Christmas at the Cozy Cat Cafe

Rate this book
Snowflakes, cinnamon buns, and a cat who knows true love when he sees it…

Christmas is coming to the little village of Hollywell, where fairy lights twinkle across cobbled streets and the scent of coffee drifts from the Purr & Pour cat café. Lizzie Henslowe has built herself a safe, quiet life here – one filled with tea, toast, and the occasional feline tantrum. What she isn’t looking for is complication.

But when a snowstorm strands American stranger Nash Carter on Christmas Eve, Lizzie finds herself offering more than just soup and a seat by the fire. Nash is handsome, mysterious, and—according to Percy the cat—trustworthy. Yet the more time Lizzie spends with him, the more she suspects there’s something he isn’t telling her.

As the snow deepens and Christmas works its magic, Lizzie must decide whether to guard her carefully mended heart or take a chance on the most unexpected gift of love.

Full of sparkle, snow, and second chances, this cosy Christmas romance is perfect for curling up with by the fire.

Fans of Holly Martin and Laurie Gilmore will adore this heart-warming tale of festive cheer, new beginnings, and a romance that just might last beyond the New Year.

I'd love to be able to rate this higher but there were a few timeline errors. Nash takes his beanie off, goes upstairs to Lizzie's flat and takes his beenie off (within minutes of just taking it off?!). Nash goes out to the wood shed and finds a pregnant cat then later goes out to collect wood with Lizzie from the woodshed and sees it for the first time even though he had already gone out there once. The biggest slip up is they are baking together to the sounds of newborn kittens later that night the kittens are just being born. It is a cute easy read Christmas story, I like the characters and the small village feel but I can't get past some of these errors. I totally forgot at one point Nash gets up to answer the door but Lizzie is the one who answers it, even though she wasn't the one who got up to answer it. If you can ignore stuff like this and just want an easy cute read that has the Christmasy feel and love cats (which I do, ones curled up on my lap right now) it's worth the read.

Many times I thought about abandoning this book but there was a charm about it that made me continue. First of all, who the hell edited this book? It's all over the place. It starts off before Christmas and there are so many new mornings I'm sure it must've been February by the time they got to the finish (at New Year). Some of the descriptions were so lovely and sweet with a beautiful festive vibe. The snow, the lights on the tree in the square. But it got a little bit repetitive and samey after a while. They cupped their mugs with both hands (count how many times they do that), the stove sighed (a lot) and there was a constant smell of cinnamon. One minute it was the morning and on the next page it was goodnight. And they were up and down from the cafe to the flat and back again, they certainly got their steps in. It was so frustrating to read, especially when you became aware of it. Finishing off I have to say that the story line was weak, I mean come on!!! I won't spoil it for anyone who is going to read it but how did Lizzie not know?!!!

Having said all that it was a lovely, gentle and really, really charming read and that was why I kept going till the end.

I'm sorry, I couldn't even get past the first chapter. This book was either extremely poorly edited or written by AI, or both. Every action was described in the oddest way, so I just kept raising my eyebrows.

It didn't help that the audiobook is literally advertised as being read by "Virtual Voice," giving it zero personality and even more of an AI sheen.

You'd think that this would be just the holiday book for me based on the premise, but it would only be if it were well written. Sorry, I just don't have time to read poorly written books.

Loved this, it reminded me a lot of all the great Wattpad stuff I used to read a while ago. Wouldn't be surprised if she has stuff on there. That's a compliment BTW, I was really hooked on a certain type of fanfic on there for ages, and this is very similar ..."gorgeous rock star turns up in little village and falls for an ordinary girl". Perfect!

Feel good, heartwarming Christmas romance with plenty felines and mire than a sprinkling of powdered sugar.
Really enjoyed curling up with this. I could imagine the smell and sound of heavy snowfalls of years past. The small town setting is very relatable and believable. And the cats are SO very clever:)

I agree with other reviewers that there are a couple of irritating time line errors that should have been picked up when proofread. However, I found it to be a charming and captivating story which I thoroughly enjoyed despite the mistakes.

A sweet, cozy holiday read. A clean love story that allows the reader to dive in and become a part of the character’s story and their holiday world.
