In the bustling streets of Hartford, Connecticut, Amity's ordinary life takes a sharp turn when she collides with a mysterious stranger. I finished the audiobook for Echoes in Obsidian and overall I enjoyed it. If you’re into paranormal romance with witches, demons, magic and a mystery running through the story, this one has a lot to offer.
The full cast audiobook was definitely one of the highlights for me. Having multiple narrators gave each character their own voice and made the story feel more immersive. It was easy to follow along and really helped bring the world and the emotions to life.
I liked the chemistry between Amity and Luka and I enjoyed slowly uncovering the secrets surrounding Amity’s past and the magical world she gets pulled into. There was a nice balance of romance, mystery and action that kept me wanting to see where everything was headed.
That said, there were a few things that kept this from being a higher rating for me. The pacing dragged a bit in some sections and there were moments where the characters’ more immature or childish behavior pulled me out of the story. It wasn’t enough to make me stop enjoying it, but I definitely noticed it.
Overall, I still had a good time with this one. The magical world was interesting, the full cast narration added a lot to the experience and I’m curious enough to continue the series to see where these characters go next.

Perfect Halloween vibes: witchy, moody, and just the right amount of dark fun. This story blends hidden/forgotten identity, witches, demons, and city magic into a fast, bingeable read. The banter and crackling tension between Amity and Luka had me grinning one minute and biting my nails the next. I genuinely couldn’t put it down—and when I finished, I wasn’t ready to leave these characters behind.
Without spoilers: the reveals click into place so satisfyingly, and Danielle Kucky keeps the pace tight even in a chunky book. If you love hidden identity threads, demon-hunter danger, and sharp, flirty dialogue, add this to your fall TBR. I’m already wishing for more time in this world.

This is a great book that I loved the main characters and loved how her cat was a written as a character! It was my first paranormal romance also.

Great paranormal romance with twists, trysts and demonic tricks! Absolutely loved the banter and characters within this and can not wait to see what else Danielle brings to the floor as Luka and amity’s story continues!

I really wanted to like this book, and the first third of it I really did. But then it started to get convoluted and drawn out, I had to force myself to finish it.

Holy hellbound spirits...
The only thing stopping this from being a 5 star is the fact that -- although not a *full* cliffhanger -- Amity and Luka's story is in no way finished and I must wait for the next book to continue their story.
I also was lucky enough to be provided an advance listener copy(ALC) of the audiobook and am providing my honest review.
I enjoyed the story immensely- intrigue starting as soon as the FMC leaves her house. Unpacking all the twists and turns this book took was very fun. I felt like Luka was plucked from my imagination, and the fact he smells of my favorite Bath&Body Works candle (sea salt + sandalwood)... honey I was sold the second Amity ran into him, literally.
The whipped cream, sprinkles, and cherries on this lovely sundae are the voice actors: Amity voiced by the author themselves, Dolph Metzen fulfilling my dream Luka (ugh, call me kitten again, I dare you...hahah), Flynn popping in with his delicious mysterious tambor, and Atlas chewing. the. damn. place. down!!! I can tell he had SO much fun with this character, and kinda stole the chapters he was featured in-- sorry not sorry.
I do wish I had the book to read as well, as I feel like I may have missed some hints and set ups for subsequent books. But, oh, darn, I have to buy the book, too, now?
In all seriousness, I was a little concerned when the book was described as a dark paranormal romance, as it's not necessarily my go to read, but this felt very much in the Sookie Stackhouse-realm of paranormal and I'm *totally* down for that kind of story.

I listened to the audiobook edition, so I’ll review the book itself first and the voices second.
I love anything supernatural, so the combination of witches, demons, and magic in this story was very enticing. Amity was such a relatable heroine because she’s just trying to find her way in the world and doesn’t know quite how to handle it. Luka was appropriately mysterious and exciting, as well as oh so sexy. The lore and suspense unfolded in such a way that it wasn’t overwhelming, and all of the side characters added a lot of flare to the narrative. While this is a continuous series and not everything is resolved at the end of this volume, the main problem of this first book is, and I like that. I will definitely be there when the second book is released to find out what happens next!
Specifically regarding the audiobook edition, Danielle does a fantastic job narrating her FMC, and Dolph Metzen adds just the right amount of sass to Luka to stand up to Amity. Flynn tantalizes as the mysterious Rune, who I also can’t wait to learn more about. Atlas, though his appearance is fairly brief, manages to steal the show as the villainous Dramaur with a delightfully evil performance. I’m looking forward to hearing more of the same as the series continues.
Overall, if you enjoy a thrilling supernatural saga with great characters, lots of fun twists and turns, and an outstanding audio cast, you need to listen to this!

This was a wonderful read for me and I devoured this book really fast! I really liked this story and the characters we meet.
Amity is the FMC who works at her parents coffee/book shop. One day she runs into a stranger and spills coffee all over him, he starts showing up a lot more often. Luka is the MMC and is a demon hunter, but also our mystery man who Amity ran into. Their relationship starts to bud the more Luka comes around. I loved the tension between these two is was so good. Now Luka has been keeping a secret from Amity but he is also trying to fix it. Once she figures the secret out Luka is more open with her but still tries to keep her out of any trouble. This entire story was so interesting and kept me saying "just one more chapter" every time! I was kicking my feet and smiling the whole book. Things start coming into clear view for Amity and us as well but we also get some plot twists thrown in. This is such a great witchy, paranormal, and moody book. We get banter, demons, sexy demon hunter man, forgotten identity, magic, and some fun side characters sprinkled in!! I would recommend everyone give this book a try honestly!!!

I read along as I listened to the Audiobook. I love all that is supernatural. In this book there is magic, Witches and Demons. Amity is so relatable to me the way she navigates through life. She is also a strong character joining the mysterious and sexy Luka on a journey. All the characters in the book are three dimensional characters that added to the story that pulls the reader in even more to the world.
With the Audiobook all the narrators were phenomenal!
Danielle did a fantastic job narrating Amity! Dolph narrating Luka matches Danielle’s energy and the character’s chemistry together is hot. Flynn does an amazing job narrating for the mysterious Rune who I want to learn more about. Atlas makes an appearance and steals the show with his playfully evil voice as the Demon Dramaur. I can’t wait to hear more from all the narrators in book 2 and beyond.

Where do I even begin?!
Banter. Let’s start with the banter. Between the characters, it was hilarious and then with Amity’s inner monologue…I mean she’s so relatable. The amount of times I said “bitch same”…I lost count lol. Luka, you a teasing ass hoe. With your pretty eyes and just smelling of pure unadulterated demon hunting sexy man witch.
I’m not gonna say that at some point he didn’t hurt my feelings with his lies, but I digress.
I loved the entire theme of this book.
Just some casual memory loss and demon dick. 😂
I would 100% recommend this one. 10/10 would ride again

Halloween vibes, spooky, witchy, demons, there is an audio book which is fabulous! Each character has its own voice and passion it was amazing.
