There was something about Abby that just made me...crazy. I wanted to possess her. Claim her. Protect her. I wanted to be as important to her as she was to me.
4.5 stars!
Even though this novel wasn't perfect, I still enjoyed the hell out of it. I found myself unable to put it down and snuck in reading time at work (which I never do) because I simply could not get enough of it. However there were a few things that didn't work for me:
🖤the beginning of the novel didn't have any romantic-suspense elements as all of the action was contained in the last 50%
🖤both MCs behaved immaturely, especially in the beginning before their relationship was solidified
🖤the hero calling our heroine a bitch, now I love a good alpha hero as much as anyone else but I draw the line here
However despite these hang-ups, I ended up really enjoying this novel! I loved how quirky and kickass our heroine was and how she didn't take any crap from Clay. Clay was such a great and protective hero once he got out of his own head. The banter and chemistry between Clay and Abby were seriously my favorite parts of the novel; they were adorable and sexy together and I loved following along their HEA ♡

Oh boy the Devil was most definitely tempted in this steamy, suspenseful, and forbidden romance story.
They thought it was simply one steamy night between two strangers who would never see each other again.
Well.... aren't they shocked when they discover not only will they be working together, but Abby is also the little sister of Clay's best friend and coworker, Con.
They try and draw a line in the sand but with a shared chemistry that is so combustible it will melt your Kindle, that line gets blurred pretty quickly.
What a ride...
As Clay works on his insecurities, and they explore their push and pull relationship, they are also faced with Abby's past that could potentially put her in danger.
When secrets are revealed and mysteries reach the surface, how will her brother Con feel about their relationship? Will Clay be able to keep Abby safe while also learning to open his heart?
The suspense, the intrigue, the steam, the action, the alpha-ness, and the sweet and swoony moments, had me glued to the pages of this story. So much so I devoured it in one sitting.
And then.....
The slight cliffy has left me absolutely desperate for Book 6.

Tempting the Devil by Morgan James is book 5 in the Quentin Security Series. This is the story of Clay and Abilene 'Abby'. This was a standalone book for me. Clay and Abby happen to meet and it leads them to have a one and done hot encounter or so that what Abby thought. So when she arrives in town to take care of Violet a older who who helped raise her she meets Clay again. Clay is Abby's brother Con best friend and to top that she will be working with him at their company. Clay can't get past their encounter but Abby tries with no luck then she finds herself in danger after finding out an old family secret. Now Clay is on protective watch over her. I did enjoy this book and will be looking for more from this author.

I love this series so much and even more than that I love Clay & Abby their chemistry is off the charts hot and instant. These two were meant for one another they just didn’t know it yet. What was only supposed to be one night turned into so much more. You are completely sucked into their story from page 1 and just know you will not be able to put it down until you are finished. This book has everything heat, passion, romance, suspense just the whole package. Had me all in my feelings. It was perfect. Clay and Abby were perfect… I cant wait for the next book because that ending had me with my mouth open…

My review for my first read of a Morgan James book.
So happy to be the first to review this book by Morgan James and thank you Morgan for providing me with an ARC. I loved this book. It captured me from beginning to end, The story was great, the suspense sufficient and the romance overflowing with heat. I had not read the other books in the series so glad this was a stand alone. Typically I am extremely anal about reading books in a series in sequence from 1 to ??? I am now curious to read the others. I laughed, I cried, I gasped and I even hid my eyes with my hand in parts before I carried on reading. The hero and heroine are such an ideal match. So perfect for each other, each with traits that make them different enough to be interesting enough to each other. Morgan, I don't know how your other books have been rated but if they are anything like this one I am sure they were 5 star reads too. If you like romantic suspense, a little bit of sex, a good plot and want to be kept on the edge of your seat, then this is a must read for you.

'Tempting the Devil' by Morgan James, is Book Five in the 'Quentin Security' series. This book follows the story of Abby and Clay. - (4.5 stars)

I jumped into this read as a blind read, allowing myself to be fully surprised and my reactions genuine, without reading the blurb to put any thoughts into my head. Reading this book purely based on the title alone, I can confirm that I was indeed, tempted by the devil.
Straight away based on the content of the first chapter, I knew that this was very much going to be a tempting, steamy, gripping-the-sheets kind of read. By the mention of the words 'tempting' and 'devil' in the title, it was only a matter of turning the pages to see how they would relate to both the storyline, and to one or more characters. Namely, our devil is of course Clay and the temptation, Abby and their forbidden, workspace and close proximity off-the-charts romanic chemistry.
There's just always something so enticingly thrilling about the forbidden. After all, there's always a consequence to the secretly forbidden and reading this book, I had the best time working up to where that moment came in the story.
The line was well and truly crossed and of course, Abby and Clay both pay the price in their respective ways but not before facing off against one another when the tough finally gets going. As the saying goes, 'nothing worth having comes easy', and it's fair to say, more than one thing within this book is most certainly hard. Abby and Clay both prove that with grit, determination and a love worth fighting for, there's nothing you can't do or achieve as long as you do it together.
'The devil is in the details' is a phrase often heard thrown around from time to time, but is one I feel is so appropriate for how to sum up the chaotic rollercoaster that was Tempting the Devil. Morgan James goes into incredible detail when it comes to keeping the suspense so high, you don't come off your toes for a second you're too intrigued by what will happen next, teamed the rawness of the Alpha-male nature that Clay and other characters exude, all mixed in with heart-warming, emotional, love-charged moments that will have you 'aww'ing makes for a read you'll be tempted to pick up and not put down.
Although one part of the book and phase used by Clay is slightly of putting, I am nonetheless giving this a hearty 4.5/5 stars and a generous round of applause for Ms Morgan James. I'm so tempted by this read, I'll be hard-pressed if I'm going to miss the next one.
Consider me well and truly Tempted by the Devil!

Tempting the Devil by Morgan James
Quentin Security Series #5
Sizzling romance with a healthy dose of mystery and suspense ~ Could not put it down! And, not having read previous books in the series was no problem at all as this story was complete in and of itself. That said, the hook at the end did make me want to find out what will happen next.
What I liked:
* The hot first night that was meant to be a one-night stand
* Abilene “Abby” Quentin: computer degree, back in town to care for her guardian and work for her brother, intelligent, talkative, sassy, knows what she wants, strong, independent, has memories she can’t explain – perfect for Clay.
* Clay Thompson: ex-Marine, twin, lethal, dyslexic, works for Quentin Security, falls hard for Abilene, has issues with his father that need to eventually be resolved, good friend of Abby’s brother Con, perfect for Abilene.
* Con: businessman, ex-Marine, big brother to Abilene, protective, intriguing, interested in finding out who he ends up with and think his book could be next.
* The mystery behind the dreams Abilene has and how that ties into more…
* The writing, plot, and location of the story
* The relationship between Clay and his twin Cole – would like to find out who Cole ends up with eventually.
* All of it really except…

This book kept me on my toes. I’m usually pretty good at guessing who the killer is in books, but I really had no idea. I loved Abby. She is quirky and strong. Clay grew on me throughout the book. I loved how it was told through both of their POV’s. The spice level was just right for this book.

Oh, that awkward moment when your one night stand hears you reducing it to something so utterly awful that they don’t want a thing to do with you. Welcome to Clay’s time to open mouth and insert both feet. And since Abby isn’t stupid or weak, she deals with it in the way many women do: a major change and avoidance. I love how she avoids, too. She’s so good at it that Clay shatters all of his rules because she is The One who could make or break his future.
But while these two are finding their way, a few other somethings are coming closer every day. Are they dreams or hidden memories? What truly happened to the daughter Abby’s guardian had before she came to live there? And what happens when they get too close to the truth?
While I came into the series with this book, I didn’t feel lost or confused. Instead, I felt like the focus was where it belonged. On Abby and Clay and their dilemma. Sure, I got glimpses of what may come next and that convinced me I must continue with this series, but I especially enjoyed how the author didn’t gloss over important-to-grasp things, yet she also didn’t rehash entire stories that came before this one. This was the first book I have read in the Quentin Security Series, and if the other books are like this I have been missing out!
The chemistry between Abby and Clay was off the charts amazing. I loved that although they were into each other really quickly, it still felt real. I loved the quirky attitude Abby had as well. I love when the heroine is a sassy woman!
The fact that this was not only a romance with HOT scenes, but it was also a thriller/mystery as well? You couldn't ask for more. How did I miss this series until now?
The author is obviously super talented. This story really drags you in and keeps you reading. I expected to be able to put it down and take a break, but that just didn't happen. I was hooked. On top of that, since this is the 5th book in the series I expected to be a little lost in the beginning. That was not the case at all. This book manages to just be a wonderful stand-alone if this is the first one you read. I know I'll be going back to read the first 4 now as well though.

Tempting The Devil by Morgan James Is the fifth book in the (Quentin Security series ) I cannot even express how much I have loved this series .Morgan is not only one of my extremely favorite authors but someone who never fails to deliver a phenomenal story every single time.From the moment I started reading I was completely pulled into Abbey and Clays love story . The instant chemistry between them is off the charts hot . When these two meet ( they have a one night stand ) there are no expectations for anything beyond that . But That was before they come across each other once again and start to learn more about one another. Morgan has a way of grabbing onto you and keeping you on the edge of your seat until the very end. This is a story filled with intrigue, heat , romance, many surprises you will not be expecting, wonderful characters and a flawless story . I adored every single minute of it ❤️

3.5 stars - If you enjoy dominant, alpha guys and steamy, rough sex scenes between the characters, then this is for you. I couldn't connect with Clay or Abilene, unfortunately. Clay is too rough a character for me. But Morgan James is a great writer and you may really enjoy it. I liked Cole, Clay's brother, a lot. If Morgan writes a book about him, I'd read it. It’s a well thought out plot, just darker than I usually enjoy. The plot keeps you guessing, which is great. I enjoyed that suspenseful aspect of it.

Where do I start with this book.
Abby and Clay have a one night stand but they do not know each other and when they meet again it is a total shocker.
Abby is Con's sister and she is moving back to Dallas to work for him.
Clay works for Con and does not want to cross that best friends little sister line, but oh man does he cross that line.
While they are dealing with their new romance they are dealing with a situation from Abby's past and it is a great story line and totally leaves you enthralled with the book till the end.
We get to know more about Clay and his life as he grew up and it brings a different outlook to him.
Plus we get to know more about Con throughout this series, there has been tidbits about a women from his past and OMG what a cliff hanger!!! When is book 6 coming out!!!

Interesting and enjoyable read
This is the 5th book in the Quentin Security series.
As I’ve found, this being my first by the author, these books can be read as standalones.
This is Clay and Abby’s Book
Good writing that definitely holds your attention and the characters have a wonderful chemistry between them.
The story begins when the two have a one night stand, not knowing that he works for her brother.
Con the brother is my favourite, I love his protective nature and the way he loves his sister.
This is in parts tense and others passionate.

The story begins when the two have a one night stand, not knowing that he works for her brother.
Con the brother is my favourite, I love his protective nature and the way he loves his sister.
This is in parts tense and others passionate.

Abilene’s story was delicious! I flove this series! I’ve been looking forward to Abbi’s story for awhile now and this one did not disappoint.
What did I like? Steamy book! Clay and Abi just scorch the pages and I didn’t want to put it down! The story was pretty simple as we see a hawt one night stand turn into something more and Clay turns overprotective when there’s a new mystery to solve! Five stars!
Would I recommend or buy? I’d recommend the whole series to be honest. Not a whole lot of angst but some good honest fun. I can’t wait for Con’s story! Read the series…. You will love it!

Oh my goodness what a steamy little story Morgan James has given us.
Abby and Clay so full of intense, steaming hot chemistry. Not to mention the suspense and intrigue. They promised each other one night and one night only. Of course that was before they knew anything about each other. This story is completely enticing from the very beginning. It has a little bit of everything. What an excellent read!

Absolutely loved this book.
It grabs you from the first page, and you can't put it down. I the the characters and the plot was good. This is my first time reading a book by this author and all I can say is Next please.

This is my first Morgan James book, and what a way to start! Tempting the Devil is the fifth book in the Quentin Security Group series. It is hands down one of the best books I've read in the past year. It's an exciting ride from start to finish. I truly appreciate that! As I get older, I find that my tolerance for fluff is at an all-time low. Please don't give me a dramatic moment at the beginning of the book, and only mention it once more before we get to the end of the book, where the drama is wrapped up in two paragraphs. My hot flashes and I expect more, and Tempting the Devil delivers.
Clay and Abby are two strangers in the same hotel bar. A bold move and a lie lead to an unforgettable night and an understanding that it's only one night. However, Abby's new job at her brother's security company may change that. Neither Clay nor Abby had an easy childhood, but Abby's disturbing dreams of her past generate questions for which no one seems to have answers. Clay might be the man to help her unravel this mystery.
The dialogue in the story is fun and fast-paced. The characters are fully formed and make you care about them and their well-being. The love scenes are HOT, plentiful, and very enjoyable! The dramatic incident is wound carefully throughout this book and packs a punch at the end as it should! I have no complaints about this book, and I'm so glad I had the opportunity to discover Morgan James and the Quentin Security Group. I will absolutely go back and read the first four books of this series. Two thumbs up, Five Stars, and wholeheartedly recommend! Go buy it….NOW!

Morgan delivers an outstanding story of two strangers that have a chemistry that is off the charts. There is denial on one side and a complete infatuation on the other.

Abbey ends up in a hotel since Violet sets the kitchen on fire. She decides that she wants a one night-stand and has her eyes set on a handsome man, Clay, in the hotel bar. Why not since she will probably never see him again. Well her hot and steamy night turns into a day from hell when she walks into work and Clay is sitting in the conference room. Clay was just the right amount of jerk vs swoon. Some moments I wanted to pop him and others...😉. Abby kept him on his toes with her snarkiness. When the book turned suspenseful, I could not put it down! Abby knew who she was and she wasn't afraid to call Clay out on his crap. She was also vulnerable at times which called on his protective ways. And that little nugget introducing the characters of the next book - loved it! Can't wait to read the next one and get caught up on the previous ones! 🖤

I was lucky enough to receive an advance reader copy of Tempting The Devil, by Morgan James. I was introduced to this author when I read her Sinful Duet early this year and I quickly devoured the rest of her back catalogue. I love dark, contemporary romantic suspense and book 5 in the Quentin Security Series was no exception. Tempting The Devil has plenty of steamy moments, as well as a brilliantly written plot that will keep you guessing until the very end.
The plot is relatively fast-paced and entertaining, and it kept me so engaged that I devoured the story within two days.
The love interest Clay is the perfect book boyfriend to cosy up with. Sexy and protective, he knows exactly what he wants and will stop at nothing to make it happen, even though his words can often get him into trouble. As for Abby, she comes across as a little crazy and somewhat timid at times but don't let initial impressions fool you. She's a sassy little firecracker and the perfect match for Clay and their sizzling chemistry leads to some very steamy scenes early on.
About half way through the read, I was convince I knew exactly how it would end but the author three in a satisfying surprise twist at the last minute that I certainly wasn't expecting before tying everything in a pretty little bow and giving me the HEA I was craving.

Abby didn't have a great childhood since her parents were selfish, but luckily she had her older brother who would have done anything for her & did. This story takes place after she graduated college, and she came home to help the woman who helped raise her when her brother joined the military. Right after she came home before she got to her guardian, she decided she wanted to just do something for her, so she spent the night with a super hot stranger who she didn't plan to see again. Little did either of them know, she would end up at his place of employment since she's the little sister of his boss & newest employee. Unfortunately for him, she caught him saying something really terrible about her so they were off to a great start. He decided that he wanted to explore things with her, but she wasn't having it so let the games begin. They had the all consuming chemistry which did make it impossible for her to stay away from him but she didn't want her brother to know which had me anxious because you already know it won't stay a secret. Oh, and she finds herself in the middle of something that may or may not put her life in danger so now we have twists happening on top of their secret, and the heat so yeah, Tempting the Devil was the perfect story for me! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Being new to Ms.James' work I've been looking so forward to picking up her books! As soon as i came across the synopsis for this one I knew i had to read it first! I enjoyed this story!
I was so glad to get into the Quentin Security world! Clay and Abby's journey got my attention! I wasn't sure what all to expect in their story which got me into it even more. I enjoyed their chemistry and how both characters had me feeling many things!
With Tempting the Devil, Ms.James has created a good read! I'm looking forward to picking up more of her work!

This is my first book by Morgan James and it won't be my last because this story was addictive, an all consuming reading, with so many steamy moments, mystery and suspense which I didn't see coming.
I devoured this book in one sitting, I honestly loved it from the first page and the sexy encounter between Clay and Abby. The chemistry from there was phenomenal and it only escalated after finding each other working together in the same company.
The mystery and the suspense was top notch and it keep me at the edge of my sit. There are some revelations that'll shock you and the adrenaline towards the end is just excellent.
This was honestly a great story.

This book was amazing I still working on the rest of the series but if it how good this book was I can’t not wait and I’m so happy to be part of Morgan James arc team and she is a great writer it does has some steamy part so be 18+ I can’t wait for the next book to read
