But when baseball’s golden boy walks into my locker room, the rules go out the window.
William Sinclair wants to keep his squeaky-clean image? Well, too bad. I like to play dirty.
He’s older and wiser. I’m younger and thirstier.
And if he thinks our game of war is over after the season?
He’s dead wrong.

As someone who went into a tiny slump after rewatching Heated Rivalry for the infinite time I needed something short, smutty and MM and this one HIT THE SPOT!
The story was so cute about the pitcher and catcher of the same team falling in love. The best part of all is that the pitcher (Sin) never been with a man until he met War and then everything changed. The spicy scenes were what I needed and the vulnerability behind what Sin was feeling about his sexuality was beautiful to see unfold! Kind of reminded me of Scott from the TV show lol.
I definitely recommend if you want something fast, MM and spiccyyyyyy.

The way I had to not only take MULTIPLE laps to cool off while reading this, but also cried??? FROM A NOVELLA?? 5 stars! Just absolutely incredible what the authors were able to accomplish in just under 200 pages.
• bi-awakening • age gap (10 years) • pitcher x catcher • rivals to lovers • baseball • open door spice • found family
I was nervous about how a bi awakening would play out in a novella, but this was just so well done. I loved the journey these two went on and the way the heavier, emotional moments were balanced so well with witty banter and swoony texts.
Can we have a virtual round of applause for that that bus scene?? 🥵 I am STILL unwell over it. Not only was the spice jaw dropping, pearl clutching, and so fitting with the bi-awakening journey, the TENSION & YEARNING was top tier. And the forbidden sneaking around? Perfect.
Thank you so much to Ginsa Michelle & Grayce Rian for the opportunity to arc read Sin & War! I cannot wait to see what this series brings 🤭.

CAUTION: my Goodreads shelves can be spoilerish in nature (microtropes) so look at your own risk.
I am legit foaming at the mouth for more from this series! Sin and War starts the San Diego Rays off in the most perfect way—with a novella that absolutely feels like a complete story and two characters who you’ll completely adore.
The banter between Sin and War is amazing, just like you’d expect from a rivals to lovers story. The bi-awakening storyline is so thoughtfully written, and I love the way these two love each other. The confusion, the lust, and the acceptance of feelings that are impossible to fight all come together to create the story.
You already see the little found family forming with the team, and I definitely know who I’m hoping for next!

Baseball, where the boys kiss? What more could you want?
This novella was sweet and spicy. A quick read but did not skip on the plot. And the set up for the next book has me wanting to read it like right NOW!
Sin and War were the perfect duo, once they got past their initial assumptions of each other that is. I enjoyed their rivalry in the beginning and how it morphed into truly being their for each other and the realistic confusion when lusting for someone you didn’t expect to want.
I loved the secret pitching signals and enjoyed that there were scenes of baseball actually being played. The description of what it’s like to be a catcher was spot on and made me miss being on the diamond as I too was a catcher and there’s no better feeling than commanding a field. Their chemistry as pitcher and catcher on the field was highlighted and that’s such an important aspect of the game, it was nice to read.
I really enjoyed this story and I’m thankful to the authors for giving me this eARC opportunity!
ARC Review ✨ First I would like to say a big thank you to Grayce for letting me be apart of this ARC Team! Rate: 5/5⭐️ Spice: 0.5/5🌶️
What to expect when reading Sin & War; -Novella -Baseball -Bi-Awakening -Found Family -Rivals x Lovers -Age Gap
This is book one of the San Diego Rays series. You get to follow Will and Brooks and let me tell you this was funny and hot and everything in between lol Even though this was a Novella (which I’m a sucker for) yea it was fast paced but the plot was still plotting lol Their personalities were sooooo enjoyable, which I feel can either make or break a novella. Watching them eval from their first impressions of each other to the ending was perfection and I know the rest of this series is going to get knocked out of the park (all puns intended lol)
Fav Quote: •”but if that’s what does it for you l, I can be your good boy” •”there’s no way anyone else could captivate my attention the way you have, pretty boy”

i loved this!! it was a pretty quick read, but also filled with a lot of plot! i’m such a big fan of grayce and i was so excited when she announced she was co-writing an mm baseball book; i knew i HAD to read it!! ginsa is a new to me author but after this, i’m so excited to check out her other books!
i truly ate up brooks and will’s story! they had SO much chemistry; brooks and will were THE duo!!! their opposite personalities made their relationship fun and i really enjoyed getting to be part of it!!
i also loved that even though this was a novella, it didn’t feel super rushed like some do. we were able to get will’s coming out (and brooks being there for him) in a way that felt real and authentic and not looked over like it could’ve been
i’m really excited to see what comes next! i know it’s gonna be good!!
The way I devoured this book and was left wanting so much more! Ginsa and Grayce are two of my favorite authors so when I found out they were co-writing a new series, I couldn’t wait to have it in my hands. The tension and the yearning between these two was so hot. The banter had me laughing out loud. Their rivalry was quite entertaining and watching it morph into more was even better. While Brooks (War) is open and out about his sexuality, Will (Sin) is still figuring it out and coming to terms with his. We see him go through a lot of confusion and questioning on why he’s feeling the way he is towards another man; as this is entirely new territory for him. War is so sweet and so patient and never pushes Sin more than he’s comfortable with. Pushing him justtttt enough for him to truly come to terms with his feelings. The conversation with Will’s dad had me tearing up. And I loved their pitching signals and compatibility on the field. I loved watching these two grow together and seeing Will finally find the love and acceptance and companionship he’s always deserved.
Thank you so much to Grayce and Ginsa for an early ARC. I cannot wait for the rest of this series.
read if you love: MM romance, baseball, age gap (10 years), bi-awakening, rivals to lovers, catcher and pitcher
Did I basically inhale this book? I sure did. In one damn sitting. I loved the bi-awakening journey for Sin and the way that War was so patient and never pushed Sin into more than he was ready for. The way I had to fan myself off multiple times. Excuse me, that bus scene? Good. Lord. Their connection right from the beginning. The yearning, the tension. These two were seriously perfection. Then we have the hilarious texting banter. I was cackling at their fictional character conversation. Also the whole baseball clan, War’s adorable family. I also may have cried at one point.
Do yourself a favor and please pick this up! This book was something else that I’m dying for more of. I can’t wait for what’s to come!
Thank you Grayce & Ginsa for this ARC.
𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁: ❤️ mm romance ⚾️ bi-awakening ❤️ age gap (10 years) ⚾️ rivals to lovers ❤️ pitcher x catcher
PERFECT novella for some delicious spice and sexy baseball players and I devoured this! But not only was this spicy and hot, but also so sweet and a little emotional too. It was exactly what I needed and the perfect combo of everything for being a novella!
Read if you enjoy: age gap, pitcher x catcher, bi-awakening, rivals to lovers, found family, forced proximity
This novella was full of spice, banter, & plot. William & Brooks were so freaking hot and I am in love with them. The chemistry between them along with the playful banter had me so giddy. The secret pitching signals had me kicking my feet like a school girl!
Sin & War had the perfect amount of relationship development along with scenes focusing around baseball as well. The found family within the team was perfection. I am SOOOOO excited for the next book, because the little Easter eggs dropped have me wanting to beg for a sneak peak 😂
There wasn’t a single crumb left from this book after I ate it up in a matter of hours.
Sin & War is the perfect Bi-awakening novella. These two were literally hot as sin, and I couldn’t get enough. They were uptight and bratty, but sweet in their own ways.
Brooks, War, was a bratty man. He knew exactly how to push the buttons of Sin, and make him understand what he wanted. He took him in strides and allowed him to discover everything in his own time. Pushed him when he needed it, but gave up control when he needed to let Sin have it all. I loved his mouthy remarks that he knew got under Sins skin to get him worked up, but kept him cool and collected on the field in the moment.
Sin, the older less experienced of the two was fight this battle of why he wanted Brooks the way he did. He allowed brooks to be there for him, and show him and lead him in the ways he was denying. The moment he truly gave into War is so beautifully written. I think this novella needs to be a whole book because they just had that instant hate/lust connection that every couple craves.
Two of my favorite indie authors came together to write this masterpiece and I don’t think I’ll ever be over these two. So perfect and so hot;🥵

Sin & War is the kind of baseball romance that grabs you by the jersey on page one and never lets go. It’s sharp, tender, explosively spicy, and somehow still manages to feel warm and intimate in all the moments that matter. Brooks “War” Warren and William “Sin” Sinclair step onto the page like a rivalry you already know is going to combust, but the beauty is watching it turn into something real, vulnerable, and breathtakingly honest. Together, they’re electric—blistering heat on the field, soft devotion off it.
What I loved most was how authentically this novella captures the rhythm of baseball and the emotional architecture of a bi-awakening storyline. The secret pitching signals. The tension behind the plate. The found family vibe forming in the Rays’ locker room. For such a fast read, the authors pack in an incredible amount of depth—real intimacy, real character growth, and real connection. It’s tender. It’s hot. It’s beautifully written.
Brooks and Will’s story feels like stepping onto the diamond under stadium lights—bright, hopeful, and absolutely alive. I adored every second of it. If this is only the first novella in the San Diego Rays series, then I’m clearing my schedule for baseball season because I need more of this team, this writing duo, and this world immediately.
I received an ARC copy and wanted to leave an honest review.
Well, this novella has become one of my favourites, if not my absolute favourite, of this year. There was so much packed in, it managed to still feel like a full novel in terms of how taken with the characters I was and how involved I got, and I didn’t feel that it was rushed in any way.
I practically inhaled this and was completely invested in seeing how the two rivals Brooks, ‘War’, and Will, ‘Sin’, turn into more. I got lost in them and their back and forths, very much appreciating War’s continuous ‘poking of the bear’ and his bratty comments, and Sin’s sharp retorts, while waiting for them to act on their obvious attraction.
I loved all the acceptance in this book, and especially towards Sin when he needed it most. He’s been lost for so long and trying to find his place, but War helps him heal and grow in a way that Sin didn’t know he needed, and I so enjoyed the scenes of him enjoying himself and opening himself up more and more. I was pleased that we weren’t skimped out of learning more details about his background either.
I adored seeing the mama’s boy side of War that goes with all his optimism, sarcasm and confidence. War surprised and impressed me as we learnt more about him, showing that there was much more to him that the judgemental twenty-odd year old he appears to be when we first meet him. As it turns out, he’s reliable and steadfast and exactly whom Sin needed to show who he can be when he lowers his walls.
I thought their spicy scenes were pretty darn hot too. Their first intimate encounter in a hotel room – phew!
I have to add how much I adored the supporting characters as well, family and teammates whose presence brought some additional encouragement and support to our two men.
This is the authors’ debut MM co-write and I’d say it was incredibly successful. I’d definitely be up for reading more from them.
Ginsa Michelle and Grayce Rian nailed it with Sin & War . And I was hooked on this story after reading the blurb . But that dedication send me straight to dream land . Because Sin &War is the sweet and swoony and at the same time steamiest MM romance that I've read this year. I loved all the angst and tension between Sin and War, and all the sweet and tender moments . The great chemistry between them from the start was of the charts and the banter was the best form of foreplay. Loved it that they constantly challenged each other and bettered themselves as players. Their relationship was fragile and tender and they worked to shelter it from the outside world and all the hostility. If War was confident and aware of who he is Sin never thought of himself in that way . Sin had a long journey ahead of him in understanding and accepting all those new emotions and things about himself. And War was there for him. Was a little sad for Sin when he compared their families. And was totally surprised of War's loud and supportive Greek family . And don't let me start on the moussaka making an appearance . Mmm ,yummy . When confronted by the press Sin totally breaks but War is there for him . And they totally made it to the other side of scandal. And Sin getting his family's support and understanding was priceless. And I have to say that I'm not a big fan of Sin's brother but I love War's sister big time. I loved that epilogue and that Sin and War got their happy ending. Also there's a lot to think about because there's a couple of possibilities who's the next couple in the series. Now that my review is finished I'm off to the kitchen to make myself a moussaka. Because sharing a border with Greece comes with a lot of shared national cuisine .
Thanks to both Ginsa Michelle and Grayce Rian for the opportunity to read and review an early copy of this book .
Sin & War by GINSA MICHELLE & GRAYCE RIAN Book 1 San Diego Rays
I ate this baseball novella up in just a few hours, I couldn’t stop once I started! It checks all the boxes…there’s banter, amazing chemistry from these rivals to lovers, and scorching spice! Sin & War is definitely a home run!!⚾️
William “Sin” Sinclair gets traded to the San Diego Rays, a notorious party team last in the rankings, and shows up determined to whip the team into shape, but instead he immediately gets on Brooks “War” Warren, the infuriatingly smug catcher, bad side. Of course, fate (and a very unhelpful team manager) decides they should spend even more time together...roommates on the road. And that’s when the hatred starts simmering... then turns into something a whole lot hotter than either of them planned.🔥🫠
What grows between Sin and War is raw,and completely consuming. They hold each other up through the hardest moments and never stop choosing one another. It’s seriously beautiful! War is unexpectedly tender and fiercely loyal, while Sin takes the time he needs to understand his sexuality and watching him discover who’s he truly is , stepping into himself, and accept the love he deserves despite the heartache and burdens of his past? Absolutely stunning.
The found family vibes on this team? Perfection. I’m already excited for the next book. That Thanksgiving dinner scene? It went from cozy to chaotic in seconds, and I loved every second of it. Definitely something’s brewing between War’s sister and his best friend and I’m here for it! 👀
And don’t even get me started on those secret pitching signals, ahhhh🥵 I need more. Immediately.
Thank you so much to Grayce & Ginsa for allowing me to take part in ARC reading Sin & War.
"You came crashing into my life and knocked me off my feet. You took me off guard when your heart collided with mine."
I was lucky to receive an ARC of Ginsa Michelle and Grayce Rian's newest book, Sin & War (a novella in the San Diego Rays Series). It follows the story of Brooks and Will.
I was nervous and excited to try something different from Ginsa Michelle and Grayce Rian. Their new co-written series kicks off with an MM romance.
This was my first time reading an MM romance, and it did not disappoint!
I could not put Sin & War down and lost myself in Brooks and Will's story.
It was the perfect blend of sweet and spicy with plenty of heart-warming moments.
The banter between them was everything! I loved how they pushed each other's buttons and riled each other up.
The chemistry and tension building between them was *chef’s kiss*, and the spicy scenes were hot as hell 🥵
I adored the found family aspect within the San Diego Rays team and how they all showed up to support Will at his family’s annual gala.
While this was not the usual kind of book I would go for, I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it!
I can not wait to read the next book in the San Diego Rays Series!
Thank you so much to Ginsa Michelle and Grayce Rian for this ARC ❤️
do you need a little short, sweet, and spicy novella in your life? the answer is yes obviously *nod your head like a good girl or boy* 🤭
well then, why don’t you take the edge off with Sin & War, our first peek into the new San Diego Rays series from @authorginsamichelle and @graycerianauthor 🙌🏼😉
this little nugget of MM gold is peak yearning, bi-awakening, let’s share a woman but really just want each other the whole time, let me be your good boy deliciousnesssssss 🙏🏼 OH OH and did i mention they’re not only teammates…oh boy nope THEY’RE THE PITCHER AND CATCHER 🤭
Sin has just been traded from his family’s baseball team (which…ouch that hurts) and his first meeting with War in the locker room is definitely filled with tension and irritation but also crackling with an undeniable attraction 🔥🔥
War might be younger, but he is so confident in his sexuality and is so patient with Sin as he navigates the unexpected bond between them. there’s banter, touching emotional moments, some stupid hot hookups (i will NEVER look at a charter bus the same🥵) and some adorableness like a secret pitching signal 🥹😍SQUEAL 💖💖
⚾️MM romance 🧢bi-awakening ⚾️rivals to lovers 🧢pitcher x catcher ⚾️age gap (10 years) 🧢forced proximity
it’s out today and available on KU! it might be a novella but there is so much packed into this story and i would have easily read 150 more pages!
"Eventually, Will’s gonna have to face reality and say the hard sh^t out loud."
Sin & War OR William & Brooks. First of all, round of applause and a standing ovation for the nicknames, Sin & War. Second, let's go boys! From the moment William/Will (Sin) arrived in the locker room, his image was locked and loaded in my brain. The way he had his hands on his hips as he spoke to his father, not looking at him, was singed into my memories. Brooks Greek heritage painted a picture no one could resist. The descriptions and development of these two was magical.
Brooks (War) making every feeling Will (Sin) is experiencing okay and natural is so good. Will's confusion and inner turmoil was so clear and War being the most patient person on the planet made this story so rewarding and my heart was just melting the entire time - I mean, in between the spice - which is like, whoa.
This is a novella so you can read it really quick and the payoff is really good. Can't wait for book 2. I feel like I've picked out a few characters that are going to get books, but what I think the next one is seems very very HOT.
I received this complimentary eARC and my review is voluntary. Thank you to the authors - keep them coming!
I devoured this hot little novella and left no crumbs. When two of your favorite authors write a book together, you neglect all other responsibilities and pick it up immediately.
This was such a great MM, bi awakening romance. William and Brooks are everything and their story is hot, but so damn sweet. When Willian (Sin) gets traded to a different team, he is bitter and not sure where his place is. Brooks (War), immediately takes notice of him and their back and forth is so good. That back and forth turns to sexual tension and the story just takes off from there.
War is so sweet and caring while Sin takes the time he needed to come to terms with his sexuality and it truly is beautiful to watch him grow and find the love he deserves.
This book is HOT, like extra HOT and it made me so excited for the rest of the series!

ARC REVIEW : Sin & War by Grayce Rian and Ginsa Michelle || Releasing 11.20.25
❤️MM Romance ⚾️Baseball Romance ❤️Bi-Awakening ⚾️Age Gap ❤️Rivals to Lovers ⚾️Pitcher & Catcher
This is the first book co-written by Grayce & Ginsa and I pray it is not their last. I absolutely DEVOURED William & Brooks’ story. It was executed so beautifully and really kept me wanting more.
William ‘Sin’ Sinclair is traded to the California team much to his dismay. While there, he’s determined to turn the team into winners. Unfortunately for him, he immediately clashes with Brooks ‘War’ Warren the catcher. Sin finds War utterly obnoxious and arrogant all while being forced to spend time together. Lines blur when the two become roommates on the road and they let their hate turn to passion.
The love that grows between the two MMC’s is beautiful and all-consuming. They are really there for each other during the difficult times and never stop fighting for their relationship.
This book was more than just a baseball romance. It touches on hard subjects and really opens your eyes to the difficulties those in the LGBTQIA+ community face.
Thank you so much to Grayce & Ginsa for allowing me to take part in ARC reading Sin & War.
This series is starting off with a bang! The San Diego Rays team has already become a team that I can’t to see more of in the future.
This couple is exactly what I needed with all of their banter and their progression to love. The bi-awakening aspect was written with a beautiful vulnerability and sensitivity that you could feel while reading. Sin had such thick walls up to protect himself that when War was able to get through you could feel the weight lifted off of him. I loved every second of reading about these two and their amazing found family in their teammates.
I already need more of this series and can’t wait to find out if my prediction for the next couple is correct 🤭
✨ARC Review✨ Sin and War By Gracye Rian and Ginsa Michelle
His aura drips with sin. And sin has never been so tempting.
“And then I called you daddy. You seem like the type of guy who likes women to call him Daddy. I bet you eat that shit up.”
“So the rumors are true? You’re . . . gay?” “No, I’m his,” I correct, causing both Lucy and Brooks to straighten in surprise.
Will and Brooks story is a fast paced, spicy novella. After attraction and sharing, these two teammates can’t deny it anymore. The only thing is while Brooks is open about his sexuality, Will is just learning about his. We get to see a peek into his journey or acceptance and letting Brooks love him, and it’s so hot!

Thank you so much for this arc from Ginsa and Grayce! As always possible spoilers.
This was seriously so freaking good. Not a crumb was left behind. I mean come on. Baseball? And they were boys? 💋💋💋 Some family drama?? Amazing story of acceptance and healing? Again. SAY LESS!!! If it weren’t for work I would’ve finished sooner.
I feel like the rivals to friends and lovers story line done so well with how the bi-awakening was incorporated as well. That’s never something to half ass, and they did amazing. The banter between not only Brooks and Will but also them and the teammates was perfect. I truly can not wait for more of this series!!
And holy freakin’ hotness, the way I devoured this novella (much the way these boys devoured each other 🤭❤️🔥🤌🏼)!!
Sin & War is a spicy MM, baseball novella that packs as much tension, banter and rivalry as it does heat 🔥 Brooks and Will’s friendship flourished and I loved the pages where they just learned everything about each other. Ginsa and Grayce have knocked it outta the park (takes bow ⚾️ 🙇♀️ 🤭) with this one and they’ve got me hooked on their new series!
Thank you so much for the ARC, girls - you smashed it! Book one of the San Diego Rays releases tomorrow in paperback and on KU!

A beautiful baseball novella…I am in awe of the character depth, honesty and emotions captured in this shorter story. Bi-awaking, M/M, rivals to teammates to lovers. Blake Warren (War), the young, arrogant and confident catcher of the San Diego Rays, helps Will Sinclair (Sin), the newly traded, older, reserved pitcher, find himself. The spice was steamy and the passion was hot. I am definitely looking forward to more in this series! 4.5 stars Thanks to the authors for the eARC.
Grayce and Ginsa did such a good job with this one!!
I loved the way they wrote Will’s character!! In such a short number of pages he grew so much while also staying true to himself!! He was a well rounded character!!
Brooks was just a man who knew what he wanted and was willing to play the long game to get him. He would push Will when he needed the push and be the steady presence at other times!!
The love in every page was evident! Such a good read!!
