the guy Chloe has a crush on isn’t enough, what is? Could this meeting of Drew and Chloe be a spark for the two of them? Is it possible for Drew to feel the same way? What is in Drew’s future…he needs to find a job. Could Mynt Peak Resort be the place for him? How will Emma feel about a possible relationship between her best friend and her brother? This charming, sweet romance is a great start for the The Peppermint Playbook multi-author series.
Chloe Reynolds is the reigning United States figure skating champion. She, along with some other athletes, have been invited to a charity event being held at the ritzy Mynt Peak Resort. She is excited, but a little timid as well. All of the athletes at this event are at the top of their game (no pun intended), and she does not feel like she belongs. She definitely belongs, but her past insecurities are making her nervous.
Drew Sullivan is the brother of Chloe's best friend, Emma. Emma just so happens to be concierge at the resort and is delighted to see her best bud, Chloe. Chloe would love to see Drew, as she has crushed on him for many years, but she is not holding out much hope for a reunion with him. It just so happens Drew is actually back home after being laid off from his marketing job. He is helping his parents out.
Drew and Chloe run into each other, and I mean literally run into each other. This scene was classic and hilarious. Drew sees the woman before him and is a little speechless.
With a little matchmaking nudge from Emma and a little serendipity, Drew and Chloe may have a chance at love after all.
This book was wholly entertaining on so many levels with wonderful characters, classic Christmas scenery (think Hallmark worthy scenery) and a budding romance. A little plus for me was that I learned that someone can artistically design large aquariums. That was a little fun fact that I enjoyed learning more about.
Thank you to the author for this ARC. I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Jingle Blades is a sweet best friend’s brother and found family holiday romance.
Chloe is a National Champion figure skater who’s participating in some holiday charity events at the mega hotel where her best friend works.
Drew is Chloe’s best friend’s brother who has been back in town working in his family’s flower shop ever since he his company went under and had to lay off their staff.
Beck together for the holiday season Chloe and Drew confront the feelings that they’ve kept hidden since they first met.
Chloe struggles with letting people in as she fears no one will ever choose to show up for her. Her parents are absentee and multiple guys have let her down in the past. As she and Drew grow closer, she starts learning how to overcome that fear.
Drew feels like a failure after his job went under and he had to move back home, but living at home has given him opportunities that might just lead to the happiest version of his future.
Their relationship was sweet and it was nice to watch these two overcome their struggles as they formed their relationship.
Thank you to Tomi for including me on her ARC team! I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All opinions expressed are my own.
Chloe has just won the National Championship and has imposter syndrome and she really doesn’t feel like she fits into the winner’s circle. But, she really does and she just needed someone to encourage her and be there for her. Drew is such a thoughtful man who is sweet and also a good sport taking a lot of teasing from his sister, Emma. He is just the person that Chloe needed because he shows up and supports her desire to compete. I love their happy ending and hope that we get to see Emma have her own story too because she was a fantastic friend, sister, and maybe even a matchmaker. :)

Chloe and Drew are a great opening number for the new Peppermint Playbook Series.
I really enjoyed seeing Chloe work to overcome her self-doubt. Drew seemed a little lost and it was nice to see him find a new purpose and path as well. I loved seeing them work these issues out together as well. They had a funny re-meet cute and I loved that they were able to reconnect after a few years of not seeing each other.
Emma is the perfect scheming sister/best friend! She knows how perfect Chloe and Drew would be together, even if they don’t know it themselves.
I also appreciated getting a quick introduction to the resort, the event, and some of the other characters that may come into play in the rest of the series.
This cute best friend’s brother, forced proximity story was a great introduction to the Mynt Peak Resort and the “Mynt to Make a Difference” charity event. I can’t wait to see how the rest of the stories in this multi-author series play out.
I'm so excited for all of the books in this series! This first one is so great. It has such a cute love story. And it sets up the series so well.
This one is about Chloe. She's a champion figure skater. She heads to the Mynt Peak resort to help with a charity event. But she doesn't expect to find her best friend's brother, Drew, in town as well. I loved how these two were reintroduced. It definitely made me laugh out loud.
Drew is such a great guy! I loved the way he tries so hard to make Chloe feel loved and wanted, even though life has taught her that she really isn't. And, of course, we all make mistakes and mess up. But he also goes out of his way to make things right when he does mess up.
I enjoyed this behind the scenes peek into the world of sports' sponsorships. I was expecting the media promotionals for the sponsoring company, but I had not anticipated this kind of holiday charity event by the sponsor. I loved the growth and development of both the main characters. It took some exposure to the other athletes for Chloe to see that she deserved the accolades just as much as the orhers. Drew pulled inspiration from Chloe to reinvent his life and career into something that made him happy and excited to start work each day, doing something he loved.
I received a free advance copy of this story from the author via BookFunnel and voluntarily chose to share my review.
Delightfully sweet and it’s about athletes in the snow you know. Well the mountain peak is .Dont think the ice rink would fair too well with a dumping of snow but the figure skate blade can kick up a flurry on a full stop.Chloe Reynolds crushes on her best friend’s brother Drew Sullivan . He’s never looked at her twice . He’s been laid off from his marketing job so now he’s fallen low as can be delivery flowers from his mum and dad’s florist shop. He works hard though he’s in a strop. I think I knew where this was going and I dug my feet in deep in the snow flurries safe in the knowledge that the world was sweet . This closed door still leaves us in awe and it’s hot chocolaty goodness through and through. Pop out and read why don’t you . It’s by Tomi Tabb and it’s really fab.
A lovely story for the holiday season or anytime you need a little Christmas magic! It has family, an incredible figure skater, best friends, a dreamy love story, a main character who appreciates her success and enjoys all the people she meets along the way, longings, and so much happiness. I didn't understand the point of the bonus scene however. I know why authors give us bonus scenes obviously, and usually I love them. They offer confirmation that the characters are getting their HEA. But this one was anticlimactic... and I wished it contained new information instead of something we all figured about before the end of the book.
Figure skater Chloe Reynolds is focused on her career—not romance—but a snowy Christmas at Mynt Peak Resort has other plans. When she reconnects with Drew Sullivan, her best friend’s older brother and longtime crush, sparks fly in the most unexpected ways. With a little holiday magic, playful matchmaking, and shared history, Chloe and Drew’s romance is sweet, heartwarming, and perfectly festive.
I loved seeing Chloe work through imposter syndrome and gain confidence in herself, while Drew learned to embrace his worth and show up for her. Their chemistry, coupled with Emma’s matchmaking antics, made this quick novella such a fun, cozy holiday read. Closed-door, kisses only, no language—perfect for a festive read during the busy season!
A lovely story of and figure skater and her best friend's brother who have secretly liked each other for years and finally spend time together to explore their connection after she literally ran into Drew as he was cleaning a fish tank.
Emotional strings are pulled as you learn how often Chloe was forgotten or ignored in her past relationships. You will worry that Drew will do it, too, but he really does care for her. A sweet, heartwarming romance that will warm your heart and make you want to read more books by this author.
This is such a delightful story. Emma and Chloe are best friends; Drew is Emma’s brother. Drew and Chloe met years before and when they literally ran into each other again, it was not a cute meet-cute but very messy. It was heartbreaking how her parents were never there to support Chloe, it made her doubt herself. I loved how Emma and really Drew were there for her. They are so cute together, I loved all the festive activities, their sweet, caring, and swoony romance. A fabulous, fun quick read that I really enjoyed.
Y’all! This time of year, nothing relaxes me more than a good ol’ Christmas romcom. And this totally hit the spot! I loved the sweetness in almost every page. I love Chloe’s journey and how strong she is. Has she had struggles in the past? Absolutely. But I loved watching her grow stronger and stand up for herself. I also loved Drew! My goodness what a sweetheart. And seriously if y’all don’t have a best friend like Emma, you gotta get yourself one! Toni Tabb’s books are always so wholesome and cozy! I received an advanced copy.
Jingle Blades is a fun, clean, lighthearted, best friend's brother romance. I enjoyed every minute I spent with Drew and Chloe. It really made a splash when they connected at the resort! Chloe has dealt with a lot to earn her way to the top of her profession. Drew is adrift due to the bankruptcy of his employer. I love how he was home, working for his parents and, with Chloe and Emma's help, he lucked into his perfect job. I like how he supported Chloe. They make a cute couple and the romance does not seem rushed. This well written book is a great start to this series!
National ice-skating champion, Chloe, attends a promotional campaign in Winterbrook, the small hometown of her best friend, Emma. A literal collision with Emma’s brother, Drew, sets off a chain of events Chloe had always fantasised about, but never envisaged seeing it become real. A delightful holiday story, set in a winter wonderland, with loveable young adult characters experiencing romance and a happy ever after. This is my voluntary review of an ARC received from the author.
Drew Sullivan, Emma’s older brother, and Chloe Reynolds, Emma’s best friend, have each had secret crushes on the other for years. Now, circumstances have taken them both back to Mynt Peak, where Emma and Christmas magic work to bring them together. Simultaneously, she has fears of abandonment, while he has fears of inadequacy. Overall, this story is inviting and entertaining.
Favorite Quote: “He’s never looked at me as more than his little sister’s friend. But Christmas is around the corner, and who knows . . . if I find a little mistletoe, maybe I’ll be lucky enough to steal a kiss.”
This was such a fun and short Christmas romcom! The chemistry between Chloe and Drew was *chefs kiss* 😘! I loved Emma and her meddling matchmaker ways!😂 I finished this book in less than a day!
Thank you to the author for the advance copy, all thoughts are my own.
Very sweet Christmas Romance read. Chloe is a professional ice skater in town for some charity work. She’s always lacked confidence and doesn’t quite believe her current title as National Figure Skating Champion. Drew has returned home after losing his job and is now filling in at his parents florist business. Years ago, both thought each other uninterested and out of their league. Now Christmas magic - and Drew’s sister - and some mutual love for peppermint cocoa will bring them together.
