I initially felt like we already have a million sisters to get through we do not need this book, but I enjoyed it so much.
Grey is gone give us a beautifully flawed man and she did just that. August was a man of a few words. It was his job to observe, to see but barely be seen and that carried over into his real life. However, with Tiana he wanted to be different he yearned to give her his words and to show up in a way he never had. Tiana expected nothing less, she was very simple with her requests. I didn't really understand his actions, but grief is different for everyone. I loved the flow of this story, and that it didn't end in a neat bow.
“I want to fix myself so my woman won’t have to. Cause that’s not her job. It’s mine.” I understand the need for growth, and the fact that he was willing was beautiful.

3.5 because the connection was there sexual compatibility as well but August was a loser IDC. It’s no reason you keep moving weird with a lady you claim to love and only want the best for while not backing that up. End of the book you decide to get therapy cus the disrespect of the disappearing acts just became too much. Like brother please and I’m sorry but the R sisters def should’ve jumped him cus WTF. Also her program wasn’t strict cus sister was going for anything.

This was a cute little read. Steamy, sexy, and a strong FMC. Initially I felt like Ti was too needy and wondered why she wanted Aug to spend the night so soon. After finishing, I did have a better understanding of why. I felt like she was a strong FMC because she knew from jump she didn’t want a job when dealing with a man. She wasn’t chasing him or making him do anything. I like how she knew what she wanted from jump.
I didn’t care for August’s reason for leaving. I get that your mother passed away suddenly but that did not negate the fact that you were dealing with a woman who had already expressed her fears and insecurities to you. Like Ti said. He could have let her be there for him for support. So, I just felt like he was too grown and supposedly in love with Ti to up and leave again and for so long. He had already sorta ghosted her once before and did it again. Overall, this was good tho. I love anything regarding this group of characters.

This was such a pleasant surprise!!! Aug is a lover boy and that was something I wasn’t expecting. He’s not perfect but he wants to be perfect for Ti and you could feel that. Miss Ti might as well be an honorary member of the family because she fits right in. I loved them both so much, their passion, they were fresh and honestly I could use about 100 more pages with them.

The lines the characters spoke cut deep and lingered, the kind of words that stay in your chest long after you turn the page. ✨ “don’t wonder if this is real because you won’t ever experience anything realer.” ✨A story about love and perseverance. Grey has a a way with words. Whenever I read something from her I feel like I’m reading something by Maya Angelou or Zora Neal Hurston . The structure of her words are are beautifully layered and relevant to the times. I enjoy this novella. It wouldn’t be a Huffington book if the FMC wasn’t a boss. You can tell that she still held some trauma from what happened in Rome’s book, but I loved how she didn’t let that define her. She wasn’t afraid to express what she needed. I tried to hold space for Aug and his loss but a part of me said what Tiana said like I’m suppose to be your safe place. (This is the characters life not mine) so I give him grace, plus there’s a lot of people who deal with grief that way. All in all I love they way Aug loves his Ti and I love this love story if you want just a good love story where you feel the love even when it’s not shown on the page pick this up. 🖤

Absolute perfection
August and Tiana's story has me swooning. These two were absolutely meant to be.
As always Grey does a wonderful job with their story. This was a short, fast paced read, het, at the end, I felt fed. How does she do it? The characters were well fleshed-out.
The MMC, August, was not a perfect man but you could see his struggle to be the best he couls be and to protect those around him. He loved openly and freely and for that, I jusy adored him.
Tiana was such an inspirational being. She had been through so much but she was still determined to live life on her terms. Not accepting crumbs from others and standing strong when it came to her relationship with August made her a strong FMC in my book.
These two were absolutely beautiful. I loved seeing Chemistry, Rome and the crew. This felt like a great extension of Rome's story. I just loved everything about this book.
10/10 I would, without hesitation, recommend it.

it’s was cute but…
I get that the writer says she prefers instant gratification and short stories, now that I know, I’m not sure if this is the stuff for me.
It felt like we started in the middle of the book. Because I mean, sure they were supposedly attracted to one another over time, but how did we already get to a relationship forming in the first chapter? And it was serious enough for August to have beat up her ex and then doubled down after Tiana mentioned that the ex had told her.
Then just when things were good you have a major rift that threatens the relationship, if you can call a few weeks a relationship.
Felt like whiplash.
Also, the bedroom scenes, the “uhhhhhhh uhhhh uhhhh”…uhm, 👀🫣 very awkward

August is such a loving, caring, & protective man. A man who is willing to learn and figure out his own mess. A man who wants to be better for himself and his Ti. A family emergency almost cause him to lose his woman due to lack of communication.
Tiana runs a strict program and I LOVEEEE it. She a woman that knows her worth and loves her self enough to never accept the bare minimum. August can either get with the program or move around.

Love August and Tiana, I'm so happy that Grey decided to give them their own short story.
you meet August and Tiana in Rome's book, August was a but grumpy and takes protecting Balle very serious as he should. By the end of Rome you could tell that Aug was smitten by Tiana. In this book you get to know more about Aug the man, his attraction to Tiana and his determination to be a good man to and for her. Tiana (Rome's Best friend) has been through some things and is looking for comfort. What I love about her is that even though she is delicate, and soft, she is still not to be played with, she doesn't want to waste her time so don't play in her face.
I really enjoyed this, August is a Huffington man through and through. you get the protective, possessive MMC with BDE energy. and was for Tiana she fits right into the Childers girls.

Grey really is the best in the game. How she made me fall in love with two characters who we barely saw in Rome is genius. This was such a sweet novella, even though it was less than 200 pages the story was well told and complete. T & Aug deserve each other and I’m so happy we got to witness their love. I also loveee the cameos of the Childers gang. Honestly, I want more. ❤️❤️ I enjoyed this like I’ve enjoyed everything else from G. Huffington. Read it, you will not be disappointed

We are never supposed to compare the men in our lives but so much of August reminds me of Luca. A man with two hearts one for his chosen family and one for the love of his life- willing to die for both of them. One can only hope that this type of man exists in real life.
As always Grey did an amazing job of opening the world of Huffington to her readers. You will always leave with a gem, with a renewed expectation, a glimpse into what our loves could be.
Absolutely worth it every time. Well written Grey.

Duh 🙄🤦🏾♀️, now I remember why I stopped reading Grey Huffington books. …her material & style is an acquired taste which is/was objectionable for me. However, if repetition is appealing or you can tolerate excessive redundancy & or circumlocution writing then you’ve achieved literary utopia. Unfortunately, “Aug” was frustrating to understand contrary to the Author’s disclaimer, this book was a standalone. Nevertheless, “Aug” wasn’t the book for me nor am I interested in entertaining any companion storyline & or books.

Need more Ti & Aug
This was a great continuation of August and Tiana from Rome’s book. We got just the right amount of background info about the two characters for this to be a novella but I wouldn’t have been mad at them getting a full length story. I enjoyed the vulnerability and chemistry between both characters. Hope to see updates about their dynamic incorporated in future Grey Lists books.

This was a great novella to reinvigorate me. I especially loved the way Tiana gave herself boundaries (as she should, she went through A LOT) and August fell in line with them. The writing of this short story was poetic and whimsical but also left me wanting for more within these 143 pages. I loved the tension building between Aug + Ti and that everyone around them was in support of their growing relationship.

Beautiful!
I didn’t want this book to end! August and Tiana’s story is so incredibly beautiful! Another Grey Huffington masterpiece undoubtedly. The progression of their relationship was just real, relatable and a bit messy yet laced all throughout with grace and redemptive love.

3.75 - This started really slow for me. I put it down and came back. It eventually picked up. I liked Tiana because she was easy and sweet. I wanted her happy.
Aug was ok. I wasn't in love with him for some reason. It was probably his emotional immaturity. It bothered me throughout. I still wanted them happy.

I really really enjoyed this. I think I read this just at the right time. Aug honestly made me roll my eyes towards the end but he was the definition of rough around the edges, literally. I’m glad Ti stood her ground when needed. Their connection and tension was written really well. Grey’s pen never misses

Enjoyed it!
Even though this book wasn’t about any of the sisters, I enjoyed reading about Tiana and August. Everyone was definitely rooting for their relationship. The book was well written, flowed well and kept my attention throughout. Romance at its best.

I love a man that knows he is flawed but he’s worth of love.
August is a man that is willing to work on himself and still show up for Tiana!
I love the strong FMC spirit! Tiana wasn’t messing around and I love that for her. She already been through so much.
The passion was so beautiful and amazing!
