Ton of typos but overall a pretty good story and it sets up the rest of the series really well!

I was really intrigued by this book, especially because the concept and plot felt fresh, particularly for a debut. There was something about the premise that immediately pulled me in, and I was genuinely curious to see where it would go.
What stood out most to me was the idea behind the story, it had so much potential, and I found the overall direction engaging and original. That said, I did find myself wishing for a bit more depth and emotional grounding as I read. I wanted more time to really sit with the characters, to get to know them beyond the surface, and to feel what they were feeling rather than just observe what was happening.
At times, the story felt more lust-driven than emotionally driven, and while that will definitely work for some readers, I personally wanted more emotional connection and development. I also felt this especially around certain plot points, like the period of separation, where I would have loved to see more internal conflict, yearning, or struggle, particularly from Nick. Even small moments of hesitation or emotional tension would have made those parts hit harder for me.
Despite that, I still think this book has a really strong foundation. The plot was engaging, the premise was unique, and for a debut, it’s clear that a lot of creativity and ambition went into it. I walked away feeling like this story has a lot of promise, and I’d be interested to see how this world and these characters continue to grow in future books.

J'aime bien ça commence très rapidement.
