A captivating new LitRPG Adventure featuring an Overpowered Healer MC with plant-based magic.
Break his chains. Grow his strength. Heal the world. For almost half a century, Elijah had kept his Core sealed. It allowed him to stay in the shadows, to run his little alchemy shop on the outskirts of the slums without fear, but it also limited him.
It made him weak.
When he finds two people half-dead in an alley, both too young to have had a chance at life, he removes the chains from his magic to help them.
The time to step into the light — to feel the call of the world — has come once more.

Rules of Biomancy slowly unfolds its story about a very complex plot involving 5 seperate characters: Elijah, Aleksi, Jack, Sasha, and Vera. It takes quite a bit of time for things to make sense, while quite a bit of world lore gets laid down. There's some iseki, there's a sentient plant that takes the shape of a duck, there's a dungeon that decides to grant skills for some unknown reason. I would not say that all the questions get answered by the end of the book, and things do feel very rushed towards the end. Personally, I felt there were a few plot holes and that the iseki characters were rather unlikable as a whole.
As it finished I couldn't help feeling that the two summoned Earthlings were almost completely wasted. Their uniqueness failed to alter the plot one iota. You could have replaced both of them with John Wick's dog and had the same story.
Now this is what I love. A book about a Alchemist who makes healing potions! But really who is Elijah? He has kept his secrets close to his heart! And no one except Aleski, his bodyguard, knows who he is... all they know is his potions are cheap and they work better than those shops that charge more in upper town. That is until Elijah comes across two kids who are bleeding out in an ally... they'll die if Elijah doesn't help. Unfortunately potions are not enough and he's forced to use his mana. Once again unlocking his core. And once again back at level 1.0 but with everything he already knows you betcha he'll be leveling fast. But first the kids are a problem! He and Aleski hafta keep 'em hidden. Mysteries within Mysteries. And then there's the plant 🪴 with it's golden flowers. A plant that he uses when making healing ointment. What's with the plant? Huh!?! When a princess starts poking her nose in his business things really start happening! Just you wait and see! So yeah go grab the book and book ready for the next awesome book to drop... where you're gonna see a lot more of Jack and Sasha the two youngsters Summoned from earth.
This is sort of an ensemble cast fantasy with the Isekaied characters and litrpg elements being pretty much secondary. These two characters were the least interesting and engaging of the bunch to be honest. I geneal the story tended to ramble a bit and could have been tighter, and I solved the whodunnit way too early, otherwise, pretty fun and refreshing read.
A Great Blend of Mystery, Fantasy, and Kingdom Politics
This is not your typical LitRPG book. While there are some leveling aspects, and people from a different world, this is mostly about an old man with a past who gets sucked into a mystery that could end up deciding the fate of the Kingdom he’s hiding in. It was well written and surprisingly complex. It’s worth the read!
I loved the plant magic that Elijah was able to control. The plot was intriguing and characters were interesting. I loved how the dungeon itself was able to talk and help his with mana and spells. This is a series that I will definitely keep reading.
No clue wtf is going on, instead of a random intro about some powerfull gods, or daebolical cartles plotting demise of you the MC. We get some super degen intro of 1h when there is no LitRPG, no items, levels anything... Dnf too boring
I very much enjoyed this book. Elijah and Aleksi are not your usual protagonists. The story was very well done and had a lot of great twists and turns. Dawn is a riot and lots of fun. I look forward to seeing what happens in the next book.
Wow. This is not an adventure you associate with two old men. Lots of fighting and spells. This book pulls no punches, explaining the backstory of our main anti-hero who has gotten a conscience in his old age. Highly recommended.
