She came home for her brother’s wedding. That wedding just happens to include her ex.
When Anne agreed to step in last-minute as maid of honor for her brother’s wedding, she expected some chaos but figured she could get in and out without too much emotional trauma. Just going back to her small hometown (the place she avoids like the plague) and seeing her childhood best friend and first love for the first time in seven years. What could possibly go wrong?
Jace was the boy down the street. The one who knew all her secrets, who shared all her firsts, and the guy who ghosted her nearly a decade ago with Olympic-level skill. Now he’s everywhere. At wedding events, family dinners, her brother’s restaurant…because, of course, he’s the best man.
Anne came for closure, but between all the awkward run-ins, painting shenanigans, and an inconvenient resurgence of feelings she definitely did not RSVP for, Anne finds herself Was she ever really over Jace? And is it possible that he never got over her, either?
With hearts on the line and history in the way, Anne must decide if this is closure... or a shiny new beginning.
A witty, emotional second-chance rom-com about messy families, missed opportunities, and all the romantic mayhem of coming home again.
Michelle, you did it!! 🥳 I had the honor to be a beta reader and ARC reader for this book. From thinking the story was cute and had great potential to all the way freakin' loving it?! I adoooore a good second chance romance and Michelle her debut did not disappoint🤩. The witty humor, the longing between Anne & Jace ... and tension are 🔥 Even the setting of the story all made it the perfect cozy read for this fall. Put it on your TBR asap or better yet buy it now 😉
When I picked up Kissing the Best Man…Again, I expected a sweet small town romance and what I got was a warm, beautifully written second chance love story that made me feel like I was right there in charming Saugatuck, Michigan with the characters. Michelle Baldoni created a story full of heart and hope.
The heroine returning to her roots and confronted by a past she thought she left behind is relatable and strong. The best man from her past who still sits heavy in her memories is not just a predictable foil. He is layered and genuinely remorseful, and that gives the story real emotional weight. Their chemistry feels natural, and the “again” in the title really means something here. The tension, the memories, and the quiet what if moments all come together in a way that made me root for them from the very start.
Here is what I especially loved: • The setting. Saugatuck feels like a character itself, the kind of place where you can practically smell the lake breeze and feel that small town warmth. • The emotional journey. It is not just about whether they will end up together. It is about forgiveness, personal growth, and the courage it takes to risk your heart again. • The romance. It hits that sweet spot between comfort and tension. I smiled more than once, my heart did that warm flutter thing, and there was even a moment that made me emotional in the best way.
If I had one tiny wish, it would be for a bit more detail of the wedding scene. It felt like a missed opportunity to not describe the ceremony.
In short, if you are in the mood for a cozy and feel good romance with a real emotional core and a small town setting that makes you want to stay a while, this book is perfect. I give it a strong 4.5 out of 5 stars and I will definitely read more from Baldoni set in this world.
This is an easy recommendation if you want to curl up with something warm, disappear into a small town, and believe again in second chances.

What would you do if your brother asked you to step in as his soon-to-be-wife’s Maid of Honor for his upcoming wedding which just so happens to have your ex as the best man? That’s the situation Anne is in and it had me devouring this book like I would eating a bowl of chips! 😍 The connection between Anne and Jace is amazing and I love their banter and conversations immensely! 🤭

I had the honor of proofreading for the author, and man, once I started reading I could not put it down. Michelle Baldoni's writing is immersive, witty and entertaining. It has a sweet romance at the centre of the story, while also hitting all the right emotional (and occasionally heavier) notes.
It is truly the epitome of a cosy romcom. The characters are also all very loveable, and I related SO MUCH to Annie, the MC. I could really sense her frustrations and the rollercoaster of feels she goes through as she runs into her ex-love of her life.
